You're wise not to comment until you've finished.
Regarding Giant Robo, yeah it seems that way. It really is an odd show. If I end up not liking it I won't blame anyone for it as I had a good idea what it was from the cover but it does seem more nuanced than what it is. An old-school take on the giant robot theme yet dark enough that I honestly don't know if when a character's held in the air being electrocuted if he'll die or not, that's just, well, weird for a giant robot show. So it has this tone that I don't know if it works for me yet or not but it also says I shouldn't dismiss it until it really gets started either. I should have the second disc, maybe further, finished tonight.

It's too bad Spoor isn't like buffalo, and you can't just string it together a bunch of times to make a sentence. Or can you? Spoor Spoor Spoon Spoor, Spoor!
Damn you! Damn Spoon, that's what the text looked like on my TV ok? I only have a 32inch, I'm thankful I got 4 out of 5 letters right.
Although I don't think stringing together Spoor would be all that interesting even if it could be done, she'd be too fun to just shoot the shit with and you really need a diverse language for that, if that was missing she'd just by eye candy. I bet every task on her ship is awesome from combat all the way down to deciding who has latrine duty each day. Any of those slackers on her ship wanting off her ship should know I'd gladly take their place.

See, at least you are aware of the problem and ready to address this defect. Meanwhile I owe Right Stuf forever (I already buy everything from them, though...) for bringing the remasters of Revolutionary Girl Utena over, and exposing it to more attention than it would probably get if I just yelled at you all to watch it. Though I still would have yelled at you all to watch it anyway, probably.
I like Right Stuf, I won't pretend they're the cheapest, Amazon and Deep Discount usually beat them unless it's a sale item, but I recognize the fact that anime's a niche hobby so I like to buy stuff from companies that reinvest in that hobby in some way. Funimation or Bandai don't really care whether it's Amazon or Right Stuf that sells an item and Amazon isn't going to do anything anime related with any profit they make of a sale but Right Stuff will go around and bring over Aria or something with their profit, so I like to buy from them even if everything they do isn't my cup of tea.
And yeah, I'd like to think I'm aware of all my defects, not that I plan to address all of them!

I just watched Occult Academy EP11....
What.
Haha, I think the show sucked but I actually like the fact I felt the same way. I don't think it redeemed the whole show or anything but after 10 episodes of being bored off my ass it kicks it into this insane alterniverse and gives people magical transformations and shit, kinda made me feel a little better having watched the other 10 episodes. Had this happened in the first episode the show still would have sucked but it also wouldn't have had any shock appeal.

You poor souls who watched Occult Academy. I'm thankful the only new show I finished over the summer was Senba2.
Does Maya stop being such an abusive bitch later on?
Woah, woah, woah. Maya was kind of a bitch but she's also the only tsundere on the planet with reason to be a bitch and that's because the man she's been cast to act alongside really was a total fucking stooge. You feel bad for the guy in Shana or the Familiar of Zero because they're not really that stupid, not really useless and what they say that sends them into a tirade isn't generally stupid, but Bunmei on the other hand was a total fucking moron, 100% He needed abuse, he needed more abuse than he received and I never once felt she went over the line with him because he deserved it pretty much every damn time.
Seems real unfair to just always lame the blame at the girls' feet when sometimes it is the male character's fault.
