I wonder what kind of case it would be if the dad hopped out the car and clotheslined the kid? It's pretty shitty that a kid can bully and beat up on someone and then get their dad locked up when he tries to stop them.

I'm just trying to think of an alternative the parent might have done.
his finger at the bullies? "You little rascals better stop!" and leave it at that?
There were rules back then boss
Is that picture supposed to swing our view one way or the other?
Yea, why do we need an image in order to make a opinionIs that picture supposed to swing our view one way or the other?

Makes me glad I'm leaving the country soon. I'm sickened by this kind of shit.
My favorite part is how they say he locked him in the car. That makes it seem like he handcuffed him and left him in there, when most likely at most he locked the car door when enroute to the school.
No he didn't, people are crazy for feeling this way. Sure, there are people that don't have children best interest in mind, but that is a small minority.
Unsupervised children are the responsibility of the entire community. When you see a child in danger, or generally misbehaving, you are justified in interfering. Usually this can be handled with words.
However, when you find a wounded child it is the right thing to do to put the child in your car and bring him to a doctor (when an ambulance isn't the best alternative). When you see a child that's lost, it's the right thing to do to put the child in your car and take him home. When you see a child seriously misbehaving - violence or vandalism - then during school hours it is the right thing to do to take that child back to school so that they can handle it. Alternatives are putting that child into your car and driving them home, or putting them in your car and driving them to the police station. Or perhaps call the cops and prevent the child from leaving.
Stupid on his part, in what world does an adult think its ok to put someone else's child in their car.
