Elden Ring Nightreign |OT| Praise the Rain

Literally every region can be repurposed into it's own map, Caelid, Liurnia, Atlas Plateau, mix and match with Siofra area etc, all the content is already there, let's see if they do anything with it.
I doubt they do any that match the shifting earth events but the shadow of the erdtree stuff is clearly missing and perfect for a limgrave type map to set up the missing shadow of the erdtree items and bosses.

I picked this game up since they dropped the Duos patch. I'm playing on PS5 Pro, and even in 'prioritize frame rate' mode, this game chugs at times. On Reddit, many people have stated that since this patch, they have experienced massive slowdown, frame drops, and even freezing/crashing.

I haven't experienced the latter, but it does dip below the VRR window quite frequently.

Has anyone else experienced this since the newest patch?

It was shit before and it's shit now, not much of a difference that I've noticed...

Yes! Okay, thought I was just imagining it, but performance in general took a slight hit in heavy areas. Like when a lot of effects going off during day 2 boss or field bosses.

Btw if you want a slightly better fps average play the PS4 version on PS5. It's what I do. Even still it's not a rock solid 60 unfortunately.

I've just picked this game up on PS5 and wondering the best tips for first time play?
I don't want to frustrate other players.

Just follow your teammates around and slowly you'll learn everything. Ignore your needs if it means straying from the group the first runs, catching up to them at the start can be very confusing.
Raider or Wylder are good characters to start, you won't need to separate from the main group for spells.
Only bother with the purple smithing stone if you have an effect on your starting weapon that you need for the final boss.

If you're actually worried about letting your teammates down from not knowing anything, just play solo for a couple runs and learn the basic mechanics. After those couple runs, (hopefully) just let one of your teammates take charge and follow their pings on the map. You'll learn everything you need to know in no time.

'Deep of Night' is a high-difficulty mode that provides a thrilling and challenging adventure. We encourage you to try and see if you can surpass Depth 3.
Depths 4 to 5 will feature an endless battle for those seeking even greater thrills.

Fuck that weaksauce shit. It's your money. Fuck 'em. If they don't like t they can fukin leave. I have zero consideration for stupid randos.

Meh. I need real new content. Game desperately needs more run variety, more enemies, day 1 and 2 bosses, weapons, spells... They have a huge amount already made, why not use it....

Nightreign is my GOTY and I'm happy with everything I got out of it pre "deep night mode".

Curious for DLC but I'd rather have From Software work on a new title that plays like an expanded Nightreign but in a goth/dark mecha universe.

Think armored core with demons and cloaks. And Nightreign type coop gameplay/progression.

Dream game for me 😅

How's the dlc? The new characters look unique and interesting. Dreglord a hard boy?

So i tried the game again after months of break, but it still runs like shit. Almost constant stuttering and framedrops. I tried everything and nothing seems to work. Only this game, everything else runs so well on my PC. Im skipping the DLC because of this. Im tired of dealing with this issue. Game almost never locked 60, because of the eratic frametimes and half sec freezes/stutters

use lossless scaling adaptive frame gen with a target of 60 fps

DLC is pretty tough for us (duo) so far. Partially because a lot is new again (map, enemies) but also I think it's a step up in difficulty compared to the base game.

But we never were gud enough for DoN or the Everdark bosses so

The game is generally not well balanced for duos imo.

I looked it up again and... managed to fix it lol. It was core parking. I had to disable it and now its silky smooth locked 60 i cant believe it. Gonna buy the DLC now :D

I played this shit for 70+ hours with this abysmal performance

Tried three runs with the scholar and new shifting earth. Really good impressions overall, the new shifting earth is not what I expected at all, in a great way.

The Scholar is cool too, I like the idea of emphasizing items more (though I'm still really bad at utilizing them) and I can see him working well as a support.

He also seems particularly well suited against the first new Nightlord, which so far has been tough as nails.

Loving the DLC so far and can't wait to play more.

Beat the balancere on fourth try with Scholar. I somehow ended up with mega tank build with around (I'm guessing) 2k HP, greatshield and a thrusting sword with frost and scarlet rot. Even in phase two most hits did less than 30% of my HP.

Really sick fight and a great version of a multi-enemy boss fight IMO, though I'm not sure how well it works as solo or duo. Fighting 2-3 of them at a time feels suitably epic and intense.

Now trying to move through the Scholars remembrances and will probably wait a bit before trying the second new boss (to pace things out a bit).

I don't want to spoil, so I'll keep this vague--but the DLC adds a random invasion that is so obviously tuned for trios that I'm surprised they didn't adjust it for duos/solos.

the Balancers will invade and teleport the three player characters SEPARATELY to three different areas where you are fighting both that POI's boss and a Balancer solo. When playing duos, there are still three Balancers but only two of you. Time becomes a bigger factor on top of the fact you're fighting solo unless you hoof it over to your teammate for support and then back to the other areas.

Yo the new invasion is sick (at least for trios). I sucked at it but pulled through, I can really imagine that fucking up a run if you're not in the zone.

Also beat the second new Nightlord on second try with an absolutely perfect run. Level 15 with 200k runes to spare, was almost fully stocked up on max upgraded buffs and bombs with Scholar, while my teammates had some big old damage + we got the Rotten Woods (or whatever it is called) Shifting Earth for extra HP and Rot protection. What a sick ass boss, can't wait to listen to it's OST at work today.

PSA to anyone playing Scholar, go get that Boiled Crab, it's incredible at max level!

did they nerf the base bosses since July? We almost took down Darkdrift Knight at L10 on our first try and absolutely crushed at L12 / weapon L1 on the second go. That didn't happen with the previous bosses when I played in the summer

All of a sudden at some point a few months show I was able to best the night lords in a team of 3, it could be a nerfed or a bit of people getting good.

I still have yet to finish any on solo.

I've not gotten good

I really want to like this game but I've just no idea what I'm doing.
Is there a decent tutorial video anywhere?
Thanks.

£28 for a Steam Deluxe Edition key (includes the DLC) @ Shopto right now. Think I'll give it another shot. Got my arse handed to me when I played in the first weeks on PS5 but never really put much time in to it.
