Fallout: New Vegas is Gold and PC System Requirements

That's kind of disappointing to me if true. I loved just wandering around in Fallout 3.
Yeah, but lots and lots of un-used space, When I was exploring it felt such relief when I found some sort of town.:lol

That was what was great about it, for me. Finding a little shack and imagining the stories of what went on here.

There's a bunch of good dev diaries on IGN. I hadn't seen them before. No big spoilers, just some areas I hadn't seen.

Has there been any news on modability for New Vegas? I've been spoiled since Oblivion, can't really play Bethesda (well Obsidian but whatever, same engine) games without them.

Will the Fallout: New Vegas Version of the GECK ship with the game, or be downloadable on release?
From @The3rdType via Twitter

JS: Yes. In addition to the normal GECK functionality F3 modders have come to expect, the F:NV GECK will allow modification of ammo lists, ammo subtypes, the hardcore "basic needs" rates, and a lot of the other new bits of data we have added. It will also contain the F:NV dialogue editor, which can be used with or without the standard F3 dialogue editor.

Really looking forward to this. though the smaller world is slightly disappointing, as I did enjoy just wandering around.

My most anticipated game this year.

Hopefully it's as good as Fallout 3....I really can't see it being bad. Looking forward to sinking another 100 hours into a Fallout game.

Same here. The exploration was my favorite part of Fallout 3. I've put over 500 hours in on 5 different playthroughs and I'm still finding new little things here and there.

Thank god they are including better dialog tools with the GECK, because bethesda has the most ridiculous method of dialog implementation I've ever seen. Not that it isn't warranted, due to the nature of how quests work in that game, but DAMN it is confusing at first.

Am I the only one who can't get hyped for this at all :/

Nope you arent. I loved F1&2&T played 3 and dont know what to expect from New Vegas. I'll be getting it anyway to see what they changed.

No. There are plenty people who are not hyped.

In fact, if you divided the amount of people on NeoGAF that are hyped, by the number of actual NeoGAF users, I'm sure less than 5% of NeoGAF is hyped.

However, due to the fact that this is a thread about Fallout New Vegas, it is sure to attract those who are hyped primarily. Hence why there is a perception in this thread that there are a lot of people who are hyped.

I'm hella hyped.

If you really think a mouse is in anyway necessary for this game, you are playing it completely wrong.

Yeah, and it was a great game. Don't let silly reviewers and frequently clunky action/stealth turn you off. It had great writing, lots of real, meaningful choice, plenty of interesting and diverse locations, rich character development, and yes, even some fun combat.

Fallout 3 was a good game, but didn't have any of those things, really. I think Obsidian has a solid chance of drastically improving on it.

I didn't see Alpha Protocol. I played it. And it's easily my Game of the Year so far. Just because it lacks the polish of a Mass Effect doesn't mean it doesn't show off Obsidian's expertise - great characters, great storyline, and a fantastic choice and consequence system.

Do you really think Bethesda have just let them do what they want with this game? It's a multi million dollar product and the the IP is subject to a lawsuit for the rights to a game. It's going to be very Fallout 3.

Hyype. Cant wait for it. Im going to wait though to get it to see what kind of mods come out of the nexus/community.

Well a month or two ago more New Vegas surpassed the amount of pre-orders for Fallout 3 so there might be more people hyped for this game.

oh my mistake - Alpha Protocol was only a few thousand dollar project.

Alpha Protocol was probably one of my favorite games this year, so Day 1!

I've still not completed F3. Should probably get round to it before this + Fable come out or I probably never will..

WTF is going on in here?

I am counting something like six people saying Alpha Protocol was a great game. But I never got that game because everyone at the time said it was a piece of shit!

Did I miss a diamond in the rough?

Yes. Although to be more accurate, it's more a piece of coal than a rough diamond. :lol

It's right up your alley. Freedom, great writing, a story that changes due to your choices (DRASTICALLY). Basically, everything we've bitched about for ages with modern WRPGs. It's definitely buggy and feels very unfinished, but it's a tremendous RPG in its own rights.

Basically, if you don't give it a shot, you have no right to bitch in the ME3 thread when they "streamline" all character stats out.
