Favorite Christmas tv episodes, specials?

I've come to like It's a Wonderful Life. Not really a Christmas story movie but always plays this time of year and I love it. I also am fond of A Christmas Story. I remember when TNT or whatever channel would play a 24 hour marathon every year.

I've just realized I made a mistake. This thread is for Christmas episodes and specials not movies...oh well.

Christmas with the Joker

Was Marge Be Not Proud really a Christmas ep? It's very sweet still though.

Anyway my favorites...

A Christmas Carol (Disney) - it's a perfect animated take of the story and fitting too for the character!

A Muppet Christmas Carol - another similar take on the story with also memorable characters and good acting

Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean - the punchline is sweet towards the end, has really laughable moments (dat Nativity scene) and it's just all out fun

Christmas Who (Spongebob) - "I made you a gift just in case Santa forgot to give you." Goddamnit made me choke up a bit.

Pinky and the Brain Christmas Special - it's funny and the payback is very touching, goddamn

Comfort and Joy (Justice League) - because it's really fun, although no Batman and Wondy sucks (though one assumes they were banging)

The Christmas Aliens (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003) - Goddamnit Mikey, goddamnit - also riddled with Raph bromance

By the way what's everyone's opinion on Alpha Five's Magical Christmas? :lol

Since a large amount of my favourite specials have already been mentioned (The Father Ted Christmas special is probably my favourite special [I do love the Pinky and the Brain special though]), as has been mentioned my list is mostly limited to episodes of television shows that take occur around Christmas (potentially using the setting for some plot point or for contrast). I'm unsure if these would be my favourite Christmas episodes (Chuck Versus the Santa Claus and Afternoon Delight are definitely two of my favourite, as are The Wire episodes if they would count) but they are what immediately came to mind:

Chuck Season 2: "Chuck Versus Santa Claus"
- Easily one of my favourite episodes of the show (certainly the one I remember better than any other, in part due to its terrific ending). Moreso than any other show on this list (except perhaps Final Grades in which the setting is used for a very stark contrast) this utilises the setting as an important point in the plot.

Arrested Development Season 2: "Afternoon Delight"
- In a series of many amazing episodes of a consistently high quality (except perhaps the early arc of season 3 which doesn't hold up as well as the rest on a rewatch) this is one episode I really do enjoy, even if, due to the overall quality of the second season, it doesn't stand out as much as say "Chuck Versus Santa Claus" does (coincidentally also a Christmas themed episode in an exceptional second season)
(not a very good image I'm afraid but the best I could find related to the Christmas portion)

House Season 3: "Merry Little Christmas"
- The time of year isn't necessarily as important in this episode as it is in the others on the list but it is an episode of the third season (at Christmas time) that I really did enjoy.
The Wire Season 4: "That's Got His Own" and "Final Grades" (I'm not so sure if the former counts however). Not much really to say about these two episodes (both occuring in the Christmas period) other than that they, together, are two of my favourite episodes in the entire series. The latter episode is probably more effected by the time of year than the former is (merely due to the festive hum at the beginning however) but the time of year creates a stark contrast to the events within these two episodes.

Rocko's Modern Life.

The most famous elf of them all?
That would be Mitch. He had three legs, and he was the last elf who could make it snow

Come, bring the children to fruitcake man. I love the children. Go on, take a gift. I feel nothing.

The Office UK Christmas special is just fantastic. The US has "Christmas Party" and "Benihana Christmas." "Moroccan Christmas" wasn't bad either but nowhere near the other two.

I haven't seen Mickey's A Christmas Carol in YEARS, but I remember it from beginning to end.

The O.C. - The Chrismukkah That Almost Wasn't (Season 2)

"So when did you come up with this holiday?"

"I didn't actually. Jesus and Moses, they put it together over lunch."

It's got it all. Christmas sweaters, color coded holiday alert systems, Chrismukkah miracles, a Chrismukkah theme song to be song by JoJo, even the yarmuclaus!

Honorable Mention:

The O.C. - The Best Chrismukkah Ever (Season 1)

"I created the greatest super holiday known to mankind drawing on the best Christianity and Judaism have to offer."

The introduction of the glorious holiday celebration known as Chrismukkah and oh yeah, Rachel Bilson as Wonder Woman.

Married With Children - "You Better Watch Out"

A Christmas stunt at Chicago's Lakeside Mall goes awry when the man playing Santa crash-lands on the Bundys' yard and dies. Al must deal with the crowd of kids who still believe in Santa Claus.

'Livin on reds, vitamin C and propane', King of the Hill.
Hank and Bobby try to drive a semi truck to deliver furniture during Christmas. The usual suspects stow away in the trailer. Great episode.

The West Wing - In Excelsis Deo -- The president's chief speech writer is called by Metro DC police in connection with a homeless man who died of hypothermia while sleeping in a park. Of course he's not involved, but his business card is in the man's coat--he donated his coat to good will the year before and it wound up on this man. Of course he doesn't know the man at all, and has nothing to do with him, but decides to make himself involved anyway. He asks about the man at a nearby souvenir shop and finds out that the man was a Vietnam Veteran. He later discovers the man's brother, also homeless and mentally disabled. Knowing that Veterans are entitled to a military funeral, Toby arranges everything (we see the funeral above). The B and C plots in the episode are also very nice but pale compared to this. The best moment is when Toby takes money out of his wallet to try to give something to the homeless men he talks to, looks at it, and then hands them a wad of what has to be several hundred dollars. The men point out to him "It's cold, you'll need money for the bus"--they don't even realize that Toby is a wealthy man and that not everyone is in as dire straights as them.

(This episode was part of the show's Emmy Submission--Richard Schiff, who plays Toby won. Aaron Sorkin and his co-writer also won for Best Writing)

Was going to mention this, I love this episode. My favourite episode of the West Wing. It's incredibly moving and has fantastic writing, acting and direction.

Also, the homeless guy fought in Korea, not Vietnam :P

I came in to post my favorites and people had done most of my work for me:

Veronica Mars - An Echolls Family Christmas -- combines some pretty good plot development with an excellent execution of Rashomon

Chuck Season 2: "Chuck Versus Santa Claus" - Easily one of my favourite episodes of the show (certainly the one I remember better than any other, in part due to its terrific ending). Moreso than any other show on this list (except perhaps Final Grades in which the setting is used for a very stark contrast) this utilises the setting as an important point in the plot.

The Christmukkah eps are my favorite though I'd give the slight edge to the first one. That Veronica Mars ep is pretty great too though. I'd also add these:

Scrubs, "My Own Personal Jesus"
30 Rock, "LudaChristmas"

Too lazy for pics and descriptions though.
