I was thinking that if what said Baron Aloha was true, we could each generate a lists of 100+ codes and keep sharing them with each other. For example, guy A and guy B makes a list and when they are done with their lists, they enter the codes themselves and then swap lists with each other. Better than making 200 by yourself. =P

What everyone should do if they want to win is generate 500 codes for yourself and a relative (like your dad). Create yahoo accounts for each of you. Register your yahoo account address as your work address (hopefully you will be able to receive mail at work). Register your relative's address as your home address.

Pick a drawing well in advance. Enter both sets of 500 codes. The high number of codes entered should discourage other people from entering.

The drawing will come along and chances are you'll win.

Give the page a few seconds to completely load. Make sure the countdown timer has ticked off at least a few seconds before hitting submit.

I think that has to do with the traffic on their website. There's probably thousands(maybe even millions?) of people jamming in codes every 10 minutes. =P

Just keep trying and it will go in eventually.

If they were smart they would. This is the kind of thing that keeps people like me from purchasing a pepsi since the odds are mounting, and that of course is the ultimate goal of the promotion, to sell pepsi.

Look in the account history. They can see if you went nuts and entered 100 codes within an hour. They could potentially know whether or not the code was from a cap or from the Mt. Dew newsletter. With like 9000 xboxes being given away a few could slip through the cracks, but if this is abused widely shit could hit the fan. Anyone paying attention to other forums? Are other people on to this?
 
In your account history it tracks the time you enter each code. Maybe entering piles of codes at once isn't such a good idea.

Actually that's illegal to force people to buy Pepsi to participate in the contest, that's why they have to put in all these no purchase necessary clauses:

In any of these contests they can't actually require you to buy anything to participate. You can send away for as many free codes as you want by mail. The Target mailing address gives you 3 codes per envelope. In Vermont they can't even require you to put postage on the envelope, which means it costs them money for you to participate in this contest if you live in Vermont.
 
Then again, how the hell would they know how your'e getting the codes? Anyone could just stockpile them from soda caps and enter them at once.

So let's see, how would they have ever checked the cap of a legitimate code from the mountain do referral page sent to a legitimate email? You don't need the cap. So maybe say 6 every 10 minutes.. that could work right? It's nothing shocking in ammount to bring in the microscope and you could play all day. Also, would they check the referral page to see if any code of their's is sent to an account that's legit? I doubt it unless one guy through 100 or more on a drawing. I mean, those codes are all legit. An email account bound to a specific code would be hard to track with all the incoming. I just don't see how they would determine something a fraud.

Not for email which they do offer. That's hands off and easy.
 
They also cover their butts on distributing the codes through other means:

I believe I also read in the newsletter that later on in the contest they will eventually start distributing 5 codes at a time to people who subscribe to it.

It's possible the way the code is formatted that they could tell the difference between a cap code and a dewsletter code. Or all the codes that the dewsletter generates might be kept track of.

Entering 100+ codes in an hour isn't going to disqualify you off the bat, but it could draw attention if you won.

I understand the basic rules and regulations that apply to these sorts of contests, in fact I explained as much to someone earlier in this thread.

The fact that they cannot legally require you to purchase product to enter the contest does not negate the fact that the contest's end purpose is still to generate sales. That is not a logic gap.

And BTW, they don't need sophisticated tracking schemes to realize that something fishy is up, they can simply notice that they are receiving significantly more referall codes (or codes in general) than they had anticipated, or they could browse a forum like GA (don't kid yourselves into thinking you are the only L33T L00pH0L3 F1ND4R5 on the net) and say, "shit, this wasn't our intent at all" and end the referalls.

What evs. I don't "care" on any personal level, its just discouraging that I may have to engage in potentiall fraudulent activities to maintain a competively even field.

I feel like a proffessional athelete considering steroids ;)

:lol :lol "System worth up to $1000. Puts real life to shame. Toy Story like graphics!". Anyway, I should give this thing a try. I mean, it's out there. I don't think it'd be wise to throw 500 on one but there's nothing illegitimate about this really. Outside.. what? You get a code off their website and they don't keep track of the email or any of that information. Where do you connect the two? This being legally wrong anyway considering know information of the email that the code is sent to is left.

Additionally there does not seem to be substantially more codes now than there was last night in any given contest. My guess is that people started duping before the first drawing even took place.

he was really hyped about it...

he said he used 70 codes

edit: another friend says he won earlier today... 100 codes

Blah. I don't think I'd ever win. I won a Dreamcast from planetg-hop.com(rest in peace) before. They were giving away 12 for christmas. You were allowed to send in as many entries as you wanted. I just clicked reload on the form for a looooooooong time. I was the first one picked and they said I had something like 26,000 entires. :D


I'll probably just play no more than 5 - 10 codes per every 10 minutes.
 
If TeamXbox or some other major Xbox forum does a similar contest, I'm sure there will be a much greater chance of winning.

After each round is over, check the "winners board" to see if your initials and state pop up there. Then you have to wait 72 hours for an e-mail confirming that was indeed you.

I was really just thinking that it was gonna be the sort of contest where you look under the cap, and if it says you won, then you won. I had no idea that there were codes and drawings and referrals involved. They really want to get people addicted, and it'll probably work.

And someone over at the TXB forum is claiming that they won, but you really can't be sure with those boneheads. The 72 hour wait is probably to check people's codes that they entered and whatnot, to make sure everything was legit.

TeamXbox forumers have actually been sharing e-mails. This place opted immediately to scam the crap out of it.

Of course, I don't think the people overseeing this contest care. I mean, why else would they give you 500 chances to win? $500 worth of Pepsi in two months? Yeah right.
