Fallout 4 and Skyrim Might Be In The Same Universe

Or its just an Easter Egg that's a throwback to another Bethesda franchise.

Why does everything have to imply that 1. Everyone's dead (looking at you 90's cartoon fan theories) or that everything is in the same Universe?

Didn't you know every single Pixar movie takes place in the same world?

It's the Donkey Kong Extended Universe.

The Elder Scrolls series exists in the same universe as Portal, which exists in the same universe as Left 4 Dead, which exists in the same universe as Resident Evil, which exists in the same universe as Megaman, which exists in the same universe as Donkey Kong.

All games tie back to Donkey Kong.

which exists in the same universe as Mario, therefore...

Mario has the deepest lore.

Both games have sweetrolls too, though Skyrim's looks decidedly tastier and more thievable.

And as a bonus, Fallout 3:

If that's not confirmation that they're in the same universe, then... well yeah, I guess it isn't.

I like me some good speculation, but a pet peeve of mine is when an obvious easter egg is somehow used to support the theory of two works of fiction being linked. No, The Elder Scrolls games aren't tied to the Fallout games. Jak and Daxter isn't tied to Uncharted.

Staph.

If that's the case then it's in the same universe as Dr Who, Star Trek, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Zyborne Clock, Wasteland, Mad Max, A Boy and his Dog, Dune, Final Fantasy, and like 30 other ips. There are that many direct references in Fallout games.

I really don't care for things to be in the same universe, unless there is a specific need for them both to do so.

Finding out that Final Fantasy 13 is connected to Final Fantasy 7 after the fact in an interview does not make me enjoy the stories any more. It's kind of the opposite. Fallout and Skyrim in the same universe? Seems forced.

Elder Scrolls' actual future is way more fucked up than Fallout. Read up on KINMUNE.

Tamriel and Earth are just too different to be the same, even if they were hypothetically millions of years apart. It'd just be too much of a stretch, and at that point, what's the point if it's so chronologically removed?

I think there's more than just the nirnroot-alike but I'd have to do some digging to make sure I'm not just assuming. I remember finding a terminal that seemed to make reference to some oddly daedric sounding phenomena and a statue that didn't match the other art-deco statues in Boston, but I'm not sure if these are meant to be (FO4 side quest spoilers)
related to the Dunwich stuff or aliens or something
rather than actual links to TES. I've also seen the idea tossed around that
those aforementioned quests (at least the alien/artifact one) ARE meant to be TES related, i.e the artifact is dwemer or something.

I mean, technically with the way TES lore works, it... could be done? I guess? Easter eggs are usually just that, though.

It could work if that was the intention of the developers, but here? It's obviously not.

The running animation in all naughty dog games is so similar!

Idk if that's actually the case but it's always seemed like that to me

And Zelda. And Mario.

That then links into Smash which links to Street Fighter which links to Tekken which links back to Mario.

I'm pretty sure given the amount of companies that have crossed over with Mario and Street Fighter, and using Smash Bros, you could connect nearly every game in existence back to Mario.

Mario's had some bizarre cross overs that would make some odd ties, like NBA Street.

So the click bait contributor posts something and people thing an easter egg is more than that? WELP.

guess Kotaku got their clicks today based on absolutely nothing.

This is Kotaku baiting clicks like the thirtiest bastard they are. Don't use it as an excuse to trash Bethesda for doing what literally every other developer does.

True, I don't take the article serious since an easter egg is just that, but I was just stating that if at some point Bethesda tried to fuck with the lore in this way, I'd be out :P

Well since apparently civilization was birthed by ancient aliens in FO4s Earth, maybe said aliens are from TES, or conversely both TES and Earth in FO4 come from the same proto civ.

Perhaps magic is sourced from radiation. Deathclaws became dragons. The daedric gods are actually alien overlords or people who kept taking Cabot's syrum. Everything is a conspiracy.

Going by that logic then Wolfenstein is set in those worlds as well as you can find a skyrim helmet in Old Blood

Edit: Seriously you guys going on about Kotaku bait clicking are just cynical bastards, it's just a fun article....

Just read the article... it's clearly a joke article.

You people who are taking this seriously and actually getting angry over it need to go outside and get some fucking fresh air.

Mr Handy appears in Dota 2, which also has a Chocobo in it. Cloud is in Smash. Mario is in Smash. Mario once played basketball with the Beastie Boys in NBA Street 3.

A Pip Boy is in TF2. TF2 has a Shogun Total War Kabuto in it. A Shogun from Total War was in Sonic All Star Racing. Danicia Patrick was also a racer in that game.

WE LIVE IN THE SAME UNIVERSE AS MARIO, FINAL FANTASY, FALLOUT AND THE ELDER SCROLLS

How far does this rabbit hole go!?

People always want to link "universes" with simple easter eggs. Biggest bullshit I've seen what with Watch_Dogs being in Assassin's Creed universe because you had really nice easter eggs. The lead writers and devs told everyone that it was just easter eggs, but people stil made crazy theories about how Aiden Pearce is an Assassin or how this character is a Templar. Loved it.

This sounds like fodder for one of those token "5 Awesome Things You Need To Know About Fallout 4" videos YouTube personalities are cashing in on.
