Extremely short-lived/obscure shows you remember from childhood

Roughnecks was interesting. More than the sequel movies anyway.

Also, does Beast Machines count?
(and why did I forget to mention Brimstone.. )

oh, and since it was apparently only one season: The Cities of Gold would count as well. But that has been picked up again recently.

Bonus "Not unknown or ill-fated" : The Storyteller and I, Claudius. ^__^

Definitely WMAC Masters and MK Conquest. I was watching this back in the late 90's when I was in middle school. This was before the internet was everywhere so when neither show came back the next season their was a lot of confusion and anger from my friends and I. Both shows ended on cliff hangers and we were so pumped to see what was going to happen next. Unless I'm mistaken, they both also ended at the very same time. I'm still somewhat bitter we never got a conclusion to either show.

Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist.

Not really short lived, it was was around for like 5 years but man this show was seriously underrated. Was one of the first shows I ever got into and I still don't get why people don't love it the way they have nostalgia for other 90s shows. Really bummed me out how this show wasn't even on that list in that thread going on right now about 90s cartoons.

I was going to say Æon Flux. But then i see it ran for years, and they made a live action movie too, had no idea.

And thank you for The Maxx, pretty good so far

XO Squad
Wing Commander Animated series
Some abc TGIF show about a hs kid and his friend, who died and became his guardian angle, after eating an expired burger. Also God was black in this show too lol

Not sure how short lived, but this was my favorite cartoon when i was a kid.

This Peter pan was my imaginary friend.

Also, I loved Captain Power with the toys you could shoot at the TV.

I'd love to give that show a re-watch sometime. I remember being a big fan of the show as a kid, but it was so long ago I can't even remember a single episode. I too remember getting a couple toys, I think they were Burger King/Mc Donalds toys.

Anyway, as for me

Mon colle Knights

I think I was in early High School when this initially aired. But there was something incredibly charming about this show. The fact that it felt like a parody of all those "Monster of the Week" shows was refreshing. The dub reflected this too. Just all around cooky. Strange that there have been no signs of a DVD release. I was surprised to see this up on YT. Last time I looked all I could find was a really LQ intro and episodes of the German Dub.

-Disney's Toontown (???)

I'm not sure if this was the name of the show, but it played on my local stations in the morning. It followed two goofy teenagers around Disneyland as they presented various Disney cartoons. Kinda sad that you can watch Looney Toons on TV but not classic Disney Toons. WTF Disney?

-It's Like You Know

A very short lived Sitcom on ABC. I think it was about a New York lawyer who moves to LA or something? Howie Mandell was in it. The funniest thing that my family would always remember was an episode where there was a big all day car choice, and the New York lawyer was completely baffled as to why businesses were closed and people kept telling him "It's like a Snow Day" As someone who both lived in Southern California AND the mountains where Snow Days were common in Winter, it was just hysterical. My family would joke about this long after the series ended.

And I KNOW there's another series I'm thinking of, I just can't think of it now.

EDIT: Not a series, but Filmation's Pinocchio TERRIFIED me, and gave me horrible nightmares. I'm still a little hesitant to re-watch it. Not because I'd still be scared, but I'd be so embarrassed as to see the scene that terrified me.

Some amazing series here that I loved.

Starship Troopers: Roughnecks which has a great dvd box set.
Pirates of the dark water
Visionaries: Knights of the magical light.
Bump in the Night
Eerie, Indiana.
The Maxx

However there is one show I liked but haven't seen a single person mention. Tucker. It was basically a family sitcom aimed at kids/young teens. It had Seth Green in.

Also surprised no-one has mentioned cadillacs and dinosaurs. I also remember some series where dinosaurs had guns attached to them and were rode by people. Not sure if it was short or obscure though.

Johnny Arcade was the gamemaster! Also, don't forget GamePro. Even though they were a popular mag back then many people didn't know they had a tv show.

JD Roth....I remember him...he did Game Pro and i recognized him from another obsure tv show Fun House, which was kinda like Double Dare (only thing i can think of comparing it to)

Funhouse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqigIQ-QF3k

Edit: Speaking of Video Power and Gamepro, along with X-Play being cancelled, we'll never see anotherTV show about videogame reviews/previews/cheats, will we?

Took me years to find out what it was but:

The Legend of Calamity Jane

Oakie Doke.

Only lasted a year.

Loved that show. Something slightly unnerving about his appearance but still a great show.

Gran - So obscure that I didn't even watch it on TV, I think I just had it bought for me from some charity shop as a kid. Had a similar style to Postman Pat, and just generally adorable and heart-warming from what I remember.

Bailey Kipper's P.O.V. - Maybe this is less obscure over in the Americas (probably not), but barely anyone I know remembers this. Amazing theme though : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EHhRR0R1yA

Wonderfalls only lasted 4 episodes before it got canned by Fox.

Histeria actually ran for about one and a half seasons, but unlike Animaniacs, it was kind of a miss it and it's gone kind of deal. Along with Batman Beyond, it was the last show to come out of Kids WB before its cartoon bloc began to devolve.
