I cant fucking believe this, I finaly get the ds i orderd from play-asia and it came without the AC adapter fuck the what?!?
BURN IN HELL YOU GONDANM BASTARDS!

This reminds me of liksang back in 2001 when I ordered my japanese cube from them. Somehow they forgot to include the AC adapter, so I contacted them, and they replied sorry blah blah you have have to order a new AC adapter from us, but currently there are a few weeks of delay on them, so plz backorder a new one from us!

I basicly got a fuck you reply for ordering a package that was worth 400 US plus custom fees.

Luckily, we have a great electronic place here in town, were they fix or customize electronics stuff for a living. So they made me an AC adapter that worked with the cube.

The one that should come with the ds!
There is no ac adapter inside the box.

As of now, I think your best bet is to never deal with P-A ever again. If they're tampering with factory seals, fuck 'em.

maybe they test systems before shipping them, it'd be one huge pain in the ass to return one.

edit:
And i got a fucking dead pixel.

...nevermind.

Why'd you order a DS from them anyways? Is it some special color?
The last time I ordered from them it was for GGXXR for PSP. Shipping said 5-14 days and it took 13 to get here. I also ordered something from liksang around the same time and it arrived the day it should've. It'll be a while before I order from them.

That sucks man.
I'll just buy an adapter from somewhere close.
Man this is shitty, I should be all happy and shit and play my games, but instead im pissed off and it kinda makes me feel bad about the whole buy.

I live in Israel and buying a ds from them was alittle bit cheaper than buying it from here, and i wanted that hot japanese red ds.
Plus i know a couple of guys who oredered ds's and other consoles from them and they never had any problems at all.

I would have called my credit card company and had the entire amount refunded.

mmm, that´s odd, I never had a problem with them (and I am a heavy importer). Have you contacted with them?

It´s a shame, sorry for you. Hope you get it solved.

I sent them an email about 2 hours ago.
This sucks, I cant play no more because the battery is dead.
Gotta get myself an ac adapter tommorow.

I think there is a member of GAF that have relationship with Play-Asia (not sure about this). I don´t remember his name (f4nz or something like that). He usually give us updates about the special week offer in Play-Asia so it´s easy to find him doing a search, maybe you could try to PM him.

Always I have contacted Play-Asia for some question they have benn pretty gentle and more or less fast answering me. The problem is that with this dates, you never known.

Odd, I've ordered my past couple of import titles from Play-Asia (4 games, I think), and haven't had any problems at all.

Well, they did send me some funky looking candy.
Anyone knows what I'm talking about? There is some orange-dude snowboarding on the cover.
Is it tasty?

Japanese units don't have factory seals if that's what he ordered.
Yep. Red DS. Looks great.
Too bad for that fucking dead pixel. It's red.
With Oendan, It's only noticeable when on a black background.
But in mario kart i see it all the time.
And there is another dead pixel. Grey. Didnt notice it at all with Oendan, but I did with mario kart.
sucks.

My launch (US, Silver) DS had 1 dead pixel. Contacted NoA's support, they sent me a prepaid box to ship it out via FedEx, and within 3 business days, they sent me a brand new DS (with an extra stylus, for my troubles). No flaws on the new DS, and I've been using it since without a problem. The whole thing took 3 days from when I sent it, and cost me exactly $0.00...

I wonder if you can get support for a Japanese DS through your local Nintendo HQ?

I dont live in the US.
Not in europe either.
Is there any chance play-asia will replace my ds?

This surprises me a great deal. In the past I've never had anything but extremely good experiences with them. I've ordered dozens of things. In the two cases where I've had something wrong, their customer service replied to me within 24 hours. They were very apologetic and sent me a replacement and even some extra compensation. The other time they just sent me a replacement and didn't even ask for the faulty item to be returned.

bogg: email them and ask. They're nice people in my experience.

My only complaint is PA's length of shipping for the cheapest option. I paid $8 and by comparison it cost them $4 to ship. Fairly sure doubling the amount could have gotten something faster. :\

My Famicom Micro was super late -- a couple weeks later than they originally estimated. They were extremely apologetic when I e-mailed. And better yet, when I cracked open my package -- a free copy of Astro Boy GBA.

That's right: they gave me a totally free game for the delay. I was impressed.

General company advice: I realize you think they're MOBILE SUIT GONDANMED bastards now, but sometimes people simply make mistakes. Politely give them a fair chance to correct it. If they don't, THEN feel free to hate them. :)

There's a big chance that the missing AC adapter has nothing to do with Play-asia. My USA DS, which was sealed, was missing a thumbstrap. My mate's Xbox had no SCART adapter with it either when he bought it brand new. I know it's annoying waiting ages for something for it not to work right on the day (You're talking to a guy whose HDTV decided to break about 2mins before his 360 arrived in the post here) but sometimes the factories make mistakes.

Wait, I thought PA sold their launch GB micros with Astro Boy.

Oh, no kidding? Uhh.. if that's the case, I'll simply say: sssshhhhhhhhhhh. I GOT A SURPRISE FREE GAME. SURPRISE. FREE. GAME.

Thanks for keeping the magic alive.

Not Play-Asia's fault. Anyway, sorry you had a bad experience with them. They're usually really good (although shipping is a bit on the slow side), and they give you free stickers and stuff, which most places don't do. Like others have said, resolve it with them calmly/professionally, and if you're still not happy with the resolution, take your business elsewhere. For now, you can just use the GBA A/C adapter.
