Epic Rap Battles of History (Season Five)

Watched it 10 times. Still don't have a favorite between them; great lines from everybody.

Hell of a Season 2 for sure. The best was still MJ vs Elvis, but I loved most of them.

Great way to end a season. It's going to be tough to come out with even better stuff for season 3. Can not wait though.

Fantastic episode. I'm glad they didn't just stick with Rasputin and Stalin. Seeing the others pop in was fantastic.

"Did somebody say, birth marks?"
*cut to Gorbachev with a shit eating grin*

"Shook hands with both Ronalds, Reagan and Mcdonald. Knocked down that wall like the Kool-Aid guy...OH YEAH!!! You two need yoga, and you need a shower."

Wow, I'm impressed that these are still consistently awesome. Really enjoyed Skrillex vs Mozart recently, and that series finale definitely earned the term "EPIC"!

Anyone else find themselves singing them to themselves during the day?

I just gotta say, this last rap battle is my favorite, hands down. And there's so much clever / funny stuff in there. Some of the more clever / interesting ones (IMO):

RASPUTIN:

If you're the man of steel I spit kryptonite! -- I didn't know "Stalin" meant man of steel (Сталь (Stal') = steel)

STALIN:

Starve you for days til you waste away, -- Could be two references here: one would be the widespread civilian starvation deaths in Russia during the second great famine, the other could be an allusion to the march of Hitler through the USSR, where Stalin let his people burn down their towns so that hitlers troops starved to death because they didn’t get any supplies!

I even crush mother fuckers when I'm laid in state. -- When Stalin’s body was laid in state, the crowds were so large that they became unmanageable; after some of them panicked, it’s estimated that hundreds of people were crushed to death.

Pride of Lenin took Trotsky out of the picture, -- 1) Stalin outmaneuvered Trotsky into power, forcing him to flee, and he was ultimately assassinated in Mexico on Stalin’s orders (stabbed with an ice pick), AND 2) Stalin’s propaganda department censored photos and doctored out declared “enemies of the state”

GORBACHEV:

Knock knock knock knock. (as he enters) -- Multiple things going on here, stemming from the fact that he's known for allowing the tearing down of the Berlin wall: 1) When he delivers this line, he’s off-screen behind the backdrop of the video set, and literally tears open the wall when he enters. and 2) He breaks the fourth wall by cheesing for the camera when he enters.

PUTIN:

I spit hot borsch when I'm crushing these beats, -- Borsch is made from beetroots. :)

So good!

New one was pretty lame. Several lines didn't even rhyme and it seemed like a bunch of forced Disney jokes. Give up that battle as there is nothing more to say about those 2 characters.

Well, it does look like there won't be another one after that one ended.

I liked the beginning with the parody of RotJ, and some of the lines were decent, but you're right - some of them didn't flow well.

I did like seeing Boba Fett... and then Boba Fett dying so unceremoniously. :)

Woah, I thought it was JT Machinima behind Boba Fett. Turns out its Ray William Johnson O_o

A good start to a new season, im hoping Dan Bull shows up somehow.

One year from now you're going to see Robo Hilter. Hopefully the next one's better but I did enjoy this one.

That 'fired up' verse was amazing, don't even deny it.

Something felt off about Hitler and Vader's lines to me.

Boba Fett rapped better than both in the 5 seconds he appeared.
