Tales games usually have a consistent menu structure that can be easily spotted across games. However, Tales of the Abyss goes the extra mile and frames its menu in the fashion of a journal, not unlike the one Luke keeps during the game, complete with the status pictures of the character being shown as postcards stuck to the menu with a piece of tape.

Say what you want about the game (I think it's great), but I always loved that little aesthetic touch.

Loved it, absolutely dripping in atmosphere. Worth leaving on as background noise too for the amazing jazz score.

I'd forgotten all about that menu. This one is fantastic and goes with the game so well.

If we're talking about the main menu, then hell yes, Xenoblade takes the cake for me. The main theme playing in the background was also awesome.

Didn't like the pause/start menu during gameplay, though.

I hated the game but Final Fantasy XIII's menus were fantastic.

I liked the main menus of the classic Call of Duty games, and moreso their briefing screens (granted, these weren't menus per se). They had a lot of nice touches.

Persona 4 menu layout immediately came to mind, but i'm not sure if this is about title screen or menu. As far as Title screen goes, Fl0w because the game does directly from it.

I've always liked the title screen/menu in Shadow Hearts. Very minimalistic, but it works really well with the ambient music:

Other favourites include FFXII, Persona 3, Persona 4 and tons I can't remember. The guys at Atlus are kings of UI/menu design.
