Environment age: Why don't people use clothesline anymore?

I used to date a brazilian girl who's family all used clothelines. They had a large laundry room with big windows and a hanging clothesline/pully system that was kind of neat. Honestly, my clothes never felt as comfortable as they did when they were hung dried down there. They smelled awesome and felt great.

But, I just don't have any place to do that here. Besides, I'm incredibly lazy and wait to the last minute to do my laundry. Folding/hanging my clean clothes is a big enough chore.

lol all my clean clothes are in a box right now and once i need to wash some clothes i throw my clean clothes on my bed and then when i'm done cleaning the dirty clothes, i throw back the clean clothes on my bed back in the box with the newly cleaned clothes. this method has served me well for years

I've got a full line of laundry hanging outside.

During the winter, sometimes I'll even hang certain clothes in the basement.

Our washing machine is right next to the backdoor, so it's pretty easy to just set the basket outside and hang them on the line. Watching for rain and wind isn't really a problem, since you wouldn't hang clothes out when it looks like rain, or is terribly windy.

Usually though, when I bring the clothes in, I'll throw them in the dryer for 2 minutes or so, just to soften them up.

i agree it's a great idea, but my HOA would throw a fit. i'm sure it's probably a no-no in our housing covenants.
