Lol, what, are you trying to convince me to watch a scary movie with you?

Ghost Hound 4 : Sometimes I fall asleep watching this particular show. It's well made though, the direction creates a powerful mood for the necessary "weird/creepy" scenes.
And it's Production I.G. so most things look good, apart from the ugly CGI.
Ghost Hound 5 : I feel bad about not listening to this show with a proper sound system. What an odd thing to think.
The direction is surprisingly serious throughout, and contains no room for light-hearted comic relief or traditional anime tropes.
Violinist of Hameln 8 : Yes, I'm still watching this. And it's still awesome.
The most surprising thing about the show so far has to be it's pace. In only a small number of episodes plot threads that would take other shows a whole season have come and gone.
Oniisama...e 22 : Holy crap, that's more like it! I may not have enough screencaps for this episode, ever (currently at 17). So goood.
Crazy Miya service is the best kind of fanservice. The visual composition in this episode was pretty fucking awesome as well.
Nanako just chillin' by a river :
Yikes, truly like some kind of horror movie :
Whoever is in charge of Miya's facial expressions should get some kind of small award :
Honey and clover II 1 - Ohh, a recap episode to start the season of? good since i swear i forgot what happened at the end of S1 anyway. Good thing this recap refreshed my memory. And man it reminded me of how awesome H&C was.<3
Nah, but Tsubomi and many other girls in the show also fell victim to her charm. Even Erika admits she stayed at home for a while when she first discovered the truth.

Star Driver and Togainu no Chi are the only 2 anime series that I'm still watching this season.
Index II - I don't get how this show can be so laughably horrible, and then end with something awesome like that. I'm guessing the source material is probably a lot better than what we're getting.
Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru - Best episode yet. Can't wait for some of the manga chapters I've read to be animated, looking forward to how SHAFT does it.
MM! Episode 4:
I started choking on my food during this. :lol

Well it's certainly the case for a few light novel -> Anime adaptions. They rushed the actual story for Zero no Tsukaima Season 2 or 3 (Maybe both) at the end after they forgot it because they where putting out fanservice episodes for over half the season.

I am really enjoying Bakuman and am sad that its getting overlooked. Its quite slow and the standard shy dude gets the girl just because trope is there but the subject matter is interesting enough to have held my attention for 4 episodes.
So I'm sad about being a genius because I'm not allowed to play with friends and have to study all the time. Maybe if the rest of the world was "abnormal" like me, things would be better. HEY, IF EVERYONE IN THE WORLD WAS A PERVERT, THEY WOULD WANT TO PLAY HOUSE AND GO ON THE SEE-SAW WITH ME!
Milky Holmes: This show is pretty funny. I was told most of the goings on but it's more hilarious when you're watching it. Could really be the most comedic show of the season.
MM 5: Oh man the entire thing was ridiculous. Everything from Yamcha's beat up pose to the spirit bomb made of pervert energy. :lol

Finally, somebody else actually watches the show, instead of just judging it without even watching like everyone else who commented seemed to do. And yeah, it's hilarious when it's good, and decent to good when it's not. Very funny show. I think the second episode is the best of the three so far, but all three are solid.

Good to know, I got enough friends but I can never have enough enemies, plus I'd finally look normal if I actually had enemies, it would finally validate all my strange behavior.
Well you sure seem to be trying, what with all of your over-the-top Tessa hate.
Seriously, what? Cooler? Cooler? In what way? I could see one saying "cuter" or some shit but cooler? If Kaname had a stealth submarine under her command for awhile she'd probably end up conquering the world after being mistakenly provoked by some fishing boat on accident, giving it back to the people after being annoyed at how much work it takes to rule the world and then develop some space ship and go to Mars looking for a new frontier to conquer.
Hah, as if Kaname could handle a submarine? I mean, Kaname's good at some things (being tsundere, being useless most of the time when it matters, suddenly coming up with the answer at certain key moments thanks to the stuff in her head, etc), but I can't see her managing to be the captain of that sub, sorry...
Again though, I don't dislike Kaname at all... I just don't dislike Tessa either, and between the two probably slightly prefer Tessa.
Still though, your description there of Kaname conquering the world's pretty funny, it could happen that way... I mean, with the way she's tsundere, that would be the way to set it off, wouldn't it.
Because Gauron is that cool, much better than all the other bad guys in TSR!
spoiler =
Except Gauron of course!
But FMP! peaked around the second or third episode in terms of comedy, not to be matched again until Fumoffu's Rugby episode.
Maybe, but overall I like the first season best, TSR second, and Fumoffu third. I mean, Fumoffu was good, and some of the episodes were pretty funny, but I like the drama parts better.
Well, the series keeps going back and forth between the normal and not-normal Kaname...

