nice one, good to know there's going to be some depth (15 day program, 60 challenges)

I hope this lil demon die every 15 days , will be fun seeing my sister's kid crying over and over .

Sorry if old but I came across the boxart for the pack on the Aussie EB site with a price of $79 and release date of 29/10 (edit: this date may just be an EB placeholder)

Yes...my kids, that's who I am getting this for :lol
nevermind I don't have any kids but that will be my excuse if asked :P

Hell yeah, me either im using its for when my two baby cousins stay over.:lol

I really hope Sony runs their share of advertisements for this come holiday season. It looks like it has the potential to become a sleeper hit for the younger demographics, and it looks to be quite the technological marvel.

I'm still not a big fan of the pet design (it looks like a kremlin), I think animals like the bird thingy from The Last Guardian are way more cute!. But still, I'll be getting it. I'll buy it for.. err.. my kids... yeah. Yeah, for my kids, I guess that can work (though I'm 23 and I don't have kids, but whatever) :lol .

That's a very good price for Aus. Must be some kind of di--oh wait, EB Games. That's a very, very good price for Aus.

I am starting to wonder about the legitimacy of that $79 price for Aus, as they only have the pack listed not the game by itself. It would not be unlike EB to change that in the coming weeks to be the standalone game price and put the bundle up to a higher price point. I think I will pop down there tomorrow and lock in a bundle. :D

Looks like the price and date for Australia are legitimate, as JBHifi are selling it for $69 :D. I can't believe we are getting a good deal here. Thanks to hirokazu for pointing this out

It´s in Danish Shops too..

2zzun9g.jpg

599,00 danish kroner.. that´s about 50-100 kr. more expensive than a new game in coolshop.dk...

but in Denmark the release date is the 23rd. of october.. again it could be a placeholder.

Wow, parents are gonna mistake this for a happy meal with a toy included (trust me the stupidity can happen).. until of course they hit the register and realize the price.

Nice box though, but is anyone else wondering how the hell exactly is the PSmote going to be incorporated into this? Sort of defies the point when you start applying it to certain things..

I hope you get to beat the shit out of the EyePet with a stick. +1 sale if so.

Well you can only interact with most tools in one single orientation, like with the blowdryer always pointing left so you have to turn the card 180 degrees to point it to the right. You can't point the blowdyer forwards or backwards, for instance. So it's possible they'd allow you to have more freedom and more range of movement with some tools, if they're designed to take advantage of it. You'd also have a trigger, for grabbing and releasing things, like tossing a ball. They could have him chase a laser pointer- the possibilities are only limited by their imaginations, and they can always look at how people interact with real pets for inspiration. They could have a leash where you walk your pet through the city, and he gets distracted, pees on fire hydrants, poops in the neighbors' lawns, and you have to tug in a certain direction to get him back on track, squeeze the trigger to let out more slack, etc.

I'm sure they'll think of plenty more uses for it, since they're paid to sit in a room and brainstorm whereas I just sat here for 5 minutes with my mind also on other things. :D

Sure, I was generally thinking along the same lines as you in terms of ways to use the motion controls and buttons, but all that somewhat defies the point of EyePet being an augmented reality game, no?

Either way it doesn't hurt to add stuff in as an option for those who'll play with MCs, just not really sure how far the devs will go as I would assume they would feel it may somewhat 'ruin' the experience.

You'd be surprised at some of the stupidity I see from people here in america...
Yeah...For example I read on some video game forum that this one guy thinks people would go to a video game store to buy a Happy Meal. How stupid is that guy?

Seems pretty smart if I may say so myself. :D

So true. Very impressive tech

You mean the hands-free concept? Well you'd only be replacing the card with a remote. You'd still use your bare hands for anything else (lathering up the shampoo, etc)

You'd even still use the card over the wand for some things. For instance, bowling, trampoline jumping, etc, because they're just more appropriate.

Actually, I think they have two cards- one normal card you place flat on the table, and one with a handle on the back you hold in the air. The remote could replace the latter card.

I'm so totally buying this for my daughter.

It kind of feels like when I bought a laser pointer for my cats though. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

I've had the review code a couple of days now.

So, naturally, I drawed a peniscar. And, well:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3n9mVOteNM

The look on his face when it's capturing the drawing...:lol Poor innocent little eyepet :(

Your music in the background made me think that they should have a feature where your eyepet can react to music you're playing, develop taste etc.

That could be a cool feature.

It works well. Easy to set up (a man in white coat helps you with the process, he keeps popping up once in a while, giving new information). I'm not too fond of the whole tamagotchi aspect, having to keep him happy and clean, feeding him, washing him, playing with him. All those things gets old, really quick.

But it's impressive. The drawing aspect works great (as long as you do clear, thick, lines and leaving space between the picture and the frame). Some fun minigames and there's lots of unlockables (toys, games, etc) as you progress through the different tasks.

And it's supercute. Even when riding a peniscar.

EyeNyet says "Nyet."

I don't like it either, its basically a ripoff of a mon chi chi doll. Ugh.

I would rather have a sackboy or something a little less creepy looking. Ugh.

Not my cup of tea ,but if Sony really pushes this and markets it accordingly I can see it attracting lots of new users and a new whole demographic base for the machine.
