EU PSN: Save big on Destiny this weekend

Fair point, I missed that. But still, the raids where by far the best point of the game. I'm really not sure I could even recommend Destiny if you're not going to play the raids.

I dunno, I enjoy destiny and I have never really been able to do the raids due to lack of matchmaking

I had to go out of my way heavily to do raids. LFG sites and all.

It made me a great Merc though, I could fill just about any spot that wasn't a defender Titan (because I never leveled a Titan).

I only ever played the Vault of Glass and it was definitely the highlight of my time with the game. It had an air of mystery and adventure to it that the normal levels didn't. It actually required some strategy to complete as well.

Is there party matchmaking?(for raids esp) I abandoned this game shortly after launch and that was one of my biggest bugbears.

Bought rise of iron. I would have bought the collection to have it digital but it doesn't let me since I own the taken king.

I'm back in Destiny!

Had that problem with Mirrors Edge Catalyst not letting me play the game digitally without inserting the disk.(i also owned it physically)

I deleted the game (minus the save data) then reinstalled the whole game as a download and now it works fine. Not sure why though. Must be a quirk

How do you go about playing these?
Do you beat Destiny and then move on to dlc 1, then 2 etc or is it all mixed in to the main game?
How long is it just solo? I saw Kyle Bosman say he saw the credits in 2 hours.

You have quests that will point towards the next missions of that quests storyline. There's a quest for the original missions and then more for the new stuff.

There's a lot to do in the game currently.

From memory Its about 20 hours total. (Without raids) I think Rise of Iron is about 2 hours its really short. The game gives you level boosters if you buy the collection so you can start at the begining of each new expansion should you want.

My Advice. Just start the main campaign with a Defender Titan.(Helps for finding raid groups) And complete the Vanilla Destiny campaign. Then Switch classes and try starting either a Hunter or Warlock for TTK using the boosts you got from buying the whole collection.

Edit: not sure about how the current balance is, but Yes Destiny is perfectly fine as a single player game. Its basically like playing Mass Effect meets Borderlands with a level select screen.

Damn,I might just bite if they do the same sale on NA store. I always thought their dlc was overpriced, but this is a good deal.

Is there any matchmaking co-op stuff in Destiny? I know not the big raids but there is PUG co-oping of some sort, right?

So I can't buy the collection if I already own TTK? How silly. I want the whole thing digitally but Activision clearly doesn't want my money.

If you haven't played Destiny at all or just played base Destiny, then The Collection is an amazing deal. The amount of game you'll get within it will pretty much hold you over for the next 5 months until D2 releases. Destiny is currently at its absolute finest with the grind being very rewarding and a lot of fun. This is the time to jump in you haven't already. There's just an insane amount of content here for ÂŁ21.

My friends and I gave up on Destiny after house of Wolves dropped (it was ok but not enough to keep us going), but for ÂŁ21 for the entire collection we've all re-bought to get involved before Destiny 2 drops.

Looking forward to playing taken king etc, I loaded it up last night and got all nostalgic over the menu music, my ship in orbit, seeing my warlock in his chatterwhite shader....will have a proper play tonight, it's going to take a while to get up to speed with all the changes.

Year 1 Destiny was brilliant.

Exact same situation.

Count me in too

For whatever reason, they seem really averse to letting people own the base game digitally. The same thing happened around the time of The Taken King and the vanilla game.

Perhaps they don't want lots of physical discs traded in? As the disc version of Destiny only contains the base game with no DLC or patches, so it's pretty worthless without everything else.

Well, it's not really a surprise. Plenty of people probably didn't buy this after TKK and Bungie wants to exploit that market.

Does Bungie set the price on these? Somehow I doubt it.

Is Destiny good as a single player game? how many hours are we talking?

It's definitely BETTER with more people, but it's not bad as a single-player title. The shooting and mechanics are still rock solid. Playing just the single-player stuff and ignoring the Strikes and Raids and whatnot, you'll probably get... 18 hours of straight content? That feels about right. People will say it's terrible, but that's the same hyperbole that is around any game. It's very much a 7/10 experience without anyone else.

Ok, so I've just bought this collection on the PS Store.

What I don't understand is why the DLC isn't being downloaded too? Unless I'm mistaken, I can only see the main game "Destiny" being downloaded. In the download list, Destiny rise of iron doesn't have a download button, neither does the "Iron Gjallarhorn".

The taken king has the download button, but when I press it, it doesn't do anything.

Have I been spooked?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding how DLC works, and I need the base game installed first before it'll let me install the others? Or will it install all 5 parts in order?

If someone could shed light on this, I'd appreciate it. =]

I don't believe you have to download the DLC's for Destiny. They'll be included in the main games files.

Oh cool, I still don't have Rise of Iron, this seems like a good opportuni...

Well fuck that!

yea, it's shit like this that always pisses me off and makes me wonder when I should actually buy the game. I bought the physical edition on release, and when the Taken King came out I decided to buy the digital version of the 'complete' edition. Now there's RoI expansion which is still freaking overpriced even with the so called discount.

I enjoy Destiny, but shit like this is making me wonder if I should just wait with getting Destiny 2 until all the expansions have been released.

Sucks they didn't have this deal in NA this week.

Destiny 2 announcement finally has me excited to catch up on the expansions, but that shit is still too pricey for me.
