Epic Games China Announces Mercenary Ops

Surely this is satire?

It looks like a big budgeted version of hundreds of F2P games you get in Taiwan, Korea and the rest of Asia. Hell, just looking at the videos now it looks like some shit I'd see advertised during a commercial break on Star Movies.

For some reason, it reminds me of 'Pariah' on the original Xbox. I have no idea why, perhaps because that game was devoid of any soul too.

It isn't F2P.
The game, published by new American publisher Delkans Publishing, is targeting a summer 2012 launch in the US and Europe, and it's intended to be a retail release. The team making it is largely composed of veterans of Ubisoft Shanghai who worked on Splinter Cell: Double Agent. It will be Epic Games China's first release.

Described as a blend of Counter-Strike, Gears of War and MGS:O.

Oh man, I remember that shit. I played it on PC.

Pro-tip to any devs out there: Never start your game with a high-pitched repetitive beeping noise. Especially if there are no visual indicators to why it's happening. I spent 10 mins testing if it was my soundcard fucking up before being informed by the internet that it was some sort of high-falutin' way of telling you that your health was low... and you literally start the game with low health.

Come to think of it, "Red Jam Vision" ain't so bad after all.

Came for the Sisqo, did not leave disappointed.

So... they announced the most generic shooter ever?

And seriously, woman merc with g-string showing? They're following the X-Blades school of character design, I see.

I wish someone would just make Game with China (modern, ancient) as a Setting besides the millions of MMOs...
And no. Kane&Lynch 2 doesnt count, because honestly... it didnt really look like Shanghai :(

I would love to see something like Assassins Creed in ancient Beijing, climbing through the forbidden City, going through the little alleys. Or travel to the beautiful landscape of Guilin... :(

On the topic: This game here looks really bland.

RETAIL RELEASE!?

Good luck with that Epic because this looks gener-o has hell. Infact I'm drowning in its own generic-ness as I type this

I love how the dudes are all in swat armor so thick they couldn't touch their toes if they tried but the girl gets a sleeveless top, hip huggers, and a g-string. At least they let her keep her boots and gave her a gun :|

It appears Epic didn't want them using the Epic China name anymore, and have renamed themselves Yingpei Games. Well done Epic.

Am I the only one laughing at the heels on the female's boots more than anything else? Seriously, how does that work? :lol

The front and the back of the female head don't match. from the front she almost looks like somebody from Coneheads, and from the back her head is flat and wide.

Everyone is going off on the undies, does that mean you missed the fact that her boots are on the wrong foot? Check it out, they fucked it all up.

Epic hasn't geared me wrong yet so I'm up to get this. The question is has Gears NA imported the quality to China?

HAHAHA Oh my god they totally did. Her boots are totally on the wrong foot! LOL

Is this a free to play shooter for the PC?

Not sure what to make of it. There's already Ghost Recon, Battlefield, and Crytek's upcoming F2P shooter that looks way better.
