I go to sleep for 8 hours and only one page? :(

So it follows the Haruhi rule of don't watch the first episode first?

The first episode was the best thing about that show! If it wasn't for that I probably wouldn't have watched it in the first place.

It does downhill from there.
Oh, I'm aware. What a weird show.

Oniisama...e 17 :

Miya's tea set is superior to Nanoko's, but not by much considering that she lives in a mansion and owns a yacht.

miyacrazyeyes.jpg

Miya making crazy eyes? Who'd have thought it? (But I'm secretly waiting for these scenes every episode. This show wouldn't work without her.)

There's a really creepy love-triangle threatening to develop her as well. Probably because the only person who isn't insane is Tamoko. Still, at least everyone's relationships are developing and nothing feels out of place.

I think 6AM-6PM EST is a some kind of deadzone for the anime thread.

I finally finished watching Soul Eater, and it just makes me sad that the show really dropped off in the final 5 episodes or so. It was so awesome for most of the way, and then it felt like the anime team was just like "well crap, we have no idea how to end the story so let's just throw a bunch of shit at the wall and see what sticks". I still love the show for the first 45 or so episodes, and the fact that it is one of the only shows I can think of where I didn't dislike a single character.

Or the crazies have jobs!

I say 6AM EST because it's only 3AM on the pacific and most people are still active after I've gone to sleep.

And then there's Jehxius and his wonky UK time.

Do we have any NEETs here?

I think Infinite is the closest one we have to a NEET. He's this thread's mascot.

He's able to support himself though. Doesn't a NEET just live off his parents' money while remaining a NEET?
Correct. If you're getting an income, you don't count.

To be honest, the show takes a turn for the relatively normal at around episode 20 or so.

Every time someone writes or says waifu, the anime industry dies a little.

Well that's not acceptable.

I still think there's a bit of wackiness in the 20s. It calms down as it reaches its inevitable and hokey conclusion.

This is why we have hikikomori!

Unacceptable. I need everything to get dark and depressing.

This is why it's interesting to get discussions about anime from a different perspective : Art and Architecture of Texhnolyze

STAR DRIVER!

Also going to try Panty and stocking and Samurai girls. Maybe even that one with the nerdy girls since everyone keeps talking about it.

Based on "teh wikis", you may want to read the manga then. :lol
I'll accept the works as they are, rather than what I wish them to be.

(Although...)

I'm going to have keep this :

in mind as I get on with the rest of School Days.

Look at that pic at the end of each episode. :lol

Dude, yeah... if it were remotely possible, I'd invite you out to drink or something. :lol
:lol :lol

That's ok. I don't like alcohol.

So I finally finished Spice and Wolf S2. With tons of stuff going on I stopped at the end of the first S2 arc.

I Demand More! (or at least for the books to get translated faster).

Yep, no use in whining about the manga. I think I'm okay with the anime since they toned down the melodrama (which seems impossible, surely).

Also, School Days is why they invented the 2x button on DVD players or the scrubbing bar on media players!

Oh, I don't either, but that's apparently the only acceptable form of homosocial bonding between men. Beer + sports. :lol

Monster Episode 01:

Man that director is a dickface, and I hate Tenma's fiancee too. What the fuck is he doing with people like this?

I'd invite you over to play games and eat some snacks~! We could watch some animu too.

So Macross's love triangle thing happens because Hikaru can't trust his girlfriend to not be into incest?

Getting bitches and riches.

And skip past anything? Then I'd be as bad as those people who skipped the whole series!

Then I'd me missing out on all the fascinating commentary on the human condition.

So how is the dub, if that's the version you're watching?

They were just cousins. Someone not knowing what was happening might believe you were talking about brother-sister stuff :lol

I think it's more that he realized that she was immature and that the other was not. Though, I can't really remember anything other than the movie at the moment. It's been years since I watched the TV series.

I'd still go for Minmei though.

No wonder I don't have any male friends

Seems a bit dull in delivery, but not terrible. Not sure how it sounds originally so I guess I can stand it.
I don't know why I asked, it looks like Syfy graciously left some trailers available in my region.

Yeash. I wouldn't watch the show like this, especially as it's so dialogue heavy and character focused.

Tenma seems alright. Eva sounds awful.

The, er, antagonist sounds wrong as well. He sounds like he's trying too hard to talk in a creepy fashion, rather than just talking in a normal way which is made disturbing by the context.

The main character is voiced by Liam O'Brien need I say more? Yes? Oh... it's really good.

Edit: Johan was abit shit though. I'm still watching it mind so it could still get better or worse.

Aoi Bungaku was good.

Dub isn't awful, but if you're going to watch Monster, you might as well track down the subbed versions.

You know, the most amusing thing I find about Macross, is that they got the japanese voice actress for Minmei to do the english dub of her. :lol

There is no "just cousins" also she says he's like a brother to her.

Also Misa is the only right answer.

Hikaru x Hayase was born from Hikaru wanting Minmay and Hayase wanting Kaifun, but everyone thought Minmay x Kaifun. Minmay was just an object of juvenile desire while his relationship with Hayase was one that began with friendship and respect (yes, even though they fought all the time).

So new berserk anime? nice. It's almost to surreal to be true.

I used to be one.:lol

Hayase was one that began with friendship and respect (yes, even though they fought all the time).
The fact that they fought is a sign of love in a number of cases.

And then. And then they threw it open to the crowd. A packed theatre of 800, excited at the first, and so far, only time that Gainax were all in a room, drunk on foreign fun and hospitality, far away from home and ready to tell anime truths. In the first row, a faculty’s worth of PhD students from all over Europe raised their arms. Behind them, a forest of eager hands straining to be noticed, a whole day of comments unmade, reminiscences unsaid, poignant questions unasked. With only a few minutes to go, every second counted. In budgetary terms, what with flights and food and hotels, I’d guess that every minute was costing Locarno a thousand pounds. So you’d better make it count.

The moderator picked a girl near the front.

“Hello,” she said. “I like Evangelion, and I think it’s great. But when I bought a widescreen TV, the image looked all squashy, and the characters were a funny shape and that. I wanted to ask Gainax if they were going to do anything about it?”

Classic.

Kaifun is.. the cousin, right? I can honestly say that I remember very little thats not in DYRL. My memory is totally shot. :lol

Oh god, which reminds me that Sunrise was responsible for all the Seikai stuff. >_>
Sunrise is always up and down. They create awesome shows like (turn a, seikai, planetes, votoms etc) then they occasionally create pure shit like (gundam wing, ZZ gundam, code geass, 00 s2 etc).

Details for the first Panty & Stocking episode from the official site:
Episode 2 sounds hilarious.:lol

Subbed MM! PV

Edit: Man, ANN is fast. I just saw the Ichirin Sha PV too. Looks nice. First time I've even heard about it.
The Anime Innovation Tokyo (AIT) production company began streaming a 7-minute video for its original animation project Ichirin-sha on Friday. Ushio Tazawa, the character designer and animation director on Makoto Shinkai's The Place Promised in Our Early Days, created and directed the project at the anime studio Nomad (Rozen Maiden). AIT describes the beginning of the story as the following:

On a planet very similar to the earth… Here, the missile mechanoids started to have its own will and control, and were driving the human beings into serious danger. Shaleen was the last "ICHIRIN-SHA (unicyclist)" in the world, traveling the world on his beat up motor unicycle. One day, when Shaleen was running from the attacks of the missile mechanoids, he stops by a ghost town and meets a mysterious girl who was constantly targeted by the mechanoids. - Source