5 bucks says this is the ending to Full Metal Panic.
Sousuke, after having been been powered up to the max with a proper love confession from Kaname and words of encouragement from Tessa, Mao and crew will look at the destruction around him, hop into his mech with a Lambda drive and with his newfound love determination and after a tearful and heartfelt goodbye to his machine will proceed to rewrite all of the present bringing back dead allies, erasing the physical destruction and wiping out all whispered knowledge including people's ability to further receive such knowledge. Of course all of this happening will be off screen/page and the viewer/reader will just get to the goodbye with his mech but that will be what happens. The next scene will be High School with Sousuke, Kaname and friends reminiscing about how short a time they've know Sousuke and they can't believe how well he's adjusted and how they're looking forward to graduation together. The end. But since the author also hates the readers after the ending there'll be a short chapter detailing how a certain silver-haired klutz, after having been put out of a job, will transfer into their class implying further triangle type hijinks will ensue.
What, in the light novels you mean? I hope not... could happen though, who knows, but given the way the two serious animes end at least, I doubt it. It'd probably be something sadder than that.

No, I can't, I can't accept a person's existence when one of that person's primary attributes is falling. Mithril could have just kept paying the school to shut the fuck up but I can't imagine what they gave God to overlook Tessa's clumsiness and not have her drown in the shower.
That's how I remember Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars ending, anyway, and that was the end of the series. Sailor Moon wins by refusing to fight, the enemy admits that yeah, they weren't actually evil just lonely, all of the dead companions are resurrected, happy end. I'm sure that's a little off, I didn't just watch it, but I think it was something like that.
Still, it makes the manga and live action endings all the more striking.
I don't know how the manga or live action versions end... how is it different? Does she actually fight? The last part got so, so annoying, with how Sailor Moon refused to do anything despite one of her allies after another getting killed... and then it's revealed that she was right all along, I think. I mean, it works, but it's frustrating. You're supposed to fight the evil supervillain final boss, usually, not refuse to kill them.
The storyline explanation for it was actually pretty decent, though, I will at least give the show that... but still, overall it was annoying (as was the show, often). Of course though, it's Sailor Moon, so how much should you really expect...
No, just an alternate version of part of the first game's story. It doesn't finish anything or get all that far, so you need to play the game to get much out of it. It's not terrible, but it doesn't have much of a point either.
I don't know if I'd call it over the top, not like I resort to pictures to prove my point or naything!

Zeroshiki was too picky demanding his female overlords be blue and I think you're not being picky enough in liking both Kaname and Tessa.

I liked the first season best as well, I don't want Kyoani to do the next season I want Gonzo to do it! TSR was probably my least favorites, none of the characters had any impact, the action was never top notch in FMP and the humor was lacking in TSR as well.
Outside when they were kidnapping the traitor and Sousuke's trying to talk to Kaname on his cell while trying to escape. He has more patience than I would with her.

Sousuke realizes that he has to erase whispered and their technology to bring peace to those he loves but also realizes that it is that conflict that allowed him to meet everyone he loved so by saving the world and resetting everything he will unfortunately be making it to where he never met Kaname, Mao, and everyone else(was there anyone else?). Despite knowing that he still makes the decision to do it, love rays arc out from his mech and the world is righted.
Next day, which happens to be the same day Sousuke transferred in the first time around so I guess they're going back in time somewhat, Kaname is sitting in class when they go to introduce a new transfer student, Sousuke! Seems fate is not without a sense of irony, he was a Japanese kid in Afghanistan after all, makes sense that he'd someday go home with his family, what the fuck was he there for anyways in the original timeline? Oh yeah, a convenient reason to have him meet Kaname in Japan when they go with the reboot ending, that's right. Oh man, another transfer student, this one's a foreigner! Tessa! Will they be friends or enemies? Ahh! Weber could be a perverted foreign English teacher at the high school!

