Black Lagoon last ep.

AAARGH. Revy got a fucking samurai sword through her knee.

One of the best and tightest seasons of animu I have seen.

I really feel it was the right decision to move that arc so it could end the season.

Methinks the middle arc of season 2 is the best and most entertaining part of Black Lagoon.
Regardless, the counterfeiting and japan arcs more than make up for lolis.

Even if it was hilarious seeing one get AWPed.

But it had people getting chopped up!

(Along with lots of Balalaika)

And Balalaika using her nuclear-grade powers of sensual intimidation and devastating invasion of personal space.

Seriously, Rock is the Yui Hirasawa of Black Lagoon. Everytime he opens his fucking mouth I want to throw things at my tv.
Really? I'd say he's one of the more interesting characters in Black lagoon. And the part where he says "YOU'RE FUCKED" (or some swearing along those lines) is a bad-ass moment.

Macross 7-39: Whoa.

If you sing his song, worlds implode.

It's not like you're telling me anything I don't already know here.

Yes, but normal people are boring. Especially as narrators on the kind of show where people regularly survive fights involving hundreds of bullets and explosions.

The funny thing is he also survives them also so he's not that normal :lol

He just brings a different vibe to a bunch of thugs that's interesting enough that the lady your hyping to the heavens respects him for (at least enough to not kill him on sight :lol )

Mihashi doesn't really cry that much, he just seems to always get discouraged and thinks that everyone hates him. The 'relationship' between him and Abe is more just down to the fact that Abe was the first person to actually recognize his talent, so Mihashi latched onto him.

Although, I won't deny that the series gives the yaoi fangirls plenty of ammo to work with.

Oofuri is so gay. Soooo gaaaay. Mihashi (the pitcher) and Abe (the catcher) tenderly bond while holding hands in the bushes behind a schoolbuilding. :lol

But what positions do they play?

Sci-Fi anime -- don't forget Noein and The Place Promised In Our Early Days!

Those two are both really good series, I'd highly recommend them. I think Noein was mentioned once somewhere in this thread, but for a series as good as it is, it really doesn't get anywhere near enough attention... it's great! The story is extremely confusing and includes a lot of travel between alternate worlds in different time periods, but still, I think it's a fantastic series. The plot may be confusing, but it's interesting as well and keeps you guessing what's really going on. Good characters, too, I definitely like the main characters. The fights are reasonably good as well. :) There are some great visuals too, the scenery sometimes is impressive. It's good all around.

And as for The Place Promised In Our Early Days, it's from the same guy who made Voices of a Distant Star. That should be enough to know that it's a must watch. Just brilliant, just like Voices of a Distant Star -- but actually full movie length this time...
and not depressing this time, which is great. I prefer happier endings.

Woah, Sora no Woto was exciting? It wasn't what one would call "dull?"

I know some people didn't like it, but Sora no Woto is easily my favorite anime of the year so far. Nothing else has come close...

Like I said, theme and character vs allegory and plot.
They're not all mutually exclusive, of course. Planetes does both well, even if I did find the final terrorism arc a bit too much.

Is Planetes worth watching? It looks like it might be, but I haven't seen it.

Star Driver Episode 01:
It was okay. The transformation sequence made me laugh a bit with the Galactic Pretty Boy and the fabulous clothes.

I still need to watch this one sometime.

I'm not sure I'd put it up that high, but then again, I still listen to that French song once in a while and it still evokes that awesome scene in the final episode... hrm, given how this year has been, maybe it'd be up there for me as well. :lol

If you like SF, that's a definite yes. If you like hard SF, then you should have already watched it! :lol

Yes, yes, yes! It's almost criminal the lack of attention Noein gets. It's one of the few shows I've seen that starts off with a WTF plot and manages to explain everything satisfactorily by the end, which is all more impressive considering the focus is ultimately on the character drama more than the dimension-hopping quantum mechanics craziness. Good stuff.

Shinkai's films are about as mono no aware as it gets.
Just how mono no aware is Shinkai's The Promised Place in our Early Days?

Somewhere, someone is having a brain aneurysm.

[QUOTE=icarus-daedelus]Oofuri is so gay. Soooo gaaaay. Mihashi (the pitcher) and Abe (the catcher) tenderly bond while holding hands in the bushes behind a schoolbuilding. :lol Not that there's anything wrong with that. Also, Mihashi cries more than any (male) anime protag I can remember since probably Jacuzzi Splot in Baccano.

Someone said that it's a woman's fantasy of what men are like in private, which I still think is pretty astute. Especially if the coach is the author surrogate. If you're twisted, you could always read it as a reverse harem. :lol

You're trying to top I9 in the creepy gifs department again, aren't you?
It's not so much a competition as it is a conversation.

They can only express their feelings through creepy .gifs, so who are we to stop them?

Gosh I hope Jehxius isn't living alone or they'll never find his comatose body until it's too late!

luka doesn't need to try and top me to gain my attention! I'm pretty sure luka has a bigger collection than I do since I wiped my HDD clear about a month ago.

Man, Star Driver is absolutely fabulous. In Bones we trust.

It's kind of like when G Gundam characters communicate with their fists, only with 12 year old girls.

Pictures of 12 year old girls. Completely harmless!

When did artists start putting those little peach spots on shoulders, cheeks, whatever?

The first time I saw it was with the Rune Factory designs.
