But always go for the legit stuff from Vietnamese delis and the like. Anything else is just trying to be fancy and is not even nearly as good as the most basic and common stuff.

Also Tex Mex food =/= Mexican food as most of the time people tend to think. Specially Americans.

That's obvious, Mexican food is acclaimed worldwide. But Spanish food in general is a blander, less flavorful version of Hispanic food in general.

Having the best restaurant in the world is not equivalent to having the best cuisine, or even good cuisine for that matter.
I know it's not super ethnic, but it was something I hadn't ever found living in Los Angeles, and it was a hole in a the wall place where I first had it looking for sandwiches.
Oh yeah. I've had more, and found it when made mixed in with their traditional meat type dishes to be so delicious.

Also, hummus is the greatest dip/sauce ever. When I make burgers at home, I don't use garbage like ketchup or mayo. I use HUMMUS.
I could eat hummus with a spoon, on it's own. So damn good.

Yes, they have Jollibee and Red Ribbon in CA as well as in VA Beach. But real Flip food, just wouldn't fly in the states :|
There's a few resturants here and there, but its not like I can whip up a batch of dinuguan for a potluck and people will go gaga over it.
Hell even Adobo and Pancit is looked as "What the fuck is that" when I make it for potlucks. The only thing Americans ever seem to like is Lumpia Shanghai.
My Aunt had two Lechons for my little brother's wedding. When me and my wife get the "Catholic" wedding done in the Philippines that our parents demand, I will demand a Lechon in return ;P
Seriously though, dat skin, that meat, dat fat, it just friggan melts.

Exactly. Jollibee is Filipino McDonalds. Its burgers and the closest you'd get to "real filipino" food is "Bistek and rice" which is basically salisbury steak and rice. We got it from americans.
The Mango Pie is tits though, they fry it like they used to at McDonalds. Baked McDonalds pies are only stomachable if they're sweet potatoe like they have here in Atlanta.
As for ethnic food that isn't my own ethnicity, I'd say my favorite is Lebanese food. Holy crap they make some bomb food.

It's for the best. Filipino food will kill most of the less sturdy races. Also it's ugly and should remain so. Don't get me wrong, tastes amazing but whenever I see someone attempt to add too much presentation to any Filipino dish I'm disgusted. And it can be iffy when presenting it to someone unfamiliar with the cuisine. Papaitan is especially hard to convince someone else to try.

There's been European food posted.... Hell there's even American style pancakes posted on the first page...
Anyway, it's hard to pick but the first few that come to mind:
1) Afghan - omg I want some mantu and firni so bad right now
2) Peruvian - can't beat anticuchos and chupe de camarones. I haven't had it yet but I also want to eat some cuy so bad.
3) Russian - dude, best delis EVER ( cured meats, cheeses, all sorts of smoked fish, tongue, borsch, blintzes, pierogis, shashlyk, HERRING...they've got it all). And added bonus - it's usually CHEAP.
4) Brazilian - definitely agree about churrascaria. And OMG pao de queijo... I can seriously eat those all day. No joke. I don't even like bread.
I don't feel Japanese food belongs in this thread. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE Japanese food but it gets PLENTY of love everywhere and at all times by just about everyone.