Just because she has the cute-clumsy character trait doesn't mean that she's not otherwise quite competent at her actual job, which she definitely is.
I mean, she's quite competent at being a commander, and mostly seems to make good decisions in that job. She's not just cute and useless or something.
I am really enjoying Bakuman and am sad that its getting overlooked. Its quite slow and the standard shy dude gets the girl just because trope is there but the subject matter is interesting enough to have held my attention for 4 episodes.
Well, OreImo was at the bottom of my list for a reason, so sure. But we also obviously have some differences.
Index is kinda worse than Railgun, Railgun was more consistent with it's quality while Index fluctuates all over the place. Like I said, watching Index is more about seeing it through than the anime being legitimately good, I know some good things are coming up so I'll suffer through the bad parts to see them, that kind of thing. But I don't see how it can be worse than fucking Samurai Girls, but whatever.
Samurai Girls isn't exactly great, certainly, but at least it isn't a sequel to a series I haven't watched, and it's a somewhat different kind of show so different people are going to like each one. But yeah, I definitely would not defend it as some great (or good) anime, it's not that. Just a stupid amusement that I find tolerably entertaining enough to keep watching so far.
Plus, it's got a semi-historical setting, always a plus for me. I mean, if something doesn't have a historical setting how can I complain at length about how wrong it gets its history?
Railgun, Index, OreImo, Samurai Girls and so many other shows, you know what I hate the most that they have in common? The fucking male lead that falls on the female and lands in some embarrassing position usually with a hand or two on a breast or his face in their panties or some combination of the two. I'm no expert in falling and haven't fallen in a long time, outside of work where my vehicle stops every once in a while and throws me off the piece of shit, but of all the times I've ever fallen onto or towards someone's general direction I instinctively avoid that, I either don't want to be an ass and take them down with me or don't want to be a bigger ass and grab a breast or land my face into some dude's cock, either way I think a normal, competent, reasonably intelligent male would have to purposely fall on a woman to end up in that position, it just doesn't really happen on accident. It drives me nuts when I see this in anime as it's as implausible as vampires when it happens once and more unrealistic than time travel, aliens, magic, whatever when there's a character who does it repeatedly. Seriously. Show of hands from guys who have "accidentally" fallen onto a girl, or boy really, like that. Any? And if you did it on purpose put your hand back down. That's what I thought. This is probably the most unrealistic depiction of human behavior I see in anime.
It's even more absurd when it's someone like Touma from Index or some other character who at this point is reasonably nimble through fighting that they should be able to avoid being drug down by a girl half their weight or feel the need to brace their own fall with their tits.
That said I can't help but finish Index and as much as I hate to say it I actually like Misaka even though she's a middle schooler as much as it pains me to say so.
Of all the things in anime to complain about, you choose that?
I mean, of course it's stupid, but there are so many traditional anime stereotype scenes like that that complaining about all of them would take a long time... it'd probably be right on almost all counts, but it'd take forever.

Probably, unless it was one of the rare times when we get serious Kaname...

TSR went a little overboard with the cruelty too, those two (incestual) twin sisters who Gauron had brainwashed into being evil both die such incredibly cruel deaths... I mean sure, they were evil, but it was Gauron's fault, not theirs, but they both die horribly even so. At least Gauron dies for good(?) in the end, which helped some.
Still, despite that I agree TSR definitely wasn't the equal of the first season, it was pretty good.
Fine!

Yeah that made me cringe. The main guy and girl are cookie cutter as all hell but Takagi is an awesome character and, as I said, the premise (learn to be a mangaka) is really good.
Also, it has an OP by kobukuro. That automatically makes the show awesome.
Despite how much I love the manga, I'd have to agree so far. It just seems so flat, hasn't made for a very good anime at all. Most of the interesting characters haven't been introduced yet though, so hopefully it'll pick up. :/
Samurai Girls isn't exactly great, certainly, but at least it isn't a sequel to a series I haven't watched, and it's a somewhat different kind of show so different people are going to like each one. That's a little unfair is it not? To call me out on my gripe only to introduce an equally minor gripe about historical accuracy in alternate timeline settings.
Please don't bring up my previous argument over sexism, please don't bring up my previous argument over sexism, come on, don't bring it up, I wanna look morally superior here!

