Every Xbox One Includes a Chat Headset!! + Xbox One Day One Unboxing

The flip side is, if it wasn't specified, people (possibly even you) would decry that its probably an old 1.3a type cable and shout it from the rooftops. Its just clarification, more info is always better.

I think it's always better to explain exactly what's in the box. Even if it means going a little overboard with your explanation.

Corporate people can do a good unboxing, but they need to do it like Iwata unboxed the Wii U. He put gloves on, went very slow, and honestly did it very erotically. Major Nelson will have to work on it.

A 1.3a cable is the same as a 1.4 cable. There are only three kinds of hdmi cables, standard cables that no one sells anymore, highspeed cables that support up to 4k resolutions, and highspeed cables with ethernet which are not that common because network over hdmi hasn't really taken off.

Technically you aren't even allowed to market hdmi cables as being "1.4" or "1.3b" because those spec revisions refer to devices, not cables. To avoid infringing on your hdmi license you can only advertise your cables as standard, highspeed or highspeed with ethernet.

Saying "we've included a highspeed hdmi cable" is as precise as they needed to be.

Good news on both the wire and the headset. This will save me a few bucks and save us all from Kinect voice chat hell.

Is there a quick charge kit announced?

Why did we Need a 30+ Thread for a Headset? What will you guys do when they drop the Price to 399$ AND Keep Kinect?
I really can't imagine how the gaming community would react to that.
It would certainly be fun to watch.

If there is any chance of that happening, it is certainly a little greater now that the 12GB rumor is squashed.

Microsoft. They said they were considering putting one in the box some time ago. The headset is also better than the cheapo earbud Sony is trying to pass off.

Still, 360 had it in the box. It should have never been taken out to begin with. Sony doing well is the best thing to happen to MS. Theyre much hungier now and i like it this way. IMO, we would have never seen the headset included or the GPU bump if Sony had bombed at E3.

Competition is always great.

Is there a launch date for the xbone? Unboxing seems like they might be ready to launch earlier than expected. Launching alongside call of duty would create madness in stores and push units pretty hard.

The way you emphasize "AND" makes it sound like still including Kinect would be an inarguably positive thing. There are some people who would be willing to buy a $500 Xbone without Kinect, but wouldn't buy it for $400 with Kinect and the requirement that it be attached for the console to function. Yes. Some people hate Kinect and its implications that much, that they'd be willing to spend more on a system that didn't force it down their throats. All Microsoft would need to do for some people to jump in, is simply say you can toss the Kinect in the trash and still use your console. Who knows? The way things have been going lately, that may be their biggest surprise yet to come.

MS said "November" at E3...

No launch date, but rumor has it the PS4 will get a release date at Gamescom on the 21st, so I would guess Microsoft wouldn't be far off.

Regardless of it having a release date though, it will surely be out either on the 5th of Nov (COD day) or the 12th. One would assume anyway.

Also some rumors of both consoles being launched in time for COD launch day (Nov. 5) as COD Ghost for Xbone and PS4 dated by Amazon and Gamespot for Nov. 5

Just saw it now, thanks for posting fellow GAFfer.

It was a little fast but everything was there. The Controller seems really nice, Kinect seems to be bigger than I expected. Now I need to wait for the one I really want to get my hands on Day One, the PS4.

If Microsoft wants me to say positive things about them they should stop acting like snake oil salesmen. I did miss Penello's explanation before I posted, but it is an incredibly weak excuse. They are not to be congratulated for testing their system, nor does it excuse the way they represented a working highspeed cable as somehow remarkable. And as I mentioned, this is hardly an isolated incident. We're hot off the "mono driver" and in this very thread an IR blaster is being described as "magical".

Gaf makes a bigger deal of these things than MS does. The entirety of that whole GPU upclock, finished driver optimization thread was spawned by like 2 sentences that someone on a 50 minute podcast said. You make a bigger deal of them than they do.

Do you think we will see a detailed walk through on the dashboard?

I imagine at some point before launch we will. Hopefully Gamescom.

I remember J Allard doing a dashboard walkthrough at E3 2005 for the 360 and it being one of the highlights. So they definitely should do one.

All this Xbox 180 bullshit will blow over once the new gen gets going.

I've been thinking about all the revisions lately. Contrary to how others feel about this, it makes me trust MS more. It shows they listen to consumers when we get up in arms. I remember Sony pre-PS3 (and a couple of years after), and how stubborn they were about everything.

Only reason I would stick with PS4 is for my Uncharted and (to a lesser extent) Gran Turismo. Was able to get my hands on the PS4 controller at E3 and while it was SO MUCH better than the PS3's, it doesn't even touch the 360 in terms of comfort, let alone the improved One controller. That thing is bliss, especially the redesigned bumpers.

Halo eventually, Forza day 1, KH3 and FF15.

I sold my 360 this gen before Reach and Halo 4, hopefully they can find a way to re-release those games before Halo 5.

Great news, me and my friends were hoping they'd make this decision. Regarding them debunking the 12GB rumor, I feel like they'll regret that decision soon. I think that developers will max out next-gen much quicker than they did this gen.

Again people making up their own narrative.

If you really thought that "magical" comment was some snake oil salesman PR, I don't know what to tell you. Good news is good news, and it's sad that people want to hang on everything for ammunition in this petty war.

How about you put down the rifle and just be in it for the games? Trust me, it's more fun that way.

Nah, a dev could say they maxed out a system just by using all the memory, GPU, and CPU cores but it wouldn't necessarily be the truth.

It's not always how much of the system you use, because devs will always use what's there, but instead how you use it.

Did you play PS4/One games? How do you feel both are shaping up, controllers aside?
