Legends Z-A launch sales only on switch 1 overtook MH Wilds total retail sales in Japan. Before being tied to PS5, MH were more competitive with Pokemon when it comes to sales.

Sarah Bond commenting: "Its antiquated to sell 200k consoles in one week, its modern to sell 150 consoles a week in Japan like we do".

WOW !! Those are some stunningly high level of console sales numbers. I don't think I have ever seen a console sell that many units in one week. The Nintendo Switch 2 is most definitely going to dominate the video game industry. I strongly believe that.

I think Minecraft is one of few western games that doesn't sell niche numbers in Japan. In general only Japanese games are relevant when it comes to console games in Japan.

This just pisses me off even more knowing the budgets they give these pokemon games....

Why would that piss you off? The big problem with most AAA games (especially Western ones) is they have bloated budgets.

$300 million, $500 million, $1 billion even, and for what? A few extra hair follicles and 3.14% more pixels on screen that you wouldn't even notice while playing? Longer cutscenes that do nothing but pad play time while telling mostly mediocre wannabe-Hollywood epic stories (and considering Hollywood today is mostly trash)? Paying big-name actors & actresses, writers etc. who charge too much for what they provide, because their agents & guilds have to get paid too?

Nintendo's found a very good strategy with keeping costs low and still delivering what the vast majority of their fans & customers want. Clearly, otherwise we wouldn't be getting results like those seen ITT.

I think Minecraft is one of few western games that doesn't sell niche numbers in Japan. In general only Japanese games are relevant when it comes to console games in Japan.

Minecraft also happens to have a pretty universal aesthetic, and it's all-ages friendly. So yeah, no surprise it does well globally where most other Western games struggle to do so, especially in countries like Japan.

Switch 2 Pokemon ZA only 260k from Switch 1!! Damn, that's great!

Was not expecting over 200 thousand Switch 2's sold. That's much higher than I thought.

God knows what Pokemon has done world wide with digital as well.

Why?? People that brought the game are enjoying it…
This is the problem with a couple of people here, most won't admit it but they can't handle Nintendo games having higher sales with lower budget than their favorite studio.
Entirely ignoring that a fun game and good gameplay has nothing to do with the budget..

It's also impressive since the price is higher.

I don't think so?
Its more about double standarts. And I'm not talking about Nintendo games since they are usually high quality and creativity. I'm talking about specifically about Pokemon games that has being proven reducing drastically in budget while producing absolute nothing in return.

We can even play a game of future guessing. Next pokemon generation will make gazillions but will be a terrible state, missing stuff, etc. And thats where the double standarts comes from, which would makes one wonder if all those other slop failure games would being sucessful if they had Pokemon brand name attach to it. Gamefreak proved multiple times the only thing they made that sells are pokemon games.
But who cares really, anyone can continue to play while spamming the "stop having fun" meme every time quality its put in the table. Makes no difference whatsoever.

And this is the problem with these comments, how am i supposed to take this seriously?
The people who actually bought the game love it, how can you say they produce absolutely nothing.

There is a huge gap between 20M and 300M, you know.
As for why would that piss anyone off? Why not? It's the newest $70 entry in the series that looks as bland, ugly and limited as possible. Heck, it's main problem isn't exactly its budget, it's the fact that no one in the development team seems to bother on creating an actual product resembling any sort of genuine care put into it.
Why would you when it's going to sell, anyway? It's Pokémon, the biggest transmedia property catering to children, but that's not a good argument as for why you, the consumer, shouldn't care about getting a better product.
But also, if this forum were remotely consistent, we wouldn't bitch about the yearly, lazy EA Sports FC and COD rehashes. They are 'good business decisions', after all, lol.

And why should I take yours? Relax kid, don't take it personnal and enjoy your games. My commentary won't change your enjoyment.
Why comment at all then, just to annoy other people?
Also "relax kid" i don't know how old you are, maybe it's a culture thing but i'm not a kid.

Do you think cross-generation releases actually result into notably higher sales or do they just cannibalize each other? Woopah Woopah
I thought both versions of Z-A would push it closer to 1M each one, but the fact that results seem to be very flat compared to the first Legends title is a VERY similar trend to PS4/PS5 cross-generation releases in the past. It makes me wonder what would happen had all these games been next-generation only releases.

Why comment at all then, just to annoy other people?

In which part did I ever want to annoy other people? I only gave an explanation for why the criticism.
Seriously bud, you have a hard time understanding. Go enjoy your game, I'm not here to spoil your enjoyment.
