EMINEM - MMLP2 |OT| They Call Me Slim Shady (I'm Back?)

Going to expect a bunch of dumb nonsensical, forced lines and pop collabs. The collapse of eminem and canibus broke my heart many years ago, it's something I'll never be able to understand. At least it got me to branch out into more genre's though and now I try to listen to every type of music.

As well as awful multi's that don't make any sense but are there just for the sake of rhyming. Like in his prime every line made sense and contributed to the overall point of the verse, each verse had an idea that he wanted to get across and the 3-4 verses contributed to the overall idea of the song.

Now that is for the most part completely gone. I can compare verses then and now and you can see striking differences, he just became insanely lazy on everything after 2003. Every line now is either A. a horrible simile/metaphor that are nowhere near the stuff he did on Infinite/sslp back when he used to try those kinds of lines, B. attempting to force SSLP personality out but failing because it isn't genuine, C. rhyming words for the sake of rhyming, something like 'going to the store to get bread, WANNA FIGHT? I'll use my fist to put a FORE in your HEAD (haha get it four fingers, forehead so witty/clever, I will never forget the window pain/pane line. It makes me cringe every time.), IMA SCREAM TILL THE CHORUS IS DEAD i'm a real emcee i'm back guys please believe me'

All of this with his very annoying monotonous screaming that he thinks is a cool rapper voice. Why can't he just use his normal voice like on eminem show (which I feel is his best album). I can't even bother getting into the pop collabs and overall softness of being nice for the sake of remaining popular rather than being an emcee and wanting to rip apart other people.
 
Didn't Xzibit announce Restless vol 2 and then chicken out and name his newest album something else.

No good can come from this.
 
I basically worship Eminem's first three (major-label) albums. Here's hoping for the best.

I do hope he does more intellectual raps like on Renegade, Sing for the Moment, etc. The fake-angry thing is grating. Oh, and please no more punchline rapping. Leave that shit to Lil Wayne.

That's still much better than 99% of rappers, though considering it's Eminem we are talking about it's very sad indeed. This being said, the only thing truly lacking in Recovery was the production; he gotta get rid of these monotone rock beats and get more consistent production.

Despite his obvious decline from his early great years, I still enjoy his music, even if not as much. Recovery is still better than 80% of the shit that gets released out there.
 
The most hilarious/annoying thing Em has ever said in recent years was that relapse was 'just a bunch of rap records' but recovery will have meaningful songs like in his earlier years.

Then the album came out and it was the exact opposite. Relapse is mostly garbage but it did have some attempts at real lyrics and seriousness. Recovery was just a whole bunch of nothing from beginning to end. I can't remember anything from it. Ever since Encore it's worse and worse. At least Encore has decent/good beats and he still knew how to flow properly without forcing shit, now he doesn't even have that on his side.

This is true. The rhymes on that album are excellent, even if the lyricism is boring and repetitive. Plus he still had flow. On Recovery it sounds like he's just blurting stuff out as fast as he can.

Oh, and Underground is so underrated. Love the part where he gets into a fight with slasher movie villains.

Relapse had some great storytelling.
 
MMLP is one of my favorite albums of all time. Cannot wait for this.
I have no expectations of it being better than just "ok" though.
 
Cool. I enjoyed Recovery to an extant, as well as Bad Meets Evil. But hopefully this Em will be more of the latter.

Cautiously optimistic.

This and Recovery were both a big step up from Relapse. Looking forward to it.

If I had to guess the initial teasers/songs will be the radio friendly ones.

Unless eminem has invented the time machine this album is going to be Meh. Naming it MMLP2 reeks of desperation and' look at me I am back to when I was good'. If he really believed in it he should have named it something else and let it stand on its own.
 
Less 'Love the Way You Lie' and more 'Kill You' I hope. That CoD song doesn't inspire hope.

Really, Em? MMLP2? Come onnnnnn.
