Fat Princess Adventures Announced For PS4

I perked up when they mentioned the return of a beloved PS franchise, but seriously rolled my eyes when it turned out to be this.

I got it excited then..hmm. Still looks interesting, but it seems it's not a direct sequel(gameplay wise) to the first Fat Princess.

I played this religiously for almost 2 years. I freaking LOVE this game and I'm so happy it's not a forgotten IP. I'm so excited for this.

I'm definitely happy it's still alive as an IP...but I really just want a game like the last one. I'm sure it'll be a good game anyway.

I remember playing the first and thinking the entire time that I'd prefer it if this was a Diablo-esque adventure game. Finally!

I convinced a friend to buy the original FP with me and after 2 games he was so mad that he refused to speak to me for months.

Cute aesthetic, neat idea, absolutely terrible multiplayer design.

The new one looks much better though.

Why does it have to be a fat PRINCESS instead of a fat PRINCE? That's some misogyny tear shit right there.

All women are beautiful.

This and the f2p cell phone and vita (well, someday it will release for vita) game better be hinting at a Fat Princess 2 for ps4. That has to be the pay off, right? =(

It looks like gauntlet except less fun... Why are people excited?
They should have just made a new gauntlet, it would have the benefit of people not crying about their soggy knees as well

This new Fat Princess is bigger and badder than ever, with tons of fast-paced hack ‘n’ slash action. Up to four players can play together online or on the couch to save the world in this casual co-op RPG adventure. The warring kingdoms from the original game have signed a truce and joined forces to battle the Bitter Queen and her army of hungry Gobblings. Your epic quest will span the length and breadth of the land of Great Bitten, from the pinnacles of the Salt Mountains to the depths of the Mines of S’morsia. Along the way you’ll fight dozens of new enemy types ranging from sticky cake golems to dreaded pirates.

Fans of the original game will instantly recognize the classic character classes: the Warrior, the Archer, the Mage, and the Engineer. This time however you can upgrade your character with new armor, weapons, spells and other accessories. Each class also has a suite of sweet new combat moves, including an Awesome Sauce ability that temporarily transforms you into a cake-fueled engine of earth-shaking destruction. Just like in the original game, switching between character classes is as easy as switching the hat you’re wearing. The princesses are back as well. Although they still need you to rescue them from time to time, now they can also fight alongside you, using their rainbow magic to tip the tide of battle in your favor. It’s a good thing too, because you’ll need all the help you can get to defeat the Bitter Queen and keep the world tasty and sweet.

All of us at Fun Bits are excited to be working on Fat Princess again, and excited to be collaborating with the original FP production team at Sony Santa Monica. We’re working hard to give you a new Fat Princess that remains true to the character, charm, chaos, and irreverence of the original. We hope you enjoy this brief taste of what we’ve been cooking up, and we’re looking forward to sharing more details about Fat Princess Adventures in coming weeks. Stay tuned to the PlayStation Blog for more info and cake!

Loved the first FP and still play it today with friends thanks to the couch co-op. I'm a little disappointed that they got rid of the old Team Fortress style gameplay but maybe this will have an online PvP component included. I could see old school FP coming back with this new engine down the road.

Absolutely loved the original on PS3! I'm cool with them changing the gameplay this time around. While I prefer the more cartoony art-direction of the first Fat Princess, this new art style dosen't look half bad.

I think the art style and graphic look nice. More couch co op games the better!
Hope there are some new classes.

As I don't have a ps3 anymore, I miss the original. Very excited despite the genre switch, hoping they dlc in original game modes.

I love the look of the gameplay (love diablo style hack n' slahses), and once I pick up a PS4, I'll be picking this up as well (need some on the couch multiplayer games), but the princess at the end looks like my ex... can someone make an avy out of her for me?

Liked the PS3 games, but they never really grabbed me. This looks like all the things I liked refined and mixed with the kind of titles I prefer generally. Looking forward to it.

I'm up for this.

Fat Princess was one of those games that I could dip in and out of and I got a lot of enjoyment out of it.

Looks like Fun Bits are only working with PlayStation these days.

This is more like magicka rather than Diablo imo. Easier to gather 4 people around than online and waiting for the game to get full, Sold.
