I'm not completely positive how true this is, but most of the things GilZ sends my way are true. He was correct about the new price drops, new HDMI models, new Elites, and now a picture sent to us with clearly visible text, in what appears to be either the 360's new name or the next xbox's final name. "XBOXPure" is what looks to be the final choice in this document. Take a look!

[UPDATE: It appears that this rumor story could be CAG throwing their credibility out the window as part of a contest. Kotaku''s decision to run rumors is always based on the credibility of the site and the information contained within it. In the past CAG has proven to be a reliable site, having broken a number of stories through apt reporting. It appears that may no longer be the case.

Don't see how this could be possible unless MS offers a brand new line of hdd accessories to work with a slimmer model.

They could just change where the HDD attaches, since it'll be a new motherboard anyways.

So it's not going to be called Xbox 360 Pure? Just Xbox Pure? That makes no sense...

It's clearly just a code name. It says "code changing" right at the top.

The HDD could sit on top of a smaller, horizontally-oriented machine, or the top of a shorter vertically-oriented machine.

Or could just move the current HDD groove on the top of the console instead of the side for a top loading slimmer from the front look.

1) There's no way on earth that's a real document.
2) If it were, things like that are not approved in such manner.
3) If it were, it would be so high-level it would require an executive to leak it. Which doesn't happen.

Really sad stuff.

holy shit, Kotakowned. Why does Crecente sound like such a self righteous prick in the update? In the last CAGcast, Cheapy was railing against the "news blogs" for taking obviously ridiculous rumors and running them as stories. He's making a point.

Wombat in the latest CAGcast pushed for CAGs to see if they could get fake news up on the big gaming blogs (haha). Since the big gaming blogs like Kotaku are driven by amount of posts, leading to this type of unlikely rumor posting.

The post is from one of the CAG user blogs anyway, so this isn't CAG "throwing their credibility."
