Is this game out? I have a couple people on my friends list playin' it right now.

I saw it today when I went to pick up Xenosaga III. I'll be picking it up later tonight.

the screen tearing in that video is horrendous. to those who have played the import version, is it distracting while playing the game?

I haven't bought an X360 game since November 15, 2005.

Yeah. Screw them for not renting every single games that are released.

I actually saw some kid buy this today. I was pretty surprised, game looks like a definite rental first. Then again, this kid was trading in N3 at the time, so he probably didn't have the best judgement.

Well at least the kid traded in terrible shit for something slightly less terrible shit

I'll end up picking it up eventually, but it'll have to take a back seat to some other games. $60 is just too much money to spend on something that isn't really a sure bet.

I got it from EB.com today, but I'm leaning towards sending it back.

I was really excited to play it though. I'm just right smack in the middle of Oblivion and FF7, so its probably not a good idea to tack on another long RPG.

Im about a bit over 4hrs. in, and so far I think it's a fairly good game. The battle system is fast and easy to understand, and the graphics can in some instances be very impressive. On the other hand, the story seems boring and not very interesting. Im already finding myself smashing the A button to try and skip through the text as fast as possible. The voice acting is also bad.

I think the whole golem(pokemon) collecting is going to be the major draw to the game. The variety definitely rocks. Everything from Pizza face guys to crazy anime looking mechs. I would say a 7.0 sounds about right so far for this game.

By the way, has anyone tried the online battles yet?

I think it looks wonderful, his problems arent problems for me. Also the gay guy isnt in most of the game.

That was my impression too. It came off like a standard "I actually have issues with the genre but I'll act like it is the games fault" GAF post.

I'll wait to read some reviews from other sites.

How's the localization? Anytime Ubi touches an RPG I cringe a little inside. Their target goals seem to be centered around the mid 1990s or so...

IGN gave it a 7.6 and they said that there is an option to use the original Japanese voice acting instead of the English dub which is nice. Apparently the Japanese voice acting is much better and makes the game more enjoyable. Sounds like a your typical average RPG and I really wasn't expecting much else. Not sure if I'll grab it or not.

Okay.. so english voice acting isnt bad on some characters.. but man.. Motako.. holy crap.. horrible..

Transvestite to the extreme (though i know its his/her character).

The game itself has a pretty bleh early story tbh.. I love how a cut scene has to appear to tell me "hit A" to climb the ladder.. =[

But all in all.. the videos are amazing..

The Queen of Ice

WHAT THE F KINDA GENERIC NAME IS THAT!

PSU or FFXI are going to be my j-RPG saviors on this system. And likely the last ones, too, until the Mistwalker games come out. I am NOT trying this game...

Seriously, the game's never struck me as having anything remotely interesting or worthwhile aside from good graphics and the luxury of being the first localized Japanese RPG on an Xbox-brand platform.

My interest is still geared towards Trusty Bell, Lost Odyssey, and Blue Dragon. And naturally, if it turns out to be true, tri-Ace's Infinite Undiscovery aka "Star Ocean 4 in all but name only." Oh! And Far East of Eden -- the first game in the series to ever come out here? That's definitely piqued my interest.
