This doesn't look that bad for $20... if it's anything like the old Genesis NHL games I might actually pick this up...

The ESPN NHL series is the most realistic hockey games ever made. ESPN NHL 2K4 was great but had some problems... NHL 2K5 looks to have upped the ante quite considerably

Wtf is that supposed to mean? It's 20 freakin dollars for the best hockey game of all time. And if you're talking about graphics, they're awesome.

Two more weeks.

TWO MORE WEEKS!

Hockey nirvana is almost upon us. Unlike NFL, ESPN's NHL series has never let us down. All hail!

Wow, I feel bad for that little CPU Scout who's doing the 2 day swing through China, Japan and South Korea. Even for a make-believe scouting trip in a fantasy enviroment for a video game simulation it seems like a waste of time. ;)

Damn damn damn everything about it looks so fun. All the cool franchise stuff I wanted last year, but with polish.

Oh, one more thing: I BETTER HAVE THE OPTION TO CHANGE THE FREQUENCY OF INJURIES DURING MY SEASON

ridiculous man, 2K4 looked like a freakin' M.A.S.H. unit

Yeah, but is that only functional when setting up a season, or during the season itself? Once you set it in 2K4, you couldn't go back without creating a brand new season. Madness.

Hmm good question, we'll to have to wait and see. I hate playing with injuries so I'll probably shut it down completely and never worry about it again.

the season I played didn't seem too heavy on the injuries at all. There were a few, and I probably had two or so players out at once a few times, but nothing major.

ill probably end up getting most if not all of the ESPN 2k5 series.. have football and its amazing... is baseball $20 yet?

when is espn nba coming out?

....it's sad when you hear those types of comments.." meh for $20 i guess i'll let myself be content with a "ghetto" game like this. ESPN NHL is THE best hockey game around hell it deserves a 69.99 price tag...well no game does but you know what i mean. I'm tired of people thinking these games are budget titles.

SEGA's hockey franchise is the best one they have! Well, according to me....who hardly plays football games.

Anybody else think Sega should tackle soccer?! Be the first to try and really ram it down Americans throats?

Anyways, I have a GAMECUBE. No 2K5 for me. Goddamn you Nintendo.

I don't think there's a single person left who would pit the two series against each other. Sega clearly wins out.

But still, the 'best hockey series out there' attribute is only so valuable. I think NHL 2K could be a whole lot better. I don't think the series truly captures what hockey is like yet. Granted, it is a particularly difficult sport to simulate.

Konami's already done that. I would still like Sega to try their hand (again) at a soccer sim, if only to push the WE/PES series harder. I'm sure that FIFA's recent strides have been influential.

Thanks.

Hmm I hear our stores should get it from anywhere between 21-24th. The "sources" could be wrong though.

Looks $&#&#in swweeeet!

And yes Socreges, curling would have been sweet. :) I agree, despite being the closest thing to hockey, it can get a whole lot better (without losing it's fun).

Yeah that was an awful, awful feature of the season mode. Couldn't adjust the difficulty either which was the major culprit for me.

I will most likely be picking this up. 2k4 had some issues but I got past them and at 20 bucks, this might be too hard to pass up.

Yeah, I think I just might pick up this game... I remember enjoying the old NHL games on the Genesis, and this seems to have similar gameplay. The eyes on that guy in the first picture are a little freaky though :p

Does this game have the option to create your own team, like players, logos, etc? I'll turn the Islanders into a good team again :p
