Fantastic Four International Trailer #2

Seems like there's a fight with Doom in the negative zone though.

Yeah probably at the end? I mean, I just get the sense that what we're seeing in the trailers is basically the entire movie. There's nothing they're "hiding" or anything. It's a pure origin story which is heavily grounded and "grittier", nothing more.

Does anyone even care about the F4 themselves? Is anyone here not just waiting to see if they mess up Doom again?

I would love to see a F4 movie which is about balancing family, fame, and also dealing with some crazy science shit that has gone very wrong and could destroy the world or universe unless they fix it. F4 is best when it really goes with BIG ideas no matter how implausible or silly.

Fox needs to give up the license for ffs. Both Sony and Fox had to reboot their franchises.

Why? It looks decent as it is. And I don't think any studio would do something significantly different/better with the franchise, there's only so much you can do with these superhero films anyway.

Since it seems a good chunk of the movie takes place in the negative zone, could Annihilus be a villain? Or is that too much to hope for?

It looks better but it still makes me sad Doom is locked in this films. Being a huge fan of his character in Hickman's FF run and the current Secret Wars I'm bummed we'll never see the full power and awesome of Doom on the big screen.
All hail God Emperor Doom

International trailer? I think I saw this while waiting for Furious 7 to start. It still was a good trailer but I'm iffy on how good it will be after they come back to discover they have been transformed.

I hope it's fun, the other two movies were bad, but at least they were kinda fun.

FF have always been pretty boring, and doom has always been lame.

The first teaser was interesting to me. Everything after that makes it seem like your average ho-hum comic book drivel.

Yeah, I think I'm about burnt out on this now. I can't watch all of them anymore.

Really like kebell, teller and Jordan tho so if I hear good things I'll rent it

Supposedly Matthew Vaughn directed the reshoots for the film due to the poor reception of the test screenings (on top of the whole Josh Trank controversy which Hollywood Reporter verified, resulting in Trank's removal from one of the Star Wars films). On top of that, the film will apparently not receive a 3D release according to the rumor in the first link.

If this is true, I'm both hopeful (since they got Matthew Vaughn to help save the film) & concerned (the fact that they had to resort to getting a new director due to poor reception of the test screenings in the first place).

when did they do these reshoots?

This worries me. The studio doesn't even have enough faith to warrant a 3D release? *That's* something. Or reshoots were so bad there's no time to do it? That's also bad.

According to the rumor, the budget for the 3D conversion was reallocated towards the reshoots, which is why there's no 3D release now.

Doom looks like a silver log of shit.
Ben looks terrible as well.

Damn you Fox, let the rights expire so we can get Galactus and Doom in the MCU, done right.

After reading hickman's run I can say I care. Their appearance and powers might be boring, but there is also great family relationship and crazy science and exploration.

I just really do not buy any of these actors at all. I honestly don't mind the tone or the plot or the writing - it looks like a pretty close approximation of the Ultimate Fantastic Four origin story, which I really like - but the entire team feels off. The only character that feels right is Dr. Storm... and I guess Johnny's close, too, but even he feels merely "alright."

I don't think you have a fucking clue what you are talking about.

Doctor Doom is a proctologist in his spare time.

oh so it was actually one of his patients who went with the fantastic 4 to the other dimension

and when that patient came to doom it was cause whenever he'd take a shit it would be like mutant lava shit

so when he went to check what was wrong with the patient the patient had an accident and lets just say our doctor was doomed

now it makes sense when he says "you have no idea whats coming"

Is this so hard?

Stop being ashamed of the source material Fox.

Regardless of your opinion, Michael B Jordan makes a fantastic Johnny Storm. Great casting.

Miles Teller could be good, will have to see the film but he's a great actor ao hopefully it works out.

Really not feeling Kate Mara though

Trank himself got on his Twitter and deconfirmed these rumors

Mostly because Doom is a silly character.

So is Thanos. And Rocket Raccoon. And Spider-Man. And Iron Man. And Groot. And Flash. And Reverse Flash. And freaking Captain Cold. And despite that, all of these are more beloved and successful than those half-assed somewhat-similar-to-the-character-but-not-really characters that went on in comic movie/TV for so long. There's a reason why even DC goes full-on comic books at this point, after the MCU worked fine for, well, everything.

Hell we have OG Thor. With ye olde speak and Loki's horns and all. And somehow Doom is silly?

The one thing that impresses me about the preview material for this movie is how uniformly miscast it appears to be. It's like the anti-Guardians of the Galaxy.

I'm not expecting anything good from this reboot. Hope I'm wrong.
