From Software's Echo Night 2 is the only Echo Night game that never got a western release...

7 years in the making, the english patch was being worked on by Gemini, was scrapped, then was recently resumed (incidentally around the time Bloodborne was released)

It is a first person survival horror/mystery series with adventure game elements..

Nice!
I have the original game and Beyond on PS2 but forgot to pick this one up while I was in Japan.

Luckily I just found & ordered a new copy from an Amazon seller for ~$24 shipped! :D
It'll probably creep up in price as more people hear about the translation patch but a few other sellers have it available for the same price if anyone else is looking for a copy:

What!?

This actually got finished? I am beyond pleased, I really liked Echo Night 1 and Beyond. Been waiting for this forever.

Yes sir! I hope we can get an all new improved Echo Night game on current gen. Maybe From Software can take a break from the souls series, or assign this project to a small team at From.

If From Soft can develop DS2 and BB side by side, I'm sure they can work on different projects

I've played about 5 hours now. I will say, this is quite a bit different than either Echo Night 1 or Beyond. Both of those felt kind of the same gameplay wise, just different settings/graphics. But Echo Night 2 has a lot of mix-ups in the gameplay I was not expecting, one of the biggest is something I found out late, you can now 'damn' the spirits by making consequential choices in gameplay. Basically you can do actions that can condemn people from being saved on that playthrough. This is not a thing in either games, and has to make you think a lot harder about what you're doing rather than just trying everything with everyone, as there's now more than one possible solution to a number of situations.

Enjoying it so far though, see how it compares to the other two titles when I get further in.

Yeah I was surprised when I accidentally messed up the
Norma/Mark "piano music"
quest. I loaded my save and did it properly, but this definitely caught me off guard.

Finally found some time to start this. Anyone finished it? Dusk Golem?

The controls are hella awful by the way, moving around is a torture. x-x

Yeah remapping is a must, and yeah I finished it, I'm happy to have finally say I finished the first 3 Echo Night games now.
