You know what isn't that great: Ninja Scroll.

Sure has pretty animation and designs though.

I've don't think I've ever loved a Yoshiaki Kawajiri production, even if I've enjoyed his OVA's and designs.

She's only 14!

Titania? Or are you talking about something in the same universe?
Thank you

Thats definitely it. I've been trying to remember the name of that all day.

So which Lupin films should I actually watch, beyond Cagliostro?

ATV 21: If I were Chirico I'd have already killed my commander.

Akamatsu is a hack.

I'm pretty sure I know why most people like it.

Crossdressing exclusive magazine! All focusing on manga relating to crossdressing, information on crossdressing, and games that have crossdressing! There is never too much!

How the ef did I not know about this before now?!

Edit: Oh, maybe I did! There have been enough otokonoko publications in the last year or so that I'm starting to get them mixed up. *laughs*

zeroshiki said:
Wait...

男の娘 is otokonoko?! WHAT THE HELL?

Yeah, it uses a different reading of 娘 to make a play on the typical 男の子. (Unless your question was referencing something different.)

Do tell...

Well, there's this, and if I remember correctly a specifically "boys dressed as girls" cosplay mag that started up in Japan in the middle of last year. I almost want to say that there's yet another publication of some sort (either lifestyle mag or manga mag), but at the moment I'm not certain.

I'd always seen otokonoko referenced on here and never got how it would be a reference to crossdressers and then I saw the scan posted of 男の娘 and didn't get the connection either. I just got it after your post.

Gundam ZZ 6: You know, this isn't really any better or worse than Gundam Zeta so far, and it has a more likeable antagonist (although the sporadic injections of comedy don't always work).

Okay, prepare for the short list of stuff in regards to gender changing.

What's the long list?

Anyway I always start from Family Compo and go back from there. I'll add Hanakimi and Ouran should count too.

There is no long list, it is just much shorter than its counterpart.

Assuming it isn't banned.

Yeah, it sucks that it got passed.

The anime market is barely hanging on by pandering to a small market, what will they do now if they are limited in how they can pander to this small market (and getting smaller each year).

Don't worry, now every character ever will look 12 years old but they'll all be 800 year old vampires, making it totally legal.

Or they'll be aliens that just resemble humans.

How many years old is a drawing anyway?

don't think any kind of fictional workaround will fix teh gay and crossdressing, unless their all aliens then it would be speciesist to discriminate their mating rituals.

It's not gay if they look mostly female!
To me anyways.

Tokyo ban -- Yeah, that's awful. Definitely a violation of any reasonable freedom of speech, but I don't know if they have that in Japan... I just hope the growing protests force them to back down on it eventually.

I'm pleased someone else likes Yubisaki Milk Tea. Hcoregamer00 has some nice crossdressing taste!

Thanks, I guess I should be flattered, but it doesn't feel like it :lol

If shit like Yosuga no Sora gets banned or whatever I'm all for it, but stuff like Oreimo loses it's impact if Kirino obsesses over the mini sailormoon anime rather than the eroge.
I've only seen the censored English liscenced version of Sailormoon. :<

I don't watch that, but even so, I wouldn't be for a ban on it even if it was the shittiest anime ever made. If someone out there likes it, who am I to say they shouldn't have the ability to watch it. I'm still free to ignore it just as much as they are free to watch it.

That said, after the last posts in the thread about it, I think I should definitely check it out (whenever I'll find time, I still have Utena to start!). After all, I like incest, and twincest is wincest.

So another 13-26 episodes of the same thing over and over again? :lol

I'm going to write a manga about myself asking a girl I barely know to marry me if I can marathon all of Bakuman and survive.
This may or may not be a joke. At this point, it's sadly hard to tell.

Sorry was still in BAN THIS SICK FILFTH mode from when I watched episode 11 yesterday, a right out ban would be too harsh given the other stuff out there.

I'll accept there are people who enjoy that type of thing, but the only thing stopping it from being a right out hentai was the camera angle not pointing at specific parts by mere millimetres, that's some messed up form of censorship.

Well, I suppose the point of the new law is make stuff like that no different from hentai, right?

From raito_kun's twitter:

Btw, another ex-Madhouse director from the same generation as Hirao will direct a new anime.

I’m talking about Ryosuke Nakamura of Mouryou no Hako/Aoi Bungaku fame. The project is unspecified for now.
Fuck yes. I doubt anyone else cares but that's awesome news for me!

U crazy....
tries to look up that book.....

Anyways... fuck the ban. I can't believe all this. Seriously where is the evidence? Somebody show me some data that viewing depictions of "illegal activity" actually fosters or increases said activity. It doesn't. Typically, it will even have an opposite effect. Show me the data that minors viewing this material encourages them to do so. Why the fuck does it seem like this bill was shoved through by moral(tards?), with no evidence to back their reasoning... blah, blah blah, traditionalists appealing to traditionalists.

It's alright with you until you realise they've taken away Spice and Wolf for ever!
Lol, so World War III will start by Japan launching a surprise attack on my little apartment in Amarillo Texas? Bring it. Bring it Japan. Because I will buy all the novels and translate them myself, that's right, I can actually learn how to do things myself, then I'll set up underground websites and pump it right back to Japan! And after their attempt to take my life in what's sure to be a spectacular display of power I'll swim across the Pacific and infiltrate Japan MIA Chuck Norris style and bring the author back to America with me and pump out more and more books. That's right, I know it was supposed to end already but pretty sure the author'll do more when confronted with my hardcore resolve and the opportunity to do legit social commentary in a fantasy medieval setting!

Jexhius said:
And you're secretly pleased by a really vaguely worded bill affect manga/anime, but no other mediums, even though the repercussions of such a law (virtual crime, or so these 'sources' say) are completely unknown? That's kind of a disturbing thing to be pleased about!
I'm a disturbing person, what can I say? Truthfully, I think there's a hell of a lot of crap in anime and manga, probably novels too. If someone wanted my true honest to goodness position on the law I'd be against it, which is what I meant by being legally opposed to it but I'm not Japanese so my opinion is moot on the matter, I expect my opinion to count for their laws about as much as I take their opinion regarding one of my laws. But anyways, on that front I do not support the law, no matter my ignorance on the law because I don't like censorship. In my fantasy world however, there wouldn't be all this smut.

But to step back a bit and say why I'm secretly pleased with the law, the only reason some of this manga and anime is popular is because there is no western equivalent. People, including myself, clearly survived and lived just fine before gender bending, incest or rape manga and anime was produced and will continue to live if it ceased. Japan is currently serving as the smut producer of the world in that regard and it's kind of amusing, you get such fancy meme statements like "oh Japan," or "never change Japan," lol, it's hilarious. Would I personally be saddened if that went away? Not really. Would I personally be saddened if 97% of manga and anime disappeared? Probably not. Humanity is an odd thing because lets approach it from the position that even things like Spice and Wolf would be banned. Ok, I'll bite, so what? It's one thing to give me Spice and Wolf and then take it away, that kind of sucks, but had I never seen or read it, then what? Would I care then? So the direct aftermath of course sucks but that's it, after that it's not so bad.

But again, there's a difference between what I personally think and what I think legally should happen. If there's a market for things I disagree with and people want to make it, well I don't see why that should be prohibited legally.
