I won't bother then. Already done the thermal mod myself and Gamers Nexus say don't bother upgrading.

It's tempting for the 90-day step up alone for a 1080Ti but I'm not sure about doing it. I've already put in the request but I guess we'll see when the time comes..

Me too. If I get approved, I'll delay the confirmation, and sending them back the card as much as possible, to win some time, and hopefully get an upgrade to a 1080TI when it comes out.

Remember kids. Today is the last day, and this may be a good way of getting a cheap-ish upgrade to a 1080TI using the Step-Up program.

I just applied the thermal mod to my 1070. Was terrified, but at least I can see a picture when my computer started up.

There isn't really any way to see the effects right?

Also would it be safe to overclock the card now that the thermalmod has been applied?

I left my 1080 at EVGA's FTW OC which is 1949MHZ, but it will be safe to overclock with the thermal mod.

Just keep an eye on temps, if they're about the same as before you haven't messed up the thermal paste

Ok cheers. Idle temps look normal, but I need to check them under load too.
