Man they should have had Redline here![]()

DY_nasty said:Yeah pretty much.. It was a fun show for the most part. I remember Jex saying before I started on SDF that Macross wasn't about robots, it was about love triangles and music. I thought he was being sarcastic but I soon learned that Jex never jokes about anything.Plus I was kind of hoping that someone would have the balls to kill Ranka...
DY_nasty said:I'm actually kind of sad that there isn't any more Macross to watch. I hear Macross II is terrible though...
Zero was fun to look at... I just kinda wish more people would go back to the old days of non-cg machines. Its good when its good, but few do it good.luka said:Macross Zero is the exception to the rule. It's almost straight up mecha porn.
There's still the Frontier movie!![]()
It's not bad. I liked it more than the show itself and the promise of 100% new animation for the sequel makes me giddy. I'm not ashamed.

There's a sequel?!
Fixed.DY_nasty said:Thats pretty much in order too. Hope I'm not forgetting anything... Gonna start Crest of The Stars next.
:lol I'm torn... I don't want to start on Crest because I know it'll be a while before I can buy the other Banner stuff. YYH should be showing up no later than tomorrow.Lafiel said:Fixed.
Watch it NOW.
Also you are a better man then me. You have actually watched every macross series in existence, when i still haven't watched macross 7 past the first 3 episodes.:lol although maybe i can out-do you by watching macross II. I actually own it all on VHS.:lol

Oh lord do I hate all the main characters.
Let there be more episodes centred around improbable misunderstandings.

So our hero dreams that this girl he likes is getting married to this other man. Considering she's 15, that seems pretty unlikely.
Anyway, because he has psychic powers he takes it pretty seriously. The next day we see the girl get dropped off at school by a mysterious man in a suit. She's also sporting a ring on her finger. Then the girl keeps getting phone calls from someone, and eventually she leaves to go somewhere.
Our hero stalks her (obviously) and finds her at a chapel, wearing a wedding dress, with a man, at the alter in front of a priest.
Suffice to say, things get resolved in an improbable manner.

Heat Guy J 23 :
Why does everyone stand in the same spot of the office all day, every day? It's like the god dammed Normandy :
Actually, this was seriously the best episode of the series so far. I really didn't expect that, because the last few have been below awful. Why did this work? It didn't have any fights or plot movement or anything of that nature.

Exactly.Branduil said:That sounds ridiculous even by anime standards.
You'd think so, but half the shots look like that. Even in scenes that are supposed to be just idle banter :Branduil said:That office is so uncomfortable to look at. Are you sure it isn't intentional?
Obviously that anime was created by a madman. And not the productive kind of madman like Anno.Jexhius said:Exactly.

A few? Hope it isn't too many. Sunshine's first fight was some stellar stuff though. It's almost unfair how she has the best animation sequences. There's such a splendor to them unlike Blossom's and Marine's.A few of the upcoming episodes have pretty dull action sequences because Sunshine is so overpowered that the monster-of-the-week enemies don't get the chance to actually do anything before getting Gold Forte Burst'd to oblivion.
It looks like we won't get a repeat of that with Moonlight, however, since the villains are getting a significant power-up right after her reintroduction.

Someone playing Final Fantasy XIV is as good a reason as any to discount their opinions.

It's possible, but those delays are mostly because of reverse importing in Japan. It'll be a year or two if ever. I don't mind too much though unless it's Bandai who never brings anything over.icarus-daedelus said:I can see that, the portrayal of body language on Spice & Wolf is carefully done and super good. And you can't go wrong listening to Ami Koshimizu and Jun Fukuyama argue playfully, even if you don't know exactly what they're saying. It's just, it'd be a shame to waste such great dialogue even if you know the general *gist* of it. Great dialogue being so rare in animu. Hence why I am holding out a faint hope that funi will do the work for me and bring over the blurays, presumably as their eventual third or fourth re-release of the show.
icarus-daedelus said:After watching Angel's Egg, I feel compelled to watch the rest of Mamoru Oshii's catalogue all over again (plus the Urusei Yatsura movies, I guess, which I've never seen) because there's got to be something amazing and brilliant there that I missed the first time around. I feel like this is the only Oshii film, other than maybe Patlabor 2 and I guess Jin-Roh if you count it, that has really 'clicked' with me and avoided boring me to death or putting me to sleep.
Or maybe he's just gone slowly but surely downhill since then, having never found a collaborator as perfectly matched to his material as Amano, or perhaps never having come up with material as well-suited to his talents. Anyways, the moral of the story is that Angel's Egg is bloody amazing, and that allegorical storytelling is best storytelling.
- Highschool of the Dead to get a US/UK release courtesy of Sentai Filmworks and Manga Entertainment. http://www.uk-anime.net/newsitem/Manga_Entertainment_acquires_Highschool_of_the_Dead.htmlShow: A (Its an amazing show, thats all I can say)
Packaging: N/A
Video Quality: B+ (While likely not produced at 1080, the visual quality is great. The only flaw is a lack of extra detail.)
Audio Quality: A (Sounds great. Both audio tracks are relatively rich.)
English Dub: A (Its a great dub that is worth a listen even if you hate dubs.)
Extras: B+ (Tons of interviews, just tons. One missing obvious extra puts a little nick, and the lack of extras from the English crew seem suprising.)
Overall (not an average): A (Its just a great show, probably the best dramatic anime Ive watched in the last year.)
- US FLCL BD Box planned for Feburary. I guess the delay to next year is to fix King Records horrible Q-TEC upscale. http://twitter.com/#!/funimation/status/2707810167310/10/2010:
Manga Entertainment acquires Highschool of the Dead
Zombie anime coming to the UK in 2011
October 10th 2010 has been slated as the day for some new license announcements from Manga Entertainment for a while now, so here's the first of them for you - The company has now confirmed that they have licensed Madhouse's Highschool of the Dead anime, slated for a 2011 release in the UK.
Given the title, it probably goes without saying that the twelve episode series which only recently finished airing in Japan involves a zombie apocalypse, and follows a group of high school students as they fight for survival in its wake.
Manga's current plans are to release the series on both DVD and Blu-Ray with a June or July 2011 timeframe in mind, and with the company working with Sentai Filmworks on the Blu-Ray release...
- Panty & Stocking will be 6 volumes total. Last volume seems to include 3 episodes(75min) http://av.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20101008_398902.htmlFebruary. However, that is months away. Please do not hold it against me if that changes.
