We are excited that MVP 06 was chosen to roll out the ESPN integration in a way that will completely redefine the gaming experience. Featuring a live ESPN Ticker recognizable from TV broadcasts, ESPN Radio Sportscenter updates every 20 minutes and news from ESPN.com, you'll stay completely up to date in the world of sports while you play.

The cornerstone for our ESPN integration is Online Everywhere. It's just what it sounds like, once you log in online you are always online every time you boot up MVP 06. While you're Online Everywhere, you can send messages through EA Messenger and get news from ESPN.com, but perhaps cooler is the ability to have a persistent ESPN ticker with up to date scores from all different sports that always run in the front end, in loading screens AND in gameplay! My favorite aspect of the ESPN Integration is the ESPN Radio Sportscenter updates. These update you on the latest happenings in sports recorded at the ESPN Radio studios and are pushed to your PS2 or XBOX every 20 minutes, and like the ticker - they are always current. In fact the scores on the ticker are often more accurate than some websites. All of this is available if you are Online Everywhere and it's free of charge.

Beginning with MVP 06 NCAA Baseball, it is definitely our goal to build upon our partnership and integrate ESPN content where it is relevant across all of our EA Sports franchises. Ultimately how ESPN is integrated into our EA Sports portfolio is going to be different on a title by title basis. There is not going to be a new blanket ESPN treatment that is given to all of our EA Sports franchises, but instead a mix of integrated content that is relevant on a sport by sport basis as approved by our league partners. While we expect to have some core features across the majority of our games, it has to make sense for that sport to make it into our games. Fight Night Round 3 and NFL Head Coach will be right behind MVP 06 with ESPN integration.

Are we sure it won't be on the 360?

Did you guys see pics of the new MLB2K6?

No pics from the 360 version yet but, man I'm pissed at the quality.

Where's the pics of the new MLB game? I haven't seen them.

I haven't been visually impressed by a baseball game since WSB2k1 on Dreamcast.

Well, MLB 2k5 had incredible presentation, but I wasn't wowed by the actual graphics.

i hope the 360 gets the treatment. i don't have one yet but i will by the time spring training rolls around. hell, at this point, i'd be happy with a straight port that had the higher HD resolution and some AA and AF added.

The ticker and the radio updates are a good idea, although after I have played a sports game for a couple of weeks I always turn down the volume and listen to the radio anyway. At $30 and with the inclusion of beautiful Oxford-University Stadium at Swayze Field among the twenty-four stadiums, this is a must-buy purchase.

Current EASports games have the ticker.

ESPN radio... I definitely don't need an update every 20 minutes. What if it's like wednesday afternoon during basketball/football/hockey season? I'd have to hear filler every 20 minutes because nothing is going on.

Thank GOD we didn't have this back during the TO saga. :lol

MINE! I played MVP again a couple of weeks ago at Circuit City and was reminded just how good that engine is. I am looking forward to this game, especially at 30 bucks.

I do have one question though, if I have a 360, which I don't, couldn't you just play it on there with the same online functionality?

oh damn good question. i wanna know this also.

It would be cool if the in-game announcer would say something like "and now for an update fromt he ESPN studios" when the broadcast interrupts the game. The potential here is very interesting.

well I just started playing Take Two's game... seeing how I don't get another pro game.. (unless MS and EA sign an exclusive first party contract for the xbox.. which is a damn good idea if I say so myself) and the presentation in MLB is head and shoulders better than almost any other sports game I played.. animations/franchise is another story...a sad story..

but I don't see EA really doing a good job with ESPN... hope they prove me wrong, but they have not yet...

Agreed. Both companies have work to do.

2k- Making a good baseball game.

EA- Having a sports game with a awesome presentation....I want NFL2k5 presentation for their madden/baseball games...anything less is unacceptable.

I can't wait. My real hope, reiterated again, is the the editors are good enough that we get fan made MLB content/rosters down the road.

This sucks so bad that they don't have the MLB license -_-
I just can't get excited about college teams.
At least it's 30 bucks, so of course I'll buy it anyway.

Why can't they make a game that looks good?

Seriously, look at that:

It's awful. I loved MVP 2005, but it looks like ass. Do they just not even try? Do they not see what the 2k games look like? Why can't we get a game that looks like 2k5 or better and plays like MVP?

Not to hijack the thread, but has there been any word on college football for the 360?

If so, is it EA exclusive or will 2K Sports do a game as well?

EA exclusive...and we should hear something about it next year, college football hasnt even ended yet.

I know, believe me, I know. Gonna be a great bowl week.

Dunno if I can go a whole 10 months without a new college football game, though.

This game is mine,I just hope I can play it on my 360.

you mean 7? NCAA comes out in July.

man, i hate college baseball but the gameplay looks to good for me to pass up. EA is getting $30 from me.

Your brother's band is signed to Victory records?

I'm excited that Victory got such a good deal! Bayside, my favorite local band is on the soundtrack too. I love those guys, their drummer went to St. John's. I believe SJU is in this game!

MLB 2k6 looks like garbage.

If it sucks as much as 2k5 did, I'm going to be pissed.

Looks pretty good to me, for Xbox/PS2. The bat actually looks like a bat and not a popsicle stick.

That engine has been pushed as far as it can go, bring on the next-generation versions.

I love the idea of the ticker. Not so interested in the game. I hope the postgame can have commentary from Sportscenter hosts. I mean, they can integrate it into the highlight reel the way they do color commentary. I'd like to hear some of the catchphrases as I trample someone in Madden. ;) PEACE.

2K Sports by far, needs the most work in the graphics department.

More comparing. MVP's been great ever since Canada took over developing.

Hmmm ... should be interesting to see how quickly (if at all) the ESPN Radio updates become stale and tiresome.

Well if you listen to ESPN radio for more than an hour they become tiresome because once you know who won all the NBA/NHL games and what TO/Artest/Yankess-Red Sox did that day it's pretty redundant.

If you are going to do an image comparison at least use the same view for each. How on earth you get MVP 05 or 06 as looking better then ESPN 2K5 is beyond me. Hey, I will give you that MVP 05 plays a great game of baseball but in graphics and presentation ESPN blows it out of the water. Real time shadows FTW. ;)

Give me MVP 06 with ESPN presentation and graphics and I am a happy camper as I prefer college baseball.

Sarcasm? I hope.

it is true. The faces looks great in MLB2k.. but the bodies look like crap.. and what is up with the non-real players who are black and have WHITE hands? Plus the hands look... just...flatout wrong. like frozen turkeys with fingers

No, do you have 2k5? The faces are the worst part about the asthetics.

The graphics in 2k5 are far from perfect, but MVP's graphics are pretty shitty, to be blunt.

I don't know about non-real players who are black with white hands as I played with real players (hence the MLB license).

The two games aren't comparable, visually.

What can we say about animation though?

Animation in MVP is spectacular. Everytime I play I see something new.

The faces in 2K look horrendous. I don't know why people think MVP isn't something special---the faces, fingers, mouth movements....they're great.

make your baseball game nice looking and you'll get good scores. the presentation of mvp 2004 and MLB2k5 got them both scores they don't deserve. Idiot reviewers.
