Everything Wrong With The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift

There was recently that graph that showed how much the amount of assshots exploded(bad pun not intended), but Tokyo Drift always felt the most gratious to me in that regard.

That and the really obvious GCI are the worst parts.

If a video purposely nitpicking a movie changes your mind, then that is on you. People take Cinemasins way too seriously.

I mean look, people find comedy in all things, I understand that.

But CinemaSins entire shtick seems to be "let's factually get things wrong about a movie, but present them like they're the movie's fault".

I really don't see the funny in that myself. And the further you dig down into both the videos and the fanbase, the more you see a lot of people with confirmation bias of "oh yeah that really was stupid huh". It's kind of sad.

Yeah, that is cause they made nitpicky jokes about their favorite movies. It is one of my favorite Channels.

They would be "nitpicks" if they were actually correct about a movie. I'd say about 50% of the time they either take something out of context to try and make the joke, or are just factually wrong and their nitpick is more of a "I don't understand this" kind of joke.

It exists

That's what's wrong with it

Cinema Sins are hilarious and shouldn't even be taken that serious... why are they hated?

As I noted above, it would be hilarious if they were actually just pointing out continuity errors, plot holes, production goofs, etc.

It's when you mix in random, ignorant subjective statements that you start to lose me. I mean sin 2 is literally "lol outdoor metal detectors how's that possible" when.... outdoor metal detectors exist. Is the joke that CinemaSins are just idiots?
The follow up sin, the mascot fitting THROUGH the metal detector. Now that's a goof. And that's amusing to point out. That's what I want to see more of.

Their videos are terrible, but I think they made a valid point that watching Tokyo Drift adds nothing to your enjoyment of the other films because no effort was made to really tie them together besides the Statham scene at the end of 6.

Woohoo, another thread for the weakest movie (humor?) channel on the net.

Is there a channel that is devoted to actual mistakes made in the production of a film rather than just "Ooh I noticed this man was wearing a hat I didn't like." bullshit?

That's because 7 was the first movie to take place after Tokyo Drift

I don't like this one.

He didn't take sins off for tandem drifting, instead he sinned that, and he didn't take sins off for Keiichi Tsuchiya making a cameo.

Tbh, I just recently got into cinemasins but I'm a fan now. Saw this video the other day. This series is so ridiculous.

Didn't know they were so disliked. I'm guessing the big issue is the movies he covers.

No, it's more that many of the "sins" are really just offhand/lolsorandom comments that don't actually make any sense/have any relevance to the movie, and are just hoping to abuse people's poor/hazy memory of films and selective editing to get a laugh out of you.

A fair bit of the sins actually are bad production goofs/plot holes that rightfully should be pointed out and get a laugh out of. It's the "jokey" sins that rely on removing context or just straight intelligence mixed in that irks people.

That's true, but Han is a completely different person in Tokyo Drift.

After the release of TD, they could have made all subsequent appearances and references to Han be about his life in Tokyo.

Tokyo Drift was a break for the main cast while they were retooling it. Even Vin Diesel's cameo suggests as much. Not that they were about to start a manhunt for a killer, but they were just chilling.

They didn't even know what the timeline was at the time for TD's filming, which is why it makes no sense.

I've been binging them and what you're talking about isn't a big deal for a comedy show that usually places 50+ sins for a movie. You're not supposed to notice the issues during a movie so I don't mind the abuse of my hazy memory on films.

The Day Before Tomorrow one was dope. I watch a lot of movies and have been enjoying the videos, even with some of the sins being superfluous.
