Every PS1 game in one 2-hour video

Yet again, we all see that 2d stands the test of time infinitely better than 3d, especially in these 1st and 2nd generations of 3d.

Such a cool video. It's like a time capsule in video form. I'm entranced.

It was a time when small, medium, and big companies alike could all afford to throw their hats in the ring and release a retail game. So much diversity back then, and the risks weren't too high for developers to experiment wildly with concepts, control methods... etc. I miss it.

PS1 library > PS2 library

But luckily every single ps2 could play ps1 games so therefore

PS1+2 library > all

3D playstation games never looked good anyway except some titles like FFIX

Still the greatest console of all time, no matter how badly the graphics for many of its games have aged.

It had some really good games but to call it the greatest console of all time, lol

3xtreme 3 damn did I play the shit out of that
Akuji the Heartless holy shit I have forgotten I played that game
The number of army men games that were actually released blew my mind, I thought there were only 3

I don't think it's that cut and dry. For instance, I think the first 3D Final Fantasy's are far more visually stimulating than the sprite-based graphics of previous installments (ignoring the lego block characters of VII of course). And then you've got the likes of the Crash games, Spyro the Dragon, Vagrant Story and Fear Effect which still hold up well. Good art direction can go a long way, even in an early 3D game.

What would you say is the greatest console then?

man, there were just not enough fishing games!

also, there were two contra games on the ps1? was C: Contra Adventure just an ugly-ass polygon version of the NES original?

What a great video.

The Music in Championship Bass is great. (19:50 o so)

Same with "Chess" 20:18.

Also love that it's in alpha order because you get to watch the decline of some once great franchises...

Coolboarders 1, 2, 3, 4 and 2001, with 2 being the best.
Twisted Metal 1, 2, 3, 4, with 2 being the best.
Jet Moto 1, 2, 3, ... 4 ? With 2 or 1 being the best.

The cuts through Madden 97 - 2005 are awesome too because they generally show 1 full scoring drive throughout 8 years of games.

So many memories, form FF series to the glorious and now missed Wipeout series.

I would love a new Wipeout, it will never happen or a Rollcage successor.

Also GTA was amazing fun top down, need Hotline Miami to copy it for a kick ass game.

Also did not realise how many Football games the PS had!

indie games provide you with the same thing, nowadays.

I'm 14min into it and I want to run home and hook my Playstation up. Oh and my god I didn't realize how many damn Army Men games released on that console!

My God, there was a lot of Disney games on PS1.

It had some really good games but to call it the greatest console of all time, lol

It's personal opinion, but I don't think it's that much of a stretch for someone to pick the PS1 as their favorite. It's certainly in most people's top 10, if not top 5.

Perfect set up, lol.

This video has reminded me of the seemingly endless number of Army Men games that released on all platforms. Holy shit. o_O

God, I hated the Army Men games. I'm in the "B's" now. Lotta Bass Fishin' games.

Such an ugly collection of games. But I love it.

I also miss when we used to have variety in sports games.

Oh look Bubsy 3D.... And Burning Road... the closest thing that the PS1 had to a Daytona game.

C: The Contra Adventure. That was dark times for Contra... but I guess it still is dark times for Contra.

Those Motocross racing games with their Nu Metal soundtracks...

I used to play the shit out of Red Alert on the PS1. Then I got a newer PC and forgot all about the PS1 version.

So many Barbie games too.

Into the Disney games now. They were smart for appending "Disney" in front of all their games.

Sadly since this video is about US only games it won't include the masterpiece known as SPEED POWER GUNBIKE.

I really wish the video included all PS1 releases but considering it was all done recorded with real copies I guess it'd be an insurmountable task.

The PSone really is one of those platforms where you seem to always learn about a new game that you'd never heard of before. And SPG is one of those games for me. Now I want to track it down. Doing a search also shows two surprising results. One is that it's a Sony IP and the other is that it was the first game that Inti Creates ever made.
