Fanservice Designs (That Are Justifiable)

Is this intended to prove that women aren't sexualised...

...or that they just don't exist at all?

No im not saying they don't exist but my point would be that

the ratio to objectified fictional female characters in games vs non objectified fictional female characters especially in "mainstream" games in 2017 or even 2016 is totally skewed in one direction. For every Quiet or Cindy there are 10+ Aloys/Ellies these days and more coming in 2018. In western games I would say it's pretty much game over. It has come to a point where people don't even criticize western female characters clothing anymore and just point out that they are a bit too pretty or have clean skin or some shit.

I actually think Morrigan's outfit is fine, to some extent. The way certain artist depict her in range from tasteful to "yo, check out her huge tits!"

This is fine:

This is a bit much, but fine:
This is way too much:
Just because she's a succubus doesn't mean she's just tits and a seductive pose.

Morrigan is a really dumb design. Nothing about it makes sense.
The main wings are bizarrely placed in the middle of her back and don't look like they could support her.
What on earth do the head wings even do?

Salvaria Bles does look the part of being part of the military especially when she isn't fighting since she looks more formal with the small cape.

But when she fight she looks both good and intimidating.

She's the one that I want most as a fighter if Playstation All-Star 2 is a thing (if not her then Imca).

It wraps around your head while she smooches you. Or it flaps to create wind to blow her hair around seductively. >_>

Sorry if i drifted of a bit:P still a bit excited about that ha:P

Shanoa i agree she is so good shame about her emotions but that story twist was pretty neat for a Castlevania game and imo Order of Ecclesia is my favorite in the Igavania series. It felt like a mix of iga + oldschool vania with the oldschool like stage structure and then in the end having a decent sized castle it was pretty epic. And the ending is pretty sad.

Damn hopefully Miriam from Bloodstained has a decent story like that too but it will be hard to top Shanoa's arc.

I am now curious and want to see your game tattoos. The only game tattoo I remember is the fail shoryuken input.

Miriam's design looks neat. I don't think she is overly fanservicing in the same way Shanoa is. Shanao's entire naked back, sexy pose thing is what I refer to. I haven't seen Miriam in anything similar.

if we are talking functionally, the human head is surprisingly heavy compared to the rest of the body. So its likely that the main wings are positioned where the center of mass would be w/o the head, and the head is supported instead by the head wings.

Wolf Link:

note while the artist made the photo i did not hold my shoulder perfect (held em lazy) while that photo was taken so when my shoulders are in place normally the wolf link face and ears lineup perfectly.

Both photos are just after they were set.
For the others i mentioned those still need to be set got appointments for em:P the other tattoo i habe wich is not shown is just a generic tribal going from my arm over my ribs don't have a pic of that on imgur but that is not related to anything anyway it literally is just a black tribal tattoo.

Never had any strange comments irl about em people even compliment me even mainstreams but luckily i look pretty casual amongst the crowd so that helps. And when people recognize em it's a easy conversation starter.

PS don't mind my super pale skin it was around winter season lol.

Edit: Girls love that Midna one even if they never played Zelda games dunno why but most women seem to love it can't complain about that tho and btw i am super happy with em and can't wait for the next appointments, next year i am done with all.

Edit 2: artwork of what i am still getting:

(on my ribs)

And the final one is just getting that tribal patched up as i got that one at a cheap tattoo shop (was my first tat did not know any better back then) and it needs some fixing it's not too bad but it pales compared to these designs and my current tattoo's qualty wise.

They never outright said she was trans. They made lots of jokes, references and all but we never had an official statement from capcom that she was trans because they are weak idiots that don't want the "controversy" of endorsing a LGBT character.

Ono specifically said she was transgender in 2007, official Capcom books and character profiles have listed her as transgender over the years, and there's concept art for her with "Newhalf" (one of the Japanese words used for transgender people) written on it.

I'm not sure where you're getting that she was never canonically considered transgender by Capcom. I mean, they never put out a press release about it or anything, but that's not something they would have done either way.

ANYWAY, it's not the point of this thread either way.

i really like tekken 5 asukas extra costume. its sexy, elegant, i love the color scheme, and its just badass

i also like riesbyfe stridbergs casual babe clothes because of how it juxtaposes her normal wardrobe and demeanor. the stoic, dandere, ass kicking powerhouse of a shield knight secretly has a stunning womanly figure and its good shit. theres something i like a lot about such a powerful female character being a babe at the end of the day; samus is probably the most popular example of this, but obv riesbyfe is my girl

This seems to be a fairly recent trend, perhaps due to people starting to question awful and sexist character design, and it drives me crazy. The Tales of Berseria example mentioned earlier in this thread is a good example of eye-rolling justification, and it's not the first time a Tales game has pulled this. It reminds me of one of the worst reviews I've ever read (fortunately, the author didn't last much longer there):

Edit: The Vaan post above this is a joke, right? Compare the way he's presented in the game versus the way the camera is occasionally positioned to perfectly capture Fran's ass. She's beautiful, of course, but is also from an original race of sexy, scantily-clad bunny girls. And then there's awesome, tough, princess Ashe's booty shorts, and so on.

There is a skit in Tales of Xillia where you find out who made those clothes. It's a servant or hers that's a weirdo and has a crush on her. Not saying that makes it any better. In contrast, Xillia 2 had a much better design.

Velvet from 2017 Berseria isn't any better either. Thankfully there is a really great character beyond those robes.

What on earth do the head wings even do?

Wings are purely decorative for her, whenever she flies she either transforms part of her body into a jet engine (like during Valkyrie Turn) or she has an aura that surrounds her when she is in flight mode (like in UMVC3). She never needs to flap her wings at all, like Firebrand for example, since she obviously just manipulates energy to do it or she sits on her bat familiars in her winposes. She obviously doesn't need them too because she can make them disappear anytime like in her winpose which is also an alt costume in UMVC3.

Speaking of Tales series, I really like Judith as a character but dislike her default outfit design. The justifications are lackluster as well (movement restriction and later appears to be also in part to rebel against her family/traditions) I over look it as I enjoy her other traits and character beyond the sexualisation.

I've posted my opinion on Judith a few times on GAF before such as here.
