I think she has more than fantasies.

It seems to be about one boy and a bunch of girls (half of whom have enormous breasts, and one of whom is his twin sister) who are all demented in some way and have barely-suppressed sexual desires pointing all over the place. Except that not much actually happens. So, it's like real life with less men and more... deviance, in the least-exciting way possible.

And this was a VN you say...

Tamayura 2 was much more character driven than thematic, although it ended with the whole "dreams as possibilities" thing. Indeed, how that was structured almost made it feel like a children's show, where the characters discuss some concept and then learn an important lesson about that concept at the end of the episode.
I guess it's not coincidental that it's a lot like an Aria episode in that regard, although I think the "learning" episodes in Aria were a bit more subtle. I didn't dislike this episode though, I think I just have a better impression of the first episode in my mind.

It also features a gag I almost always find funny - when two nervous characters meet and freak out over each other.

Well I'm going to go ahead and watch squid girl now.
Don't ever sleep again.

Grouping Spice and Wolf in with other Magical girlfriend shows I think does the show quite the injustice.
There are other good magical girlfriend shows! Sometimes the girls aren't even magical, they're just "foreign". I was just discussing the presence of the character in a neutral way, as opposed to the shows quality.

Again?

It sounds like you're returning from some kind of traumatic war...

That sounds fairly pointed.

I've been there man, I've seen things, you wouldn't understand man YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND!

Yeah sure, Mortal Kombat. Fatalities and heads getting ripped off and such.

Ah excellent, I've found the hive of people who aren't just unimpressed by Star Driver 1, they actually seem to dislike it vehemently. Excellent!

At the same time though, the plot itself felt rather weak and comedic. I also question the choice of calling the main character a “Galactic Bishounen”. That in and of itself suggests that the creators aren’t taking this show seriously.
Internet Person 2 said:
-your thoughts on the transformation scene, as that and a few other of the campier things in the episode came across to me as mildly confusing in terms of tone – is this done in a serious fashion? Or are we supposed to be laughing with the animators, writers, etc.? It doesn’t seem to have decided which it is.
Internet Person 3 said:
I thought it seemed too corny and not self-aware enough, as if the director wasn’t sure which way he wanted to go.
Internet Person 4 said:
I said it once, and I’ll say it again: what a mess! We start off with this slosh of cliches and over-used tropes, before nosediving into nonsensical crap involving robots and masks snatched straight out of Black Plague-era Europe. Oh, yeah, and maidens who apparently power robots, so original.
I really don't know how the show could spell itself out any louder without the main character telling everyone how fabulous the show is. Oh wait-

They probably don't have "fabulous" in their vocabularies.

It is an acquired taste.

Episode 33 of Oniisama e... has been the first one that didn't make me laugh.
The tragedy and the way/the time it happens felt more touching than anything that happened thus far.

Just watched The World God Only Knows, and actually liked it a lot. Once I had a little epiphany that the main character is basically like a
more
otaku version of Miles Edgeworth, seeing it from that perspective really made the whole thing more enjoyable for me.

They establish right out of the gate the cliches of romance games (and by extension anime), and it seems like they're not going to drag out any of these 'conquests' by very much.

I was charmed.

So to put it bluntly, since people like to be contrary, TWGOK (an acronym that reminds me of Z'Gok) >>>>>>>>>> Squid Girl. In every way.

Yean, the manga is well loved one. I should read it one of these days.

Speaking of manga have you guys herad of the news that Del Rey was bought out. Will they still continue Sayonara Zetsubu Sensei? If not I will bloody yell and scream out...

Del Ray's Manga division or the whole company? Who bought them?

I thought it was just that Kondasha USA took the licences for all of their Kondasha series (ie most of Del Ray's manga). I think Kondasha USA plans to continue Del Ray's series, but I know of anything they have published themselves.

Apparently on-screen action needs to pause, the director has to appear on stage and then give a speech explaining about how perhaps the show isn't "serious" before anyone notices.

Oniisama...e 21 : Mariko, you're completely insane. I mean, wow.

Although this is a far weaker insane Mariko episode than the previous one, because that one had build up and stuff. This was just crazy Mariko, all the time.

faridmon said:
How do you know that?

Why would they buy out a company and not release their own series?

That'd be pretty neat.

Go watch Trapeze/Kuchuu Buranko right now.

The problem with calling IkaMusume 'Keroro lite' is that you are already comparing it less favourably to another show that is still airing. Different from those of us who say 'I'd rather watch Utena', which ended a long time ago. It's not good enough! You can just watch Keroro, which will likely still be around long after IkaMusume ends.

Fuck, I just realised that the Spine Will be different and Will calsh with the rest of my Library.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Fusk you Kodensha.

Excel Saga actually did something like that.

You know where this is going.
But I don't have to like it!

Let's see what admirable qualities Mairko demonstrated at the fair :

1. A complete distrust of men.
2. An apparent inability to get along well in mixed-gender social situations.
3. Near constant cock-blocking, of both genders.
4. Random mood swings.
5. Family problems.
6. Rampant paranoia.
7. A tendency to break-down in public.
8. A tendency to storm away dramatically.
9. An inability to take good advice.
10. Apparent jealousy.

This guy is a masochist..

I loved that episode. I love Mariko now, she is insane, but the kind of insane I like.
In that episode it was clear she was expressing the opposite of her real feelings, just expressing the anger that she had toward her father.
It made for great comedy, especially the fake crying.

Some men view things like this as a challenge.
It starts off fairly small like that but it gets worse. If I was to capture the whole affair I'd basically be taking the whole episode.

The best bit is nearer the end, where a couple of guys ask if she wants to go to the dance :

Arakawa Under the Bridge * 2: The seasonal dose of Kamiya and Shinbo. Well it was a pretty fun first episode. The entirety of the race was :lol Star doing a Mario parody, Sister simulating a warzone and the other enthusiastic competitors were amusing . Some good gif material too. Not that much to say but it's good to watch this show again. I expect many zoom in eye shots and Kamiya surprise yelps to come.
