I think the Xbox 360 is definately going to do better than its predecessor in Japan. But then again....that isn't really saying much.

I figured Samurai Warriors 2 would be out in Feb. Looking forward to it. Wish there was an X360 version too available right away.

I hope so. I know 33 & 36 are great, but I want both RG's to be masterpieces, 37 or above :D

Did you play the demo? If not you really should. Rough edges abound and pretty low-end visuals, but otherwise it's the game they promised.

Well, I think a lot of it has to do with the subject matter. People looooove their Yakuza dramas and there really hasn't been a good Yakuza game that I can recall, so people are excited that they're finally getting one. Probably a lot more appealing to the Japanese audience than playing as a guy in 1980s Japan who is looking for sailors.

Also don't forget that a lot of what made Shenmue such a great experience was really in the eye of western gamers. Unlike Japanese gamers who experience walking around rural Japan everyday, for people in the west it was the first time they could live vicariously through their tv and get a glimpse of living in Japan.

Personally I doubt it'll be anywhere near Shenmue I/II in quality/experience. But at the same time I think it could be very awesome and be the best Shenmue experience since Shenmue.

Well i'm not saying it'll be better than Shenmue as its my 3rd favorite series this gen. But I don't think Ryu was really expected to score anything near the score it did even from Famitsu. From the looks of it the game will exceed almost everyones expectations for it. That's something Shenmue didn't have a chance of because of how hyped it was.

I'd like to know what the playable arcades are in the game. I've heard there were VF arcades in the demo but you couldn't play them.

Well...the graphics are worse than Shenmue and it's almost 2006 ^^; But at the same time they can have a ton of people on screen without any slowdown and a stable 30fps so it's a decent tradeoff.

Those scores are awesome.

Rogue Galaxy and Ryu ga Gotoku along with the SOTC soundtrack next. Sounds great!

I'd like to try MGA2 as well, but based on Bebpo's warnings (regarding the original), I think it might be a bit too much for me right now.
