Rocky is AWESOME. Roeper says it reminds you why the original deserved its Best Picture win and says that Stallone reclaimed the franchise and gave it a fitting finale. Big two thumbs up.

sooo conflicted now. they generally hate movies i like and love movies I cant stand :/
 
Cool. I thought the trailers looked pretty good, at least compared to what my expectations were when I first heard they were making a Rocky 6.
 
I've heard a lot of the positive previews floating around and I'm excited to see this. I hope it has a deserving soundtrack to accompany it.
 
If this is true, then we can happily own Rocky I-III, pretend IV and V never happened and end with Rocky VI.
 
Awesome, definitely gonna check it out. Stallone was on NPR the other day, and he seemed very sincere, aware what he was doing and was totally down to earth. In every interview they ask him to say 'Yo Adrian' and he plays along without the whole thing becoming akward. Props to Stallone.
 
:lol I hope to God it's good...that'd be twice in a little over a month that haters would be forced to eat crow (Daniel Craig supplying the first plate full of roasted bird).

I never doubted this movie, they did everything right this time. I might end up liking it more than Rocky 2-4 since Adrian will no longer be complaining that Rocky is fighting, Rocky is a damn fighter, he doesnt need negative women in his life. Also, his son has superpowers, he is like 60 and fights some cocky punk, Paulie and his awsome drunkness is back, badass training segments to build hurt bombs, freaking calcium deposits on Rocky's joints.

best movie of 2006, greatest comeback story ever for Stallone, best revived movie series ever, biggest oscar ownage ever, everything about it is pure awsome.

Aisha Tyler sat in. Ebert would have likely given it a good review as well considering that now a days (When he isn't in the hospital) he bases movies on the quality they are within the genre and within the franchise than comparing them to all type of movies like he used too.

I dated a girl recently and we were talking on the phone, and I saw the commercial for Rocky Balboa, and I'm like I can't believe they made a 6th Rocky. She went huh? I said you know, Rocky. She went there's a movie about him? I sit there confused for a minute before it hits me. She thinks Rocky is a REAL boxer. She didn't even KNOW there was a movie called Rocky. WTF?!?!
 
I am pretty excited about Rocky VI I was pretty skeptical about it at first but as long as he doesn't die or win the fight it should be good. If you don't like IV though there is something wrong with you it just might be the best pure 80s movie of all time. Hearts on fire should be on everyone's workout playlist.

WTF? I hope you used her for your sexual pleasure and then slapped her for being so stupid. Then left.

All I know is that no matter if it's a good or bad movie, I'll end up crying. I'm a sucker for this type of movies.
 
Am I the only one who thinks Rocky IV was the best one. It was so over the top that it was pure gold. Plus it was filmed in Vancouver so +1 to Canada.
 
The first film had a message, a purpose.

The second film was there to please the crowd.

The third film wanted to show what life was life for Rocky after becoming larger than life.

The fourth film had no purpose at all. No message. Nothing. It was devoid of anything worthwhile. Why even make a film if you have nothing to say?

The fifth film tried to go back to the series' roots. It failed. Miserably.

This new film, despite what I thought about it when it was announced, looks to be the only film other than the first one with a worthwhile story. This is what the fifth movie should have been.
