Fair to say that a free Brand New game or next gen port is now a standard part of Playstation Plus for PS5

Still not really comparable to gamepass. we dont get new first party games on ps plus. Every single microsoft game launches on the service.

I wonder if Sony might eventually start putting their 1st party games on the ps plus collection? not at launch but maybe like 6 months after? Probably not anytime soon as we still dont have games like ghost of tsushima or last of us 2 on it. Sony will milk every last drop of sales out of them before putting them on the collection.

You're right that as far as first party games go you're not getting as many as from Game Pass but we did get Destruction Allstars. Sony has done the math and think they can get more money selling their big first party games than giving them away with a subscription. Microsoft is playing a long game and is willing to put all those developer billions into growing their sub service. Both are legitimate tactics IMO.

Yeah Sony's first party is massively popular. It doesn't make much sense for them to fully dive into the service route just yet but they have many options to do so in the future.

Uh... What? Isn't that obvious? PS+ has to offer something monthly for PS5 so that will either be:
-brand new game
-not brand new game that got a ps5 upgrade.

There's only so many PS5 SKU titles out there less than a year into it, so odds are yeah it'll fall under those categories.

The PS4 didn't get new Playstation Plus games every month after launch.

I'm probably a Sony fanboy and Ps+ is a joke compared with Gamepass. Free games in Ps+ are usually shit you never would buy. It only will be comparable if you had Demons souls, Ratchet, Horizon FW, etc in Ps+ at release date. If not, it's only a pale shadow of what Gamepass means.

A matter of opinion, really. I've enjoyed games from Playstation Plus every month.

They don't have any reason as long as they sell big numbers

It's orders of magnitude better than what Gold has given in the last times.

Now, to compete with Game Pass? L-O-L
