why increase the cap level? It's fine that way, it forces you to specialize in something every run instead of being a "general" baddass that can do everything :/

All 3 bougth day 1, of course.

I think of this as the same that happens in WoW from time to time. Originally it was 60... then 70...

I'll have one of each please. Day 1 too. GotY for me.

Btw I have it on the 360 but I hope it's just a timed exclusive regarding the PS3. "Crippled" versions are the bane of this gen. It's as if some people that already bought the game are second citizens or something.

I don't know, man. I'm not sure exclusive DLC has really made a difference so far.

GTA4? Maybe, but many people have already moved on from the game so I highly doubt this is going to be the big deal it was touted to be. Mirror's Edge? Instead of 7 maps for $10, PS3 owners get 8 maps for $10? BioShock? This wasn't even supposed to be exclusive DLC, it was supposed to be day one and free, but I guess this counts--do any PS3 owners feel the exclusive DLC was worth $10 and really represents a bonus over the 360 version? Guitar Hero Halo theme for 360? Who played that after the first few days? I will say that the Fallout DLC seems to be the most compelling exclusive DLC thusfar, though.

I mean, I certainly agree that shitty or inconsistent port efforts have been a drag on this gen, but exclusive DLC has hardly been an inconvenience to anyone thusfar :p

Would be interesting to hear from SteveMeister on this... I'm still playing through my first time and only at lvl 16, but obviously there are quite a few folks who will be primarily interested in raising the cap so I wonder what kind of time frame we're looking at.

Fuck you man. Just thinking about how absolutely retarded the notion of exclusive downloadable content is a fucking inconvenience.

I have to say, though, I was rather taken aback that, basically, an entire segment of the regular retail game, that is however many levels you would be able to gain over the cap, would be completely cut off from a segment of users. That's a pretty massive coup for the 360. Even the GTA DLC will be most likely completely independent of the retail game.

They'll probably be offered in the same way that the "Shivering Isles" and "Knights of the Nine" were offered in cheap, plastic cases with flimsy fliers inside some time after the 360 version is released, or combined into one disc as they did with all of the DLC plugins when "Knights" came out.

Oh ho ho, is that a railgun I see?

Definitely looking forward to this, just hope that PC owners don't have too long to wait.

Exclusive DLC made me buy GRAW 2 on 360 over PS3 for the two major co-op collections. That was 10 missions and 18 maps worth. So yeah, I'd say having exclusive dlc can sway some people, it just depends on the content. It's a shitty trend that I wish would die in a fire. I'd rather they just make the entire game exclusive instead of screwing buyers of one sku out of additional stuff when they spent their money just the same as the other platform owners.

Though it's no shock Fallout 3 has exclusive content coming to PC/360. This is Bethesda afterall. They did this song and dance with Oblivion already.

Oh, I hadn't heard about the GRAW 2 DLC. That sounds like a pretty good example of a way in which my hypothesis would be wrong.

I do think it's a shitty trend and definitely something to be avoided. I was just remarking that it seemed like thusfar it's been more of a shitty concept than an actual harmful implementation that was impeding gamers from playing the levels they wanted to play.

At the pace I'm going now(30 hours, zero main questing), I probably won't get to the main quest until after all three DLC packs. So what do you guys think the new level cap will be? 25 maybe?...hopefully 30!

Did anyone read the IGN interview bit where they hinted at the Pittsburg DLC? Sounds like maybe
Zombies
or something similar. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

There is no need to raise the level cap. They should just increase the amount of experience required to gain a level, because it is way too easy to get to 20.

Agreed.

I haven't explored almost half the map (probably only really dug in and found all the Quantum Soda / Pre-War Books / Skill Books in ~60% of the areas I've been to) I haven't done almost a third of the quests, I've barely started the main story quests, and I'm at L20.

Continuing on at this point before the level cap is raised is almost dumb. Gonna do it anyway. :lol

I've got quite a few skill books left to find in order to get to 100 in every skill.

it kinda sucks that its a simulation

i guess that means you cant bring weapons and stuff back to the "real" world with you

I'm sure there will be a quest, Achievement points, and a reward for doing it.

Completely agreed.

And I'm not the biggest fan of DLC but I'll buy the fuck out of this. I find it easier to accept when the original game already has a shitload of content like FO3, I haven't even seen/done everything after dozens of hours so it doesn't feel so much like I'm getting robbed.

Eh, I want more perks damn it. :D Plenty of reasons to raise the cap. :D

I don't see any point in raising the level cap. I'm at level 20 and I've pretty much maxed out my character and I still have about 260 books to find and 4 more bobble heads. If I gained a level now I wouldn't be able to put my skill points in anything but melee and unarmed. Skills I have absolutely no need for.

how will the DLC be accessed? Because if you beat the game then the last save you have is the last mission and you can't get out of that?

Excellent. Glad I got the 360 version. Looks like Bethesda has learned from the horse armor debacle and is delivering some serious DLC.

In a game already so chocked full of content it's nice to see these add on's for those of us addicted to Fallout. :D

Ill take matters into my own hands and change your beloved DC into the capital wasteland if the DLC isnt going to get released for the PS3...I swear to god.

It pains me that I will have to wait until March. My character is level 20 so I'm going to get all 3 packs when the cap is raised.

Start a new character and level them up some, tada! You're ready to go.

Nah, I have 70 hours invested in him and I'm rather fond of him so I'll wait. It doesn't have the same replayability, to me, as Oblivion did. I had various characters tailored for various guilds. In this you're either good or bad so for me it's more of a one character game.

Ramble oer.

I'll be getting this but stealth oriented??? I think i have 0 in that skill or something hehe...glad about the bug fixes, which will hopefully don't need the DLC being bought to work,my nephew can maybe start playing again after...

Anyone know if this will be IP/region-locked? I can't download the map pack that comes with GoW2 as it tells me it's not available in my region (Middle East).
