Favorite Fighting Game Announcers

Edit: Read this thread entirely wrong. I'm going to go with SSB Brawl solely due to the nostalgia of that game. How the dude says Snake's name....

3rd Strike.

Loved the whole soundtrack too. I like the more chill vibes, and I like the cool, calmness of the announcer. Makes for better crack sessions. I don't always want my blood pumping and to feel like everything is intense.

Smash 64

On the contrary, Smash always tries to have hype, intense announcers, and Smash 64 IMO is the only one to have a genuinely excited announcer. Brawl and 4's announcers sound like they're trying real hard to be announcer voices, but aren't genuine. Melee's announcer is a little more chill. But just listen to the Smash 64 announcer yell SUPER, SMAAAAASH BROOOOOOTHERRRRRRRRRRRRRS at the end of the intro. And then listen to him yell-FREE FOR ALLLL.

90's Capcom - There's too many, the top though are CvS2 and Alpha 3 announcers since they have so many memorable quotes. 3rd Strike announcer as well since it was different and more chill than any others.
Killer Instinct - Always hype!
Mortal Kombat 2 and 3 - "You weak pathetic fool." "It's official, you suck."

Tekken is good, but I don't like the guy who did 5-6, he sounds like a casino manager or something. I liked the older ones from Tag 1 and etc.

Gotta go with my man in Tekken 3. Such a smooth mofo, almost sounds like the son Duke Nukem never had (or did he?)

edit: ^mere seconds!

Fun fact, that was Alucard from Symphony of the night. He also did the narration for story mode in Tekken 5, but was no longer the announcer past Tag Tournament.

I think the announcer for the post-vanillia SF4 games knocked it out of the park, popularity be damned

he has the hype level of the pre-MvC1 Versus games, with the vocab level of CvS2

hard to ask for more

I still can't believe they got the guy who voiced Alucard from SotN to do T5's story narration, lol

He was the announcer for Tekken 2, 3 and Tag Tournament before then. Did Tekken 2 & 3 before Symphony of the Night, even.

Killer Instinct is the GOAT. On the other end of the spectrum, all Blazblue announcers have been horrid, especially the one in CSII.

Do character select rappers count?

"Let's get it on now
Select to make your first pick
Let's get it on now
10, 9, 8, 7, 6
Let's get it on now
Choose to pick the best one
Let's get it on now
5, 4, 3, 2, 1"
I love this. 3rd Strike was such a cool game. I wish they returned to that style and theme for SFV.

My personal favorites for me are from
Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike

As for my actual favorite Announcer, it's whoever is talking in Street Fighter 3 Third Strike. Dude is too cool for school.
It's sadly kind of hard to find video for him, but if you've played it you know what i'm talking about.

It isn't full of quotes like most mentioned but I like the sound of Street Fighter Alpha' 2's for some reason.

The winner for me though is Mortal Kombat's Shao Khan though. I do love the series idea that the big bad of the game is the fight announcer and its such a good voice.

That's honest to God a tough one.

-Skullgirls (Drunk Josh Tomar is best josh Tomar)
-SF Alpha 3
-CvS 1

But I think mine has to be XanderMobius in Smash 4. The man fucking sang the Pokemon theme. In his announcer voice.

The almighty ones have granted you a sword to cut your own path.
Entrust your noble soul in your sword.
Watched over by the almighty ones, they unleash their fury.
Fate conspired to arrange their battle.
A hero desires a sword, and a sword desires truth.
The fighters face a gruesome quest to search for the ultimate sword.
Now, two souls are fiercely entangled.

I can't believe I can't for the life of me find a YouTube video of the Soul Calibur II narrator. The pre-battle lines specifically are some of my favourite voiced lines in all of gaming.
