Far Cry 4: Targeting 1080p/ 30 FPS on PS4

They confirmed 1080p for the PS4 back in June

Ehhh, maybe I'll pass on the PC version and get it on PS4 then. I doubt I'd hit much more than 30 at 1080p on my rig anyways.

Was far cry 3 good?
Far cry 2 and the douchebro white messiah comments have left me skiddish about it.
The single player is pretty awesome but there's a bit of a slow start and the last third of the game has nothing on the first 2/3. The world is beautiful and the combat is very open ended. Plus it has probably the best hunting system in a game that I've played. Protagonist isn't the best but I wouldn't let the comments get in the way, since Vaas is such an amazing villain.

Co-op felt like a bunch of really generic linear missions and I didn't play much of the multiplayer but from what I did play it felt almost identical to CoD. At least it has a level editor.

On Topic: I thought this was confirmed some time back? Doesn't surprise me either way. I'm still a bit iffy on this game though: It just looks a bit too similar to Far Cry 3, the director has a bad track record, and cross-gen.

This is the generation of resolution numbers in a medium where fps is more important. I hate this. Give me 720p and 60fps or at least the option for it.

Played the game at Gamescom. While it really looked very good, the fps was just super bad. And I mean -really- bad. About 20 or so. Of course there is a chance they optimized it by now.

If its 1080 on PS4 and 900 on XB1 that Assasins Creed co marketing deal looks even more suspicious. Maybe it had to do with XB1 not getting any exclusive content and in exchange for that, Microsoft negotiated for resolution parity.

Not defending Ubisoft's boneheaded PR, but they're different games made by mostly different people running on different engines.

I think it's worth pointing out that the only one to use the term "targeting" was the guy asking the question. They've already stated the game was currently running at 1080p and a smooth 30fps on PS4 awhile ago.

I think we should stop using the term "targeting" anyways since it's pretty meaningless. You can target anything you want, no matter how unrealistic. We're targeting 1440p at 120fps! The question shouldn't have been "What are you targeting?" But instead "What is the game running at?"

Why does the question define the answer? I've noticed people are questioning the 'targeting' part of this tweet as if it was the answer when in fact it was the question. They already confirmed it runs at 1080p/30fps. All he's done here is answer the question of resolution and framerate. I suppose he could have replied with 'It's running at 1080p/30fps and that's how it will ship' but he didn't. If the question had been 'Is the PS4 running at 1080p/30fps' the answer would have been the same.

Well the game certainly wasn't a locked 30fps when I played it last week at the EB Expo, but who knows how old the build was? The ailising was also pretty bad.

Yep. Read the title and thought "but I thought they confirmed it already?". It was a relief to see that only the question itself mentioned the word 'target'.

If Metal Gear Solid V is 1080p/60fps then the other AAA games can. Make some effort, Ubisoft (and the other studios)

We don't know what MGSV has to offer in terms of new technology. Maybe they are using old tricks with higher res textures, basic lighting tricks, and less complex scenes?
