Evolve Beta Starts Jan 15, All Platforms Involved

There's a pretty healthy community on the official forums based on the Alpha alone. Not everyone had a bad experience (mostly PS4 only). I probably played over 100 monster matches on X1.

It's not that (I played on PC 2 times and PS4 I got into the menu). The game isn't as fun as it sounded in my opinion. I don't think this is going to hold interest levels for too long.

Um no. Matchmaking in a party with friends was a nightmare on PC. We got into one game in 2 hours, and I told them to just try it solo and they got in after maybe 10 minutes, which still isn't particularly ideal.
Hopefully this one goes much much more smoothly.

Yeah trying to get games with friends itself was horrible across the board.

Good, the alpha was a disaster for me and I kind of lost interest in the game after that.

Yup, never managed to get into a single game in the alpha.

Given that it's primarily designed around online play, the network code was an absolute disaster a few months ago, and we're in a golden age of devs putting out games that are fundamentally broken for weeks and months after launch, I can't imagine this rising above a rental.

So, only Xbox One players get to test out the new mode, and PS4/PC players are stuck with what the alpha was?

That's... really silly.

Maybe PC and PS4 are so easy to make games for that they're confident that the new mode will work just fine! Xbox One needs some more beta testing.

This is such a weird thing for Microsoft to throw money at.

Can't be any worse than last time, might play more than just one match this time.

Is that map an indication that there's only 5 maps in the game?

I hope they pull something out of their hat.

I feel like the alpha probably hurt the game a lot. Hopefully the Beta is more fun.

Yeah same here. It's like a walking simulator but once in a while a giant monster appears and you fly around for 5 seconds.

Evacuation will be a far superior mode, so hopefully between that, all Hunters, and better networking will get the game across better.

Edit: By superior, I mean that teams will be forced into conflict and set up for a far more engaging match than the cat-and-mouse or steamroll that takes place in Hunt mode.

Here's hoping that it'll play better this time around. The last time it felt like a boring Mario Chase most of the time. I wanted this game to be my fix while waiting for Left4Dead3, but so far, it doesn't look that way.

Alpha was awful
Boring as shit once i finally got afew games.
lots of waiting for something that was over in mins.

Hype was diminished a long time ago

With how they handled the PC/PS4 Alpha my hype really tanked for this game. Beta better knock it out of the park.

I've been thinking about this game, and I guess I'm kinda interested, but I have one problem.

I don't have any friends I could play co-op with.

Does this render the game pretty much pointless for me? Like is there any matchmaking I could use instead?

It's not a good game. They should not even have a beta and hope people just blindly buy the game at this point.

Alpha turned a lot of people off, including me and for good reason.

Was it the mechanics of the game or not being able to connect to the game?

For me this game ticks alot of my boxes, especially once i was paired with a group of people that communicated. I had alot of fun and the fun far outweighed the bad for me. I played on pc.

They did confirm on the forums that PC/PS4 will get all 12 maps as well.

From what I played it wasn't that bad without a group. The first 2 weeks will be rough though with everyone still learning everything, but the longer it's out the better it'll get. The certainly isn't as pick up and play as L4D.

My interest in this game drops drastically after that broken PS4 alpha. (I can't play only a game in alpha.)

I think I will try the beta but I will not buy it on day one.

You judge a final game on alpha issues, which was due to the ps4 2.0 update?
