I looked into importing Anno 1701 from Australia, and it'd end up being really expensive. So yeah, I'd prefer to see someone release it in the US before I go down that road. Great score for the game, though.

Yep I'm waiting for a domestic release as well. play-asia should stock this game in their catalog.

He talks about previous E3s when he was on the Goldeneye team, "I guess people would rather look at Jade Raymond than a bearded hippy like me" and his experience this year.

I just skimmed it.

The following games got 10 in Edge:

Halo
Zelda: OoT
Super Mario 64

Also worth noting that GTA3 got 6/10 originally. Then after everyone disagreed they pretended it was a printing mistake in the next issue and claimed they meant 8/10. Also MGS2 got 8/10. Final Fantasy X 7/10.

HL2 and Grand Turismo also got 10.

What makes you believe that the GTA3 thing was not a error? You don't know anything about it. I have no reason to believe its not a error.

Edge has made plenty of controversity through the years. FFX got a 6. Even the original Doom got a 7 and they got butchered for it.

They have later said, that if they could change something, they would change their Goldeneye score to a 10.

Talk to yourself.

Because they announced a correction to it the next month's issue. And don't be so rude.

Evidence?

Yes, that's an 8 right there.

EDIT: Unless you're asking why I think it was not an error? Because the review made it sound like a 6/10 game, and it had "Six out of Ten" at the bottom of the page. I just had a feeling that they'd settled on 6/10 and took it back, OR they reviewed a preview version when they shouldn't have.

I have to admit I generally agree with Edge's scores though. They gave ZOE 2 a 4/10 and I completely agree.

That's a surprising thing to think in retrospect. Goldeneye being a 10 to play at the time doesn't change the fact that it has dated horribly. Any idea when they made that comment?

Could someone with the magazine give a rundown of the Zelda:PH and Ouendan 2 reviews?

Phantom Hourglass "achieves the deep, all-encompassing synthesis with the host hardware that Nintendo's designers are famous for, but hadn't yet attempted with DS".

"In the context of the Zelda series, Phantom Hourglass is a solid but slightly lightweight proposition. Arguably, a brisker game which trims some design fat is exactly what the series needs. But in the context of the DS catalogue it's a giant of a game, perhaps the best yet, and certainly the fullest expression of this unique machine's charms"

Ouendan 2 is a pretty by the books review, "Ouendan 2's fine new set of songs and stories and fine-tuned mechanics make it another easy choice for import. The series' delightful play on the universals of music and personal adversity once again prevails"

Sounds really nice.

Heh. 'By the books', huh.

Thanks, BTW.

Edge is awesomer than I though. Goldeney is the best N64 game... too bad it will never have a remake so people that complait about FPS and graphics could see how awesome this game was...

Rockstar didn't send them a review copy of GTA3, so for the review, Edge actually had to buy their own copy from their local store. IIRC, this was mentioned in the review text, and they sounded none-too-pleased. Draw your own conclusions from that.

I think it was Vice City actually, GTA III when being reviewed was an unproven formula- Rockstar needed every bit of coverage they could get.
After the huge success of GTA III their PR department got a bit demanding.

Unless Edge agreed to give it a 9 before seeing the game they weren't allowed advanced previews.

WW is timeless and iconic.

TP is not.

I agree with this.

After finishing TP a month ago, I have to agree. The game feels too much like OOT, and i still think WW stands out better after a few years. Could really do without the long sailing in WW though.