For me it's, how to put this, I guess I don't mind if someone plays with the story or the appearance of characters to make a new setting but for some reason it irks me when they go and re-imagine the human condition and make people unrealistically clumsy. If they wanna do that they should introduce a new race or something, I can't recognize these walking accidents as people. More to the point, as a kind of fanservice or slightly erotic measure it fails because of the improbability of it all. I mean, I'm more likely to sleep with a supermodel than I am to fall on a girl like that in real life, so if reality is already better than the fanservice fiction they're serving up just what is the point here? It's a step back. It fails on the most basic level.
I know no such thing! I don't go and make a thread dedicated to it I just throw my 2 cents in whenever she's brought up. It only seems over the top to people of the opposite opinion.
The last or next to last episode of the first season where she commanded the sub from that chair. Of course she'd need a maintenance crew but she pretty much made everyone else redundant, not that they aren't already considering the thing has an AI that does most orders verbally anyways. Tessa always was some kind of mascot for the ship, there just because she designed it.

As much as I liked Gauron it was really getting old him showing up over and over after seemingly being vaporized. He better be dead for good. Those two girls were also meaningless at that, they're related to Gauron for no damn reason and just show up, it was stupid, and then sword girl, who was all bad ass against all those Mithril dudes can't even kill Kaname, it was a fucking joke, terrible writing.

... I don't know whether to hate you for this or to be impressed at how good you are at writing generic anime non-ending endings...
I always harken back to Fumoffu, if she thinks she should be in the habit of getting wet because she's a submariner, a profession which by definition should not entail getting wet as that's the whole point of the submarine itself, then I think she can drown in the shower. Infact, I'm going to put forth some effort and write a nice fanfic explaining just how this comes to be.
Edit: Also, I clearly understand the alternate meaning of her statement, not going there as as a character she'd have to believe the meaning above is valid for her to utter it.
Yeah I kinda lost all motivation to watch Bakuman after the ridiculous stuff revealed in EP3. I mean, the romance thing started kinda stupid, then it got really stupid.
I don't even know who lets mAcOdIn and Black Falcon talk to each other!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Characters are generally meant to be somewhat predictable, that's what makes them characters as opposed to ciphers that bend towards whatever the writer wants to happen at any given time.
Still, there's always something deliciously interesting about a character who can just do things in an almost random fashion. See episode 22 of Oniisama...e :
The "WTF will Miya-do-next" is one of the most interesting parts about her behaviour.
Nothing in the last six episodes happens in the manga, including all story revelations. That isn't to say the rest is all that similar either. The whole anime is more "inspired by" than "based on".

Anyway there's a bit more to be said for this episode.
It's hella U.C. Gundam porn, but it isn't stupid (well, the protagonist is classic Gundam protagonist but it's handled smoothly).
The plot may still revolve around this blasted MacGuffin but that doesn't make it shallow or weak, the whole work feels very solid. Quite a bit of this probably relates to the UC universe being fairly complicated by this point.
The action was pretty awesome too, even if it was afflicted by some military-genre-cliches. E.g., the hero can't be too awesome yet because he has to get kicked in the pants a bit first. It was still very pretty, and fairly fluid for the most part. But the show isn't mecha-battle porn, it's far more talky then that.
It largely seems to be people treating the U.C. Gundam universe with great care and reverence. Perhaps this stops the show from getting too wildly different or experimental, but it's certainly a pleasure to see someone treating a venerable franchise this thoughtfully.
Star Driver 5 : Starring everyone's favourite ephebophilie nurse!
That was certainly an improvement on last weeks episode.
That the power of cybody can have effects outside zero time is possibly interesting, if they go on longer for a few minutes. As they seem to cause earthquakes I guess we won't be seeing too much of them.
That mecha design was pretty awesome, and the fight was shaping up to be one of the more interesting ones. Suffice to say, I've never seen a mech battle end in such a manner.
Also, the show discusses reverse harems. I guess Firehawk12 is happy.
Sure, that's why you're taking all those screencaps.
Oniisama...e 23 : Miya throws herself an 18th birthday party. It goes exactly as you'd hope.
Nanko, why you even taking phone calls from this loony?
Because she's awesome.
The lighting for the cake scene was awesome. Miya looks so angelic. But you can tell there's something nasty going on in her head. She reminds of another women with a thousand facial expressions, Eva from Monster.
As usual, the people in charge of colour for these scenes should be commended, they all looked gorgeous.
Just a lil' get together for Miya and 350 of her closest friends :
