Didn't GAF already deduce that the AMD wins were the Neo, Scorpio, and XB1 S?
Do someone knows why Emily didn't reveal this before?
She told it before that it would be closer to xbox1.
She changed her mind and reveal this +/- one month before it would be revealed?
10K at least claims to have three specific sources, though he hasn't exactly kept his story straight beyond that (he earlier tweeted that said sources knew nothing about the hybrid that Eurogamer et al. were reporting on; now he claims to know that they're reporting on old prototype dev kits).
I just don't get it. I mean, the guy struck gold with the one leak he had. Now he seems to have gone off the deep end. I'm puzzled. It makes zero sense to me.
I mean, yeah, if he's right here he's going to have a field day. I just think with how many sources are confirming the Eurogamer leak, there's like a 0.01% chance he's right.

Now you can see why my previous article said, "NX is closer to XB1 than PS4...but even that might be stretching it?"
What is 10k saying now in comparison to the Eurogamer leak?
So, significantly better than current disc-based games?
What I like about this is that means that all of Nintendo's dev teams will only have to work on one console.

I wouldn't take her word as a gospel, she was wrong about Mother 3, and that was recent :/Do someone knows why Emily didn't reveal this before?

I think the idea is that in low wattage handheld mode the game would display at (for example) a native 540p, but when plugged into console mode it'd render at native 1080p. Nintendo has a recent patent on games detecting different hardware configs and performing accordingly.I'm afraid that TV screen output resolution will be a deal breaker for me, no way I will play a lower than 720p blowed up, even if it has nicer graphics than Wii U.
Resolutions lower than 720p on handheld are perfectly acceptable, but no in a TV screen.

You're assuming she knew what it was before.
SeptemberSo we're talking that it's just a matter of weeks or maybe days until someone leaks actual pics of the console???

Depends on the type of cartridge. Most people claiming HDDs are faster are basing that off comparisons with things like sd cards rather than dedicated gaming rom.All current disc based systems except for the WiiU install their game on the HDD. The cartridges won't load any faster than that.
Lol, well it's almost Aug.
One thing if EG is correct, we could expect an announcement in AUG from Nintendo when they will show the NX, not?
It would be strange if they just reveal it the day/week before they announce it, something important like this.
Aside from obvious first party exclusivity, I wonder how many of the third parties (like Capcom or Square Enix i.e. Japanese third party) will release their games as sole exclusives to the NX. This is an era where releasing a game as an exclusive to one console without funding by the console manufacturer is basically a death sentence thanks to higher budgets, and I imagine the NX will increase the budget needed to make games pretty damn highly thanks to its rather beefy specs compared to its predecessor (keep in mind the damn thing's supposedly beefy enough to run a home console Zelda game on it). I imagine even series like Bravely Default might find themselves releasing on other consoles/PC (since it seems like every other Japanese dev is jumping on PC) unless Nintendo pays them to stay exclusive, since said projects will want to make their money back. I imagine the more low budget clearly handheld centric efforts will stay as handheld exclusive, but I imagine the more medium to high budget projects (basically, games that can work fairly well as both a handheld or home console game, I'll include things like JRPGs here) to find themselves released elsewhere, either at the same time or ported afterwards (unless Nintendo pays them to stay exclusive or the series is practically joined at the hip with Nintendo like Monster Hunter).
So what I'm saying is, is that I bet everyone who likes Japanese games will be a winner thanks to the NX existing, since there'll likely be lots of Japanese support for the NX, and quite a bit of that support may also release their games on other consoles without having to deal with the stigma of "Ew, handheld games on a home console" (since well, the NX itself is also technically a home console as well, and I've seen people comment on things like this way too much in regards to games releasing on both the Vita and the PS4) so those who like Japanese games but don't own a Nintendo might also benefit as well.
Probably... none of them? Why would anyone do this?
Pretty sure that he's talking about handheld games.
No way they do it like that, they will def announce maybe at least by a week or more before they do the reveal, also the press will get invite early too
Could you link this patent? Maybe not GF, but yeah, I imagine most have at least a project in the works for it.What I like about this is that means that all of Nintendo's dev teams will only have to work on one console.

A lot of them did on 3DS. Capcom put out a ton of exclusive Monster Hunter games, SE put out KH3D (which is getting a port, but was exclusive until then) and a few other titlesProbably... none of them? Why would anyone do this?
I hope it'll be early in September.

I thought it was part of the SCD patent but now I can't find it? :/Could you link this patent? I forgot about this or completely missed it.
Multiple sources have agreed that Eurogamer is based on truth about the NX.If that Eurogamer info is fake, i dont think GAF will trust anymore sources LOL
It's a huge misconception to say 3DS games were made because it was cheap to develop. 3DS games were made because it absolutely dominated(still does) the non-smartphone market in Japan. The "PS ecosystem" came about because PS4 hasn't been as strong as hoped in Japan and Vita is dead in the west.
There will be more overlap than in the past but there's still going to be exclusives for each platform/ecosystem.
If Unseen64 is to be believed, they didn't start on their project until a few months later after a couple of pitches. In either case, let's assume it'll be 3 years in development by the end of 2017Wasn't Tropical Freeze already done in 2013? Nintendo bumped the release into 2014 because they didn't want 3D World and Tropical Freeze to compete with each other. Means Retro has been working on their new game ever since late 2013... maybe?
It would be hilarious if what 10k has been saying turns out true in the end.10K at least claims to have three specific sources, though he hasn't exactly kept his story straight beyond that (he earlier tweeted that said sources knew nothing about the hybrid that Eurogamer et al. were reporting on; now he claims to know that they're reporting on old prototype dev kits).

More like they wanted to cover up that WiiU had yet another year (2014) in which the first two quarters literally had no big games coming out. Anyway, it certainly was a marketing strategic delay.
I don't think anyone said the sole reason 3DS games were made was because it was cheap to develop for. It was one reason of several, another of which was what you said, it dominated the market over there. With that said, games will likely be a lot more expensive to develop, and how much the NX will dominate in today's market is a total crapshoot until we start seeing sales numbers. There will definitely be more overlap though, alongside the typical exclusives as you say.
More reliable. No moving parts, smaller footprint.
i was trying earlier today to get some discussion going about it. But the crudely nature of the drawing prevented any chance it had i guess:

The use of the Free Form Screen would have an important impact in the screen size in relation to the volume of the system. It also would accomodate the detachable controllers with less width usage.
It would be also help to set the device apart. im not sure is on Nintendo's best interest for people to mistake the Hybrid with just another Tablet or big Smart Phone.
Another nice thing to consider (see number 3 in fig.) is that Detachable controllers could be hiding the vents in the distance case that the base have active cooling like some people are speculating. Could be used as air in/outtakes when is in the dock.
Will it at least be more powerful than Wii U?
I'm all for it, but I don't want a weaker system.
It being portable makes me feel like we'll get something that isn't too capable.
Hold up, ain't Breath of The Wild rumored to be on this thing? :O
I'm having a hard time picturing that running on a handheld...
Yes. The Wii U was woefully underpowered 4 years ago.
Most estimates have it running with 2-3x more power then the Wii U as a portable
I could see this happening. Tbh everybody here who's speculating is thinking to basic I guess is the word I would use. I think Nintendo is doing something none of us are expecting because that's who Nintendo is and if they do some free form display mixed with unique controllers with scrollable shoulder buttons would make sense because it's Nintendo lol. I'm actually hoping for the free form display, but my only worry is how cheap can they get it for?
