eShop Selects: FAST Racing Neo and Steamworld Collection get physical release (EU)

Is there an ESRB logo on it? I've only seen pics of the box with PEGI ratings.
They didn't tweet out anything about regions or boxarts, just a screenshot.

I'd imagine that Rising Star Games won't automatically publish everything in NA that NoE publishes under the "eShop Selects" label in Europe.
Pretty much this. If NoA isn't doing this themselves, then there's a chance games published in this line might not get a release in NA.

If they come to the US, I'll buy 'em both. Those are good choices. Fast Racing Neo is an exclusive, and Steamworld Dig, at least, had some Nintendo references that were only in the Ninty versions.

Awesome news!

I haven't bought Steamworld Heist or FAST Racing Neo yet so I'd love to get the retail versions if they come to the US!

Nice, I honestly don't get the box art complaints. It does the job and it's not like i'll be looking at it much!

Same here. All things equal, I'd rather have a "normal" cover, but it's not that ugly, and it's faaaaar from being a deal breaker to me.
Day one for both.
I'll have to sell my SteamWorld Dig indiebox though, since I don't need both versions of the same game in a physical format.

Hope they bring us more digital gems, hopefully not limited to "Nintendo Console Only" games (Steamworld is a good sign)

I'm actually surprised there's not THAT much enthusiasm surrounding this piece of news. I hope it'll sell well enough...

I think confirmation of Fast Racing Neo for the US would help.

This I can get. Hope you guys will see it published.

well it is just a disc release of a game everyone can already buy now.

Sure, but a lot of collectors are appalled by the digitalization of games, I just thought more of them would have rejoiced.
Especially in the case of Nintendo eShop, with its close environment and the games anchored to the consoles themselves.

Getting SteamWorld Collection, 25€ seems like a good price. Altough I already have SteamWorld Dig, I rather buy this collection to support the developer and Nintendo for this kind of service. Hopefully there's more to come.

Call me when non-USK versions are up :P

Everyone's bitching about the cover art but I actually think it looks cool until you put that USK logo on there. It's even more intrusive here.

Yeah, seemingly Image & Form don't have to do anything with it as they got it rated, localised, and everything already for the digital release. I assume they simply don't really know the difference/don't care about it.

In the end, it's just the same as with Minecraft Wii U or Monster Hunter Generations. NoE takes over all of the duties for the physical release by distributing the title. In contrast to Teddy Together or the Layton games, they aren't responsible for the game ratings, localisation, and content though, which they did not only distribute but instead publish.

Just semantics.

If there was still any doubt:

So, are these games released this week? I have plaed some FAST Racing Neo, and got kinda tired about the colour switching, so waiting on that one. I need Steamworld though.

Yeah. This Friday. If you prefer ordered from Nintendo UK store you might get it early as the dispatched it on Tuesday.

I saw them in a store last saturday... so they definitely release this week !

Any mention of NA version of fast racing neo yet?

Good news for you!

NL: Are there plans to bring the retail version to North America?

Shinen: Currently not.

Have no WiiU. Still haven't played this.

NX port would be awesome.

Great news for you too!

Q: WhatÂ’s next for FAST Racing NEO since the only console it is playable on right now is supposedly going to be discontinued pretty soon? Could you decide to develop ports of this game for other platforms, like NintendoÂ’s very own NX (considering how much you feel close to this brand)? Or do you think that the game is better off left on the Wii U?

A: For the Wii U we think FAST + DLC is just perfect and certainly one of the best games you could get there. If we would do another FAST game on a new platform we would not simply do a port. We would try to look at the platform to see what could be done beyond the current game.

As much as I still don't like the broken AI in FRN, the new courses are sublime. Much better track design with amazing flow and less random death traps gimmicks. They also amped up the crazy loops, twists and corkscrews.

The opposite was true for me. The final new track has these fire beams appear randomly and you can only ever evade them right after the starting line. Fucking hate the track because of it. The Antarctica level kills you for boosting off of certain jump parts since you will end up crashing into the glass ceiling of the next section you're jumping onto. Playtesting these would've worked wonders. The track with those purple laser barriers that go on and off in a small section is also some real BS.

The DLC made me actively dislike the game as a singleplayer game.

Unlike all the prior tracks you can now see them long in advance and the width of the tracks makes evading much easier. The fire streams are visible long before you are close, although hard to see, i admit.

The Antarctica example I find to be ok, since its basic track knowleddge. Once you know not to boost at that point it's smooth sailing.

Still, as single player the game is still an unbalanced rubberbanding mess. Mp is tons of fun though.

The ones right at the start I can see and avoid. The ones killing me from the sides randomly later in the track I can't. Happened three times in one race last night. I was furious.

The new tracks are great for the most part, I relly enjoyed the forest one, Kuiper Belt, and some others. The Antartica track though, is completely boring and anti-climatic as a last track :(
