EDGE - March 2006 scores

GMR having (mostly) great covers stops this one being great?

Oh right I forgot, it's because it's about Nintendo. As no Edge covers not about Nintendo are praised.

"Long Live Live Arcade"

nice

My favourite Edge cover was back in 2001 when they first reviewed Halo. FXXK on the front cover, using the Xbox "X" logo in between the F and K.

will do. Been meaning to get Edge mag for some time now. Might re-subscribe with them

Is it still £60 a year?

why is it so expensive :(

I love EDGE but not even a subscription would make sense in NZ...

I'll just stick to buying only 3-4 a year :(:(:(

it's 9.99 a quarter now, I still subscribed at the old price of 64 quid or so. Luckily running out soon, so I'll get to safe some money by re-subscribing as well.

But Tim Follin is doing the music for PSP Lemmings...
sayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy what?
Tim Follin did the music for the PSP version of Lemmings, here is an interview with him on Gamasutra:
Follin is still involved in games, to some capacity. "I’m just finishing the music for Lemmings on the PSP," he said. "It’s been a pretty tight deadline and I’ve never done as much music in as little time before. I’ve also had to do the sound effects and lemming speech, which was fun!" Follin has no other game projects lined up for the future, and it's entirely possible that Lemmings might be his video game swan song, so to speak. "It looks as though I might be heading for a change of career," he said. "I’ll just have to wait and see!"
And now he has also posted a farwell to video game music note on his website :(

Brother has been playing Drill Dozer like mad, but he let me try the second level... I really liked what I've played, though it takes a bit of time (like 10 minutes) to get used to the drilling mechanics. Looking forward to playing this one through when he's done.

Surprised at only a 6 for Peach... what's the problem, too easy?

But then again, this is the same mag that gave Gunstar Heroes a 6 =D

Mine will have to be issue 100 with the Miyamoto sketch. Or recently the red Revolution one was interesting as well as the Edge awards issue. Sometimes, like the PS3 issue last month, the cover can be rather generic. I never care too much for their reviews, but I love the features. They even got Si Scott to illustrate one of them last month, which shows their difference from any other games mag when it comes to style.

btw. dunno if anyone mentioned this, but there is now a searchable database for all of Edge's twelve years of reviews scores at Edge-Online itself.
