Favorite Online Coop PS4 Games

My buddy and I are looking for some fun games to play together online, but I'm struggling to find a solid list of coop games! What are your favorites, Gaf?

We've played through:
Borderlands
Diablo 3
Bloodborne
Dark Souls 3
Destiny
Rocket League (still goin at this one)
GTA V

We're open to pretty much anything that's fun!

I just recently beat Viking Squad with a buddy on steam and it was fairly fun. It's essentially Castle Crashers. Give it a go. It's only 15 bucks and the replayability is fairly but you will likely beat your first playthrough with replaying stuff in 5ish hours.

It's on PS4 too that's why I mention it

Thank you guys for the recommendations! Out of curiosity, has anyone here sunk time into the Doom Multiplayer and Doom coop content?

There is no coop content. The multiplayer is functional but not compelling, IMO. It has appreciable shades of id's classical arena style shooters in terms of weapon properties and mobility, but I think the way that powerups and loadouts work is kind of lame.

Despite how I bitch and moan about it on here every now and then, GTA V can be a good candidate. Plenty of team missions and co-op via contact missions, survival, and heists. Not to mention the business and motorcycle club stuff they've added recently.

Imo and I don't say this about games often I try to be nice..it's garbage maybe you'll like it

Stay clear of the multiplayer. Got it! Thank you!

Forgot to mention GTA! We've put time into that as well!

RE6 was fun co-op

I recently got dying light and played a little co-op. Seemed fun but haven't spent more than 2hrs playing yet. I'm wondering how this is co-op

Salt & Sanctuary had some of the best MP co-op sessions this year for me personally.

If you don't mind rogue like elements (total loss and restart) Don't Starve Together is very nice.

Time down shooter wise I had a blast with Dead Nation, Assault Android and Helldivers.

Guacamelee is also an excellent co-op romp.

I really enjoyed God Eater 2 though I'm unsure how that is on PS4 co-op. If there is a demo it is probably worth a try if you like the hunting genre.

Great list, thank you! Neither of us have tried a hunting game, so hopefully there's a demo.

Earth Defense Force 4.1 is the best co-op game out there right now, with a ton of content and as complex as you want to make it. Get it immediately.

I remember there is a demo for Toukiden which I forgot to mention is another co-op hunting game. It lets you play with all the weapons and fight some of the weaker enemies as well as access tutorials I seem to remember.

God Eater is a bit faster in terms of combat. For me it is like comparing Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Fundamentals of dodging, positioning, attacking and familiarity with both weapons and monsters are all necessary but the pace of the dance is feels different. There are other differences but the main focus of the games are combat and I think both are fun with God Eater edging out on top on this, though it is also the more easily broken and imbalanced of the two which is also a bit of s sin for hunting games for me as it strips away the difficulty and satisfaction.

Oh yeah, Rayman Legends is worth a look into if you like platformers.
