Wait... I didn't see Elsa Pataky.

Anyone who hasn't seen Fast Five should go see it NOW. So awesome, and it will get you on board for this new one.

Why aren't you watching it yet? Go!

Ignoring Tokyo Drift is undoubtedly the best way to go. Even if they return to Tokyo, it should have none of the cast from Tokyo Drift, which are what made the movie as bad as it is. The actual car parts and the action scenes are not that bad, it's just the lead was horrible and all the supporting roles were too, outside of Han.

Actually I would welcome them doing F&F7 in Tokyo if they do not touch on anything that was in Tokyo Drift. It will solidify even further that the movie is not canon and should be disregarded in the grand scheme of things.

I was going make a joke about that. They'll get Han in Tokyo, then joke about how he'll return one day.

It's basically retconned out that Han dies in Tokyo Drift.

That still fits as it's assumed Tokyo Drift takes place last.

The only real retcon they've done, that I can think of, is the end of Fast 2: Brian was a fugitive after Fast 1, helped the feds in Fast 2, but at the end heads off for parts unknown with Tyrese and a bunch of stolen money... but then inexplicably next shows up as an FBI agent in 4. Which would seem odd, since by the end of 4 they made him a fugitive again by breaking Dom out of prison.

It doesn't matter, the series has been awesome ever since Justin Lin took it over. Since he's been directing each has been better than the last.

HOLY SHIT, ALMOST NO CGI!!!!!

Even the plane crashing down & the car jumping from within, all practical real effects!

Best movie of the year confirmed! Give it the Oscar already!

The synopsis for this makes it sound deep. They've got money, but no happiness because they can't go home. So The Rock gives them all an offer they can't refuse and that begins the collision course with a new enemy and a twice-undead Rain Ocampo.

2 Fast doesn't make any sense in the context of the series. 2 Fast tells you that Brian and Roman had been racing since before O'Connor became a cop yet when the first movie started, Brian didn't know anything about racing. The movie has a lot of inconsistencies with his character.

I thought 2, 4 and 5 were boring. Speed Racer had better car stunts than all these movies combined. This one looks really good though.

Okay, I thought it was just a misspelling of the name but wasn't sure if there was another meaning behind it.

I know who Letty is. Met her at Universal Studios a couple of years ago. Super nice and great taste in music. (She was going to the Gorillaz concert too.)

As much as I'd defend Speed Racer... ill still take practical effects over cg anyday.

Seems like practical effects have gone as far as they can go as far as cars are concerned. I don't think Speed Racer was gratuitous - I doubt there was a way to film most of that stuff in-camera.

seriously though has there ever been a series that has changes so drastically from it's original concept

from street racing civics to crashing fucking galaxies lol that escalated very quickly
