Savage had to juice pretty hard to get that big and to be a large enough guy to get pushed hard in Vince's big man 80s WWF. I remember after he died looking up interview vids of him on youtube and came across this one when he was 47/48 after he was done with WCW: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_M9-NTOz-A

Did a :\ face and was like shit, no wonder he died from a heart attack at 58

Oh I don't doubt that at all. However, his physique is still something that I can see being quite attainable, just a lot of work has to be put into it. I'm all for it though.

always amazed by this guy:

in his 20s:

in his 40s:

i think he has the ideal body cuz he's not too bulky(well those arms are still massive), so he has a flexible range of motion, yet also doesn't have a shred of fat o_O

I always laugh when people think MORE MUSCLE MEANS BETTER BODY. Bodybuilders (the bodybuilders of the last 50 years, anyways) have disgusting bodies and are super inefficient. They are useless for anything other than showboating.

And contrary to popular belief, women do not find bodybuilders attractive.

So what are the most natural ones here so far? I mean there seems to be some obvious roid abusers in much of this thread. I like those athlete ones a couple posts up from me.

Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, some of the athletes, the OT.

Then again, "natural" is loosely defined. Some of the athlete's probably train at special locations, sleep in high altitude tanks, have the best food prepared for them, have doctors available when needed for any injury, etc.

Quick question, but most of the pics being posted here are a result of steroid cycles?

All of the BB, some of the athletes, if I had to guess.

That's the nice thing conversationally about Eugene Sandow and other athletes pre-1958: you know they weren't on the juice because it wasn't widely available or even invented yet. There's a few exemptions in the 50's, but not much.

Steve Reeves is about as recent as you can get for a 100% verified drug-free physique.

Back when you had to have damn good genes and before bodies looked inhumane. The good ole days.

love your current avatar btw, i'm watching the show right now.

And another thing, just because a guy is small doesn't mean he hasn't used anabolic steroids. When you're in a weight-dependent sport like MMA or an actor looking to get fit quick, why not?

Then there's bigger guys that haven't partook but get mistaken for it anyways. It all goes back to the good ol' days being easier to sort out.

I'd say 1940s and before are pretty safe, some even consider the 1950s to be somewhat safe.

Dianabol one of the first synthetic steroids, wasn't even made until 1958 or 1959. By the 1960s I'd guess almost every professional Bodybuilder was using it.

Before that there was only testosterone, that's been around since the 1930s BUT no drug company was manufacturing testosterone until 1950.

So if someone was using test before 1950 they'd have to have a chemist custom make it for them. And they'd also have to have the knowledge WHY it'd be beneficial to use for muscle growth.

The History of Steroids in Bodybuilding

You've set the bar pretty low for best body in history.
Bodies have to be functional as well. Can't go do shit like Arnold jacked up, Craig's is actually perfect for in the bedroom as well

edit, although Zyzz's was pretty damn sweet as well at times

This "myth" that big muscles turn you into an immovable rock is stupid and old as shit.
